I like how cheerful the lady in the background was telling about the Shinano river. And even put on her best effort to translate it for those foreigners who may have been there with you.
You have such interesting trains in Japan. Are there many Restaurant Trains? The food as always looked scrumptious. I guess that leaf counts as one week's salad. Ha. Always enjoy your amusing comments.
I love how Solo Travel-San's first thought with the gift was if it were Curry. Miso is not far off, but I love that he doesnt know what to do with it, even thinking about his Non-existent wife. Oh Solo Travel-San, never change
The food was clearly carefully prepared and enjoyed. I wouldn't have guessed that it was Italian but it is very interesting to see how Japanese chefs interpret Italian cooking.
This chapter of Solo was both intriguing and hysterical.....I absolutely adore your humor and attention to detail.....greetings from Chicago by the way...
😘👌 Superb episode. Gorgeous scenery, charming train and train station, scrumptious food, and hilarious commentary. Everything we love about STJ in one episode. Rating: ‼️
Me going through customs in japan Sir Purpose of your Visit to japan. Yeah Solo Travel Japan sent me i am here to do a lot of things i saw on there you tube channel
well I hope you don't mind me talking😒,it's 8:00 Sunday night I have an appointment with my knee doctor tomorrow,Soo nervous 💉trying to find something to watch on TV but nothing 😑,, OMG Soo glad to find your new trip SOOO when I'm done watching ,, gonna go find some of your old ferry trips with light sticks, sunflower 🌻 song, thanks for great trips, thanks for listening
Thank you. Very nice trip and beautiful food. Our cherry blossoms are in bloom also on east coast USA. A very international meal. French onion soup, your " pie" was British Yorkshire pudding. The braised beef could be Italian and we do make a white cod with stewed tomatoes and feta cheese that is " cod medeteranian.😁
The food looked delicious. I had just finished my dinner when the notification popped up, so I could watch without too much envy. Thanks for taking us along.
LOVE that you share these videos-I feel as if I'm sitting right next to you on your journey. I was so happy to hear you had a wife and then you said you didn't! 🙁
I love the tourist train trips you keep finding! Not only is the experience so very different, but the food always looks so delicious, mixing in Western cuisine with a distinctly Japanese flair. Thank you for taking us on these journeys with you, STJ!
I vote breakfast or at minimum, watch with a snack before bed. This one is more food oriented then many others, I'd want something for myself while I watch. Fortunately for me, I just had dinner and am stuffed.
What a lovely trip. I'd really like to try this train route some day. All the food looked amazing, but especially the apple chestnut tart! Locally made miso paste is a great gift, too. Hope you will learn to at least make some simple miso soup at home with it...! Arigato as always, STJ-san
Another excellent adventure STJ-san. Food look delicious, the scenery was pretty with all the Sakura trees and not forgetting the slightly smoking volcano!! The train too was nicely refurbished and I love the fact that Japanese trains seem to have a "face" which give them all their own character. Looking forward to the next trip, thanks for taking me along with you. Arigato!!
Thank you for this wonderful video. Thank you for letting us join you on this experience. The only train experience I have had is the Grand Trunk Railroad. A nearly local band got it's name from it. Grand Funk Railroad played starting in 1969. When I was young my Dad & Mom put my sister & I on the train then picked us up on the next stop. My Dad thought it was important since the railroad company was planning on closing it down the next month. The Royal Oak station was later sold & bulldozed. It was a beautiful train station. The food looks great. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Well this is exciting. You arrived on the Shinkansen - that's so cool. That's a handsome train, beautiful exterior and interior. Lovely table and chairs. And the food - yummy! I'll add this to my list.
that train and train station were absolutely stunning . better than anything i see here in the states lucky u I thought that food looked really good. Sometimes i dont always care for japanese cuisine but that food looked so yummy all of it LOL
I love French Onion Soup in all it's different forms and that looked fantastic. Every time I see you type "It's time to eat", I can hear you saying "itadakimasu". Thanks for the ride.
