@Microwaveoficial Sharpness and bokeh are good, low light could be better but still gets the job done, but if the focus is low light photos you could use another lenses
I recently decided to buy my first camera and lens and have been loving experimenting and learning about my camera (I personally went with the Nikon Z5 with a 24-120mm f/4 lens). I've been doing lots of research into general photography and Lightroom tips and your channel by far has been the most informative and entertaining. Not to mention your pictures are incredible!!! Thanks so much for all the really helpful videos - looking forward to seeing more from you!
Well today I received a used Nikon D90 in top condition and i got it for 190 Euro and i bought a cheap 35 mm 1.8 Nikon lens for 75 Euro It’s a perfect combo to start doing street photography or even landscape or portrait photography I know that the Sony is a better choice but i just mentioned this so everyone out there can know that there are alot of good options in the market such as Nikon D70 or Canon 20D for example … i have an A7 and A6700 but i always find that these old DSLR cameras are still great for photography because the files that these cameras provide has this unique vintage vibe which we can’t get with the Sony cameras I do wish everyone a pleasant weekend and thank you for this video man …
I started in 2021 on a D90 and a few lenses like the 18-105 and 55-300 and two primes that i got from my dad. I have sold every lens except the kit 18-105 and bought a DJI RS3 for my A7IV =) and i still take pics with the D90 occasionally.
@ well its great to hear that you’re still using the Nikon D90 until this day I actually got it recently but I already have the Nikon D70S and its an awesome camera and very precious to my heart i am planning to get a Sigma art lens for my Nikon cameras maby the Sigma 28 mm art lens the problem its too expensive around 750 Euro here in Germany Do you have any website or an instagram account where i can check your work …
Hey IG Really enjoy your tutorials Been with the a6400 since 2000, first apsc camera for me. Paired it with the Sony 18-135mm zoom for ‘one and done’ and the Sigma f1.4 30 mm prime for low light and video. Really nice and extremely versatile set up, light and compact enough for travel. Extra batteries? No big deal 3rd party are cheap enough although quality varies. Sure I’d like to upgrade to a a6700 for the IBIS among many other features but opted for airplane tickets instead. Hola amigo!
I’m also on the 6400, I’ve used bigger and better but would pick this 6400 every time simply because of cost and weight savings! I envy your fast glass. Oh and cheap Chinese batteries for the win, every time.
I’ve been using the a6400 for a couple of years. I sold off my entire Nikon dslr kit for financial reasons (I nearly went homeless). When I got back into photography it just made sense to go smaller and lighter, I was used to carrying big kit for street photography so it was weird at first, but I have no complaints, and most of the issues like you mention are easy to get around. I did purchase a cage with a wood handle for the Sony for easier handling (I’m currently looking for a better eyepiece, the oem is too shallow and I smash my face on the lcd.) I miss the Nikon 50mm fixed lenses though, I loved them for street work.
Thank for sharing man, yea the eye piece is a little small, and the entire camera is small, especially if you are used to bigger cameras. I'm curious what lenses are you using mostly?
@@thaticelandicguyno problem, the 16-55 2.8 is a good walking around lens and I’ve used it for some landscape shots on the Hawaiian lava fields and ranches with success, I also have the 55-210 4.5 that does an acceptable job. I am on a budget these days unfortunately. To be honest this glass is good enough, after I’m done in Capture One I’ve remedied whatever issues I had with the glass.
I really love the way you pronounce 'second' ❤❤❤❤ In all seriousness, I bought Sony A6400 but I'm kinda regretting that decision because I'm still not satisfied with its color science. I think Canon M50 or R50 suits me better. But now I'm stuck, I can only aim to get better lenses make better use of it.
I have the a6300 with a little mirror attached to the top, so I can see myself. It's not as good as having a flip screen, but it allows me to frame myself on a budget! ☺
Great video with good advices, thanks for sharing, would it be possible to make a comparison of your cameras during low light? One with Video and if possible with northern lights and timelapses? This is actually what i miss to decide which camera i would decide to buy 🙏. Anyway you are the reason i will buy a sony camera next week 🙈
I recently found a good deal on, a Sony a6400 just the carcass for an affordable mount of money but the shutter count is 130k ,though it looks the carcass looks sharp and clean . What do you alll think ?