That was such a lovely video. One of my favorites. That train was gorgeous and the inside was so well laid out. I am sorry you had so much trouble with your beef because of the leaves. I hope you find somebody nice to make your miso soup. There is enough to share. :)
Lovely sense of humour sir, made me smile. It's good to be happy. The food looked really tasty it was so colourful and well presented. But, just as good as the food, I absolutely loved all that beautiful natural wood panelling, flooring and furniture. Wood like that makes everything look so elegant. I could never imagine our UK rail companies getting anywhere near as high class as that. Thank you for taking us all with you on these journeys.
Another enjoyable train ride. The entree and dessert looked delicious. I'm sure you have a mother, perhaps she could make meso soup or perhaps something else. I know it's a Japanese staple in cooking. Loved the video . . . will catch you in the next one. Take care and stay safe.
I went back and looked at the Kyushu train meal. It looked like the Rokumon tracks were smoother for eating. Being over twice the cost it looked like the Kyushu meal was much more elegant.
Is it bad that when he said "I'll ask my wife" I was like "Aw :(" but when he said "wait, I don't have a wife" I went "OH GOOD I STILL HAVE A CHANCE!!!"
The item with the beef dish that you called a "pie" is, I think, what the British would call a Yorkshire pudding. Either way, it all looked fabulous. I feel like I gain about three pounds just watching your videos. But it's all worth it.
I wish other countries from the west would use Japan as a good example of how society could be. Japan always puts much effort into details and keep so clean and your crime and homeless rates are very low. In Canada and America no one cares about anything anymore especially during work everyone just does the minimum and expects tips for poor service to & there is to much crime you could never have a shop that uses Honor system like Japan can, I hope one day that changes. I feel like living in japan is like living in the future yet your culture doesn’t forget to Honor it’s past, which I feel is important to keep a connection with.
You didn't comment on the miso foccacia, on paper it sounds like a combination that could work really well. I would have loved to have that chance to see Asama-yama "smoking" (alert level has been raised to lvl 2)( I have a thing for volcanoes, been to Sakurajima and Aso-Nakadake ) "Wait... I don't have a wife" 😂. Of course, now the frequent ferry trips make more sense: "a girl in every port" 😆 Thanks STJ
I was thinking whoa, STJ got married? Your humor is the best.😄
18:20 My wife and I had our mouths super wide, in shock and looked at each other in disbelief. And then the un-reveal.
Looove this guy's humor.
Same here. My reaction was 'Huh, I didn't know Solo was married....oh.' :-)
Haha nice! I always look forward to the two exclamation marks when the food is good!! And we'll all be praying for a lovely wife for you !!!!!!!
That bit about the leaf not dropping when you were attempting to eat a piece of meat gave me a genuine laugh 😂
You are funny 😄. Meal looked very nice and what a lovely train journey.
I love how Solo Travel-San's first thought with the gift was if it were Curry.
Miso is not far off, but I love that he doesnt know what to do with it, even thinking about his Non-existent wife.
Oh Solo Travel-San, never change
Finally we learn the real reason for all this solo travel across Japan: Solo Travel-San can't cook for himself
@@KittyKawauso Any ordinary guy: "My wife doesn't understand me!" STJ: "My microwave oven doesn't understand me!"
Alternatively, setting himself (and his mailbox) up for thousands of marriage proposals from beautiful western ladies.
@@thany3 ah, what a western lady would do for a bag of miso ;)
I was amused that STJ thought a vol-au-vent was a pie.
Perhaps need to travel to europe with Kuga of Kugaa Travels....
Great video though.
The food was clearly carefully prepared and enjoyed. I wouldn't have guessed that it was Italian but it is very interesting to see how Japanese chefs interpret Italian cooking.

🙋 I will second that! 😎✌️
This channel could hardly be any cuter.
Me going through customs in japan Sir Purpose of your Visit to japan. Yeah Solo Travel Japan sent me i am here to do a lot of things i saw on there you tube channel
I like the burgundy red livery of the train.
well I hope you don't mind me talking😒,it's 8:00 Sunday night I have an appointment with my knee doctor tomorrow,Soo nervous 💉trying to find something to watch on TV but nothing 😑,, OMG Soo glad to find your new trip SOOO when I'm done watching ,, gonna go find some of your old ferry trips with light sticks, sunflower 🌻 song, thanks for great trips, thanks for listening
NOT the 'sunflower' song, Please!!!
What a wonderful opportunity! Thank you for sharing it with us.
The cherry blossom trees are just beautiful , looks like you had a lovely view and ride
Japan really has some of the most amazing trains and train-experiences. Wow.
🚅🛤️🚇Two trains plus a terrific multi-course meal! That's a great day, STJ! Thanks! 😎✌️
Hello, thanks for these wonderful trips, I really enjoy watching them, greetings 😊👍✨💫☘️
Incredible! Really enjoyed this! Thank you!
Pretty train station in kuruizawa.
That tunnel section does give a different atmosphere, a haunted one :D can't imagine taking pictures of it and see things later in them.
Thanks! It was really cool to see the interiors in this train. Japan is so lucky to have so many varied trains to experience. 😮😮😊😊 Laurie. NZ.
That looks like a delightful ride. Nice scenery, good food, ...

Two episodes without beef curry? Blasphemous!
What, no curry...twice? Heresy! Sacrilege! UMBRAGE!! 🤣🤣🤣
LOL!😂
Imposter!
Times are tight.
😂😂😂😂 I agree
I love the tourist train trips you keep finding! Not only is the experience so very different, but the food always looks so delicious, mixing in Western cuisine with a distinctly Japanese flair. Thank you for taking us on these journeys with you, STJ!
I love these sort of videos. Seeing things like outdated trains repurpased for such a unique experience is so creative and so very Japan.
cherry blossom trees really makes youtube's compression have a hard time. Must look so pretty in real life 😍
Miso soup is very easy to make. If I can make it, anyone can.
Loved this episode.
You have a funny sense of humor 💜
That food looks delicious!! Thank you for sharing. Keep sending them over.
I enjoyed this video! 👍🏻❤️
The food looked amazing, the views were great, and you even got a gift! I enjoyed this episode very much, thank you for taking us with you!
One of the hardest decisions I have to make today. Do I enjoy the Solo Travel Japan video before bed, or do I leave it for breakfast time...
Before bed
I vote breakfast or at minimum, watch with a snack before bed. This one is more food oriented then many others, I'd want something for myself while I watch. Fortunately for me, I just had dinner and am stuffed.
both! 😃
Absolutely wonderful!
Great content as always. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
We really enjoy your videos, Thank you for sharing your beautiful country and food.
What a lovely trip. I'd really like to try this train route some day. All the food looked amazing, but especially the apple chestnut tart! Locally made miso paste is a great gift, too. Hope you will learn to at least make some simple miso soup at home with it...! Arigato as always, STJ-san
Cherry blossom time in Japan time for celebration I know the people of Japan love Cherry blossoms 🌸 🌸🌸🌸.
Thanks for sharing and thank you solo travel japan for the upload
So tasty
I heart you mwah!
Nice finally italian food! Solo i wait for you in Italy!!
Viaggio in trenoin Italian means “travel by train”. But a menu hasn’t a lot in common with a tipical Italian kitchen😂
Had to go and get something to eat. Luckily it was almost lunchtime. Goodness me, is that pie a tiny Yorkshire pudding?
Another excellent adventure STJ-san. Food look delicious, the scenery was pretty with all the Sakura trees and not forgetting the slightly smoking volcano!! The train too was nicely refurbished and I love the fact that Japanese trains seem to have a "face" which give them all their own character. The ‘wait I don’t have a wife ‘ was perfect
STJ on a "restaurant train" - has to be good
Lovely! Thank you❤😊
STJ's level of enthusiasm would have been over the top if he'd been gifted curry instead of miso. 😄
Thank you for sharing a little of Nagano. Our little family is heading there just before the new year. We are excited!

16:22 A play pen for squirrels! How cute! :D
😂 Or 🦫beaver kits! 😎✌️
If they had this on a North American train, the children would be required to wear helmets. ;-)
That, I think would be a wonderful job. Imagine being a professional waver. 😊 Thankyou again Solo Travel San for a lovely escape with good food.