You should mention what you plan to do with it. Your lens may suit you perfectly. Try not to get GAS, or FOMO. You can do a lot with 16-55. If you want a prime, figure what which focal length is best for you.
Today i watched the 4yr old video of your telling about the a6300 then i decided to buy that but now im watching this now im all clear love you my lil bad buddy
You always pitch the a6400, since you build all of this on the a6300 and a6400. Therefore I recently borrowed the a6400 from my brother which I gifted him 5 years ago, just to have another camera to play around without spending again money for gear :D That being said me being a gear head and owning Leica camera, all the shots I took for the 365 challenge so far were done on very old camera between 50-150$ :)
Currently debating getting the a6400 or saving a bit more and getting the a6700. I want to get into wildlife photography so idk if the better autofocus and larger battery is worth the extra price
I agree that the Sony A6400 is a great camera. For photography (mainly) if I were to start on a limited budget, say under $1K USD, I would go with a Canon RP + RF 28mm f2.8. If you really need a zoom, the consumer RF-24-105 STM is a pretty good lens for the money. That kit would be way under $1K if bought 2nd hand. When comparing to the A6400, the A6400 will have more capable video features, and more FPS. But, I think the Canon UI is more intuitive, the LCD screen is fully touch enabled, low light performance is better and the IQ from the full frame sensor will render more detail. The physical size is not much bigger and heavier. My other full size budget alternative, but may not be as beginner friendly is a used A7R II + 50mm f1.8. The IQ from this camera is amazing. Yes, the colors are not to everyone's liking in the default setting, but I think that can be easily overcome by shooting RAW or tweaking the camera's jpg settings. Yes, it's slow when compared to the A6400, but for a beginner photographer, it may not be as much of an issue. I've owned all three cameras for extended periods of time. I think the Canon RP is a vastly underrated camera for the money.
Hey my Guy!, I just switched my zve10 to a zve1. I wanted to ask you for Fullframe Lens Advice. My plan is to stress test the zve1 in my 2 week period with all my use cases and if that doesn't work i will get the a7c2 even though photography isn't really my focus😁. Maybe you can give one for the lens choice. I do make videos in a gawx life of riza style. Do you have like a 2 or 3 lens combo that you think would work perfectly for it? My budget for it is only 700€🤔 i was thinking of a 35mm 1.8 and a 85mm 1.8 to cover the midwide to close up range even though i would probably mis a bit of the 50 range. I do come from apsc so i don't really know yet if 24-70 2.8 would have the same or enogh background blur as my sigma 16mm 1.4 before(but apsc)? 🙈😅do you have a good advice? I'm not a doing any vlogs but filmmaking as a style🤔 And happy new year 💯🥳 may all your dreams become memories😁
I have an old micro 4/3 setup and I'm looking for an upgrade to APS-C, but I'm a complete amateur, I shoot family in jpeg, and I never use any video features. Does it even make sense to go for something hybrid like sony here? Or would it make more sense to go for something jpeg-friendly like a fujifilm? (I know you promote SONY a lot but still, I feel like paying for these video features might not make sense in my use case)
I think Fujifilm makes more sense for your uses. People love Fuji exactly for the reasons you listed. Ease of use, photography recipes in the camera, and how fun and simple those make the shooting experience together. If you plan to do video the a6400/a6700 make more sense though like you said
Great video! Since you are from Iceland, can you create or recommend video on how to maintain camera in peak winter/ snow. I am traveling to Lapland next month with my DSLR. 😊🙌
Im using A6600 because od handling and battery life and also IBIS. Its not that expensive like a6700 but very good for photos. I also have sigma 10-18 2.8, sigma 18-50 2.8, Sony 20 2.8 pancake, Sony 70-350 and Sony 70-200 f4. Im considering selling 70-350 and 18-50 to get Sony 16-55 2.8 or maybe sigma 23 1.4.