Well this is exciting. You arrived on the Shinkansen - that's so cool.
That's a handsome train, beautiful exterior and interior. Lovely table and chairs. And the food - yummy! I'll add this to my list.
Good to see you had a salad with your beef.
What a beautiful train and such lovely meals! I was so shocked when you mentioned a wife XD
Food looks great. Nice relaxing way to travel.
1 day when I feel able to travel again, I want to visit Japan. XX
that train and train station were absolutely stunning . better than anything i see here in the states lucky u I thought that food looked really good. Sometimes i dont always care for japanese cuisine but that food looked so yummy all of it LOL
ThanksMuch!
Love it my friend absolutely love it I would love to meet up with you one-day in we enjoy some sightseeing Japan is on my travel list
Okay, you got me! I thought "When did he get married?". 😂
The cherry trees were pretty and the smoking mountain was scary.
The food looked amazing!
Thank you for always taking us with you! 😊
✌️🇺🇸❤️🇯🇵🎶
If ever I could be a volcano for a while. I would lay on my back smoking a cigar and the passersby would say: "Look, he's working!".
The cherry blossoms are awesome
Thank you for this trip. You can warm your miso soup in the microwave at home. Or you can put it in a little pan and heat it up. Enjoy the soup!
That all looked so delicious! The like button is not working so here ya go lol. 👍👍👍👍👍
What a beautiful train, lovely food and amazing scenery! Thanks for the ride
Very nice train journey with some very tasty food
I love French Onion Soup in all it's different forms and that looked fantastic. Every time I see you type "It's time to eat", I can hear you saying "itadakimasu". Thanks for the ride.

perfect to unwind to before a long work week! Be well friend!❤
It wasn't a ferry, but it did have food! No curry or orange juice, though 🤔 Cool train too!👍
Definitely NOT a ferry. No wide open vistas over water.
There's this cool thing called the internet where you can find how to cook anything. 😁
Very nice. One of your more more noisy adventures tho. Thanks for sharing.
What a great train journey! ❤
Another enjoyable train ride. The entree and dessert looked delicious. I'm sure you have a mother, perhaps she could make meso soup or perhaps something else. I know it's a Japanese staple in cooking. Loved the video . . . will catch you in the next one. Take care and stay safe.
What fun! Delicious meal and beautiful scenery. This was a lovely excursion, thank you for taking us along. 🙏
Thanks from your fans in the U.K. 🇬🇧
Thanks for the super thanks.
Found restaurant train class 😮
Onion soup is more French than Italian. The food looked amazing, but I think I would have trouble fitting into those seats... they look very tight.
I went back and looked at the Kyushu train meal. It looked like the Rokumon tracks were smoother for eating. Being over twice the cost it looked like the Kyushu meal was much more elegant.
The Italian meal is about as Italian as most Chinese food in American Chinese Restaurants. xD
Restaurant train? Wow!
Amazing
Such lovely cherry blossoms 🌸 and gourmet dishes
Is it bad that when he said "I'll ask my wife" I was like "Aw :(" but when he said "wait, I don't have a wife" I went "OH GOOD I STILL HAVE A CHANCE!!!"
Nice!
Always something funny in ur videos. Appreciate that. Another human being even though a world away!! Keep going.✅😊
The item with the beef dish that you called a "pie" is, I think, what the British would call a Yorkshire pudding. Either way, it all looked fabulous. I feel like I gain about three pounds just watching your videos. But it's all worth it.
It is a Yorkshire Pudding! A favourite with us British. 😀
I think it was a French pastry called Vol au Vent. Also they borrowed an onion soup from French cuisine. But who cares, it was delicious.
In German we call it Blätterteigpastete :)
I first thought Yorkshire Pudding, then vol au vont, maybe something in between, but Italian.
That vol-au-vent, is definitely NOT a Yorkshire pudding.
I love the background music....Mozart, I believe 😊
Funny video! I enjoyed to watch it..😊