Hey, great video. I have a Canon 600D with a kit lens. I want a good camera for 70% video and 30% photo. Should I go for a Zve10, A6400, or Canon 200D? I can't decide. I will mostly shoot travel videos and vlogs, and I don't have a high budget. Thanks.
can I throw another one in there and you know that I'm a bit of a Fuji guy? There are some great little Fuji cameras that are small light affordable lens collection and produce beautiful JPEG's that you don't need to edit much either so if you want those people that just wants to get into photography and you don't want to have to do a whole bunch of editing check out the Fuji X range of cameras. The XT4 is a great camera XT5 which is a little bit more expensive but they do make great little cameras as well. I do think the Sony a series cameras are fantastic as well. Don't get me wrong. They probably have better autofocus than the Fuji but if you are shooting landscapes and stuff and Street auto focus is not really an issue.

When the a6400 was my main camera, then I used Sigma 16mm 1.4 as my talking to head lens. It's great, and it's still great and it's what I would recomend. However I'm not sure if it's still the best option out there, but check it out, i'm sure you can find it for a good price somewhere :)
a6600 - just slightly more expensive than 6400 but much better battery (among other things). Plus, Tamron 17-70 - no need for any other lens for everyday use.
Bought a Sony a6400 used the other week as a second, smaller camera and I'm extremely impressed! I'm also saving up to buy that Sony 70-350mm zoom to do wildlife with! Great review, thanks!
I don’t have any idea about camera and I am so beginner so pls suggest me camera for beginner friendly and i specially use for photos and videos for vlogs pls help me out which Sony camera is best ????
I meant the Sigma 18-50 2.8! Not 16-55 that’s the Sony, and the sigma is a better bang for the buck imo ☺️
I bought the A6400 camera with the 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 kit, and so far im loving it

Sigma 56 1.4 it should compliment the kit lens with its extra reach and its an amazing portrait lens.

a6600 - just slightly more expensive than 6400 but much better battery (among other things).
You will love the 70-350!!! I got mine 4 months ago and enjoy using it with my a6400.
Its an absolute beast of a lens, and when used with the a6400, a mini powerhouse XD
If I am not wrong, a6400 can record upto 4k30
Ye 4K 30fps and 120fps in fhd
@@thaticelandicguy yea u mentioned 4k60 so i was too confuse
Thanks you 👍
No problem my friend!
por un momento pensé que decía un presupuesto ilimitado 🐟 re flashe
I have a deja vu, I guess, this is not first video about budget A6300, right?
I’ve made a few of them ☺️
@@thaticelandicguy This is my current camera I bought on secondhand market last summer.
i bought the a6300 last week as my first camera. and now everyone online is recommending a6400 haha.
It’s kinda the same camera tbh ☺️
If money was really tight I'd go with a Nikon D300
Hehe were you showing off the 6300 while talking about 6400 😜 busted buddy!
❤
lol i noticed I accidentally used the wrong broll there x)
😂❤
A6600 because it has a z battery and sigma 18-50 f2.8. You would never "need" to upgrade your kit again.
🔥
😊
@@thaticelandicguy I honestly regret not starting my photo journey on the A6400, for some reason i went Canon m50 and i regret it every day :D
I'm a fan of your's Icelandic guy, wanna talk to you.
Respond if possible please 🙏🏼
Thank you! :) You can book a 1:1, i don't think there are any available atm but i'm sure some time will open up in the near future
What about instagram?
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
A6300 is the GOAT budget Sony 🤣 soo sad I sold mine.
It’s the goat 🐐
No need to start on a budget, you are literally the most expensive country in the wold
A6700
For sure the best apsc, but not the budget alternative tbh
#SONY6400
Sony gang 🤝
sigma 16-55??
Meant sigma 18-50 2.8, im so used to the Sony 16-55 so I said it wrong. Sigma is better bang for the buck imo ☺️
