Nice challenge, and I believe repetition is the key to get better at both photography and video. Thank you for sharing and wishing you a Merry Christmas if I don’t see you before 😊
Oh yes, will try this challenge, definitely, to make this succeed it's obvious to produce/shoot pictures ahead I bet for posting. Thanks for sharing a great Video, don't know how many years I'm following you now but I bet it's more than 2 years. 🙏
I don't know what it is but I REALLY like you and your videos, it makes me chuckle that you I first thought you was Welsh. I wish you all the best little brother and if you're ever in Scotland I'd be happy to host you for part of your visit!
This video is spot-on. Seriously! I recently retired from coaching basketball (27 years). What you've said here is 100% correct -- you will only get better at "fill in the blank" when you work on it repeatedly. You want to increase your 3-point shooting percentage? Go to the gym and put up 200 shots a day. You want to become a better freethrow shooter? Go to the gym and shoot 250 freethrows a day. You want to become a better photographer? Pick up your camera and go out and shoot. Earlier in 2024 I started a photoclub w/my friends. I call it the Rusty 52-Special 🤣 Cheesy name - yes, but it worked. The goal - post a new photo, based on a weekly theme, every week for a year. Now, because some of my friends are fairly new to photography they didn't really want to post on social media. So I created a shared folder on my OneDrive where everyone in the group has access. Each week I post a new theme for the next week (we're posting weekly for a year, vice daily). I also opened up a Discord for the group where we can talk/chat openly. So the OneDrive is where the photos go and the Discord is where I post motivational things (like this very video - thanks mate) and chat with the guys about all things photography. Some of the group have clearly gotten better (faster) but everyone is doing ok. We're in week 34 at the time - but I just wanted to tell you that you are absolutely right -- and I was stoked to see someone on your level take the time to help the community with this type of video. Everyone in the 52-Special group can see the posts of the other guys. Sometimes it gets a little competitive, but it's a healthy type of competition and for the most part it truly does make us all accountable. Mind you, of the 9 of us, only 2 have posted every week -- which is fine. The one "rule" I have is that you have to shoot the theme after it's been announced -- you're not allowed to use a photo you've taken prior to that. Make sense? Before I put this group together I tried my own "30 day challenge" and learned quickly that it's hard to shoot something everyday. Really hard. Thanks again mate - great video and I know your new 365-day challenge is gonna be a blast -- enjoy!
Oh cool, my entire childhood was basketball, like from early age to 17, then powerlifting took over, and 7 years of that led me to BJJ, where I hold a blue belt with 4 stripes, and now I'm a dad who works around the clock lol. I have a home gym tho, so I try to get the belly fat some what in check x). But yea a group is really fun. I've been enjoying creating this communty a lot. I know not everyone can commit to 1 photo a day. But if I set the standard, then people can: 1. feed of my motivation and dedication (i have a lot of it) 2. get inspired and hop on when they feel like, 1x a week, 1x a day for 30 days, doesn't matter. I'm doing it for a year, and you can come and go as you want :)
I did the same challenge a couple of years ago, but my system was that I had to post a photo taken the same day. That was not a good system! 😅 I ended up quitting after about 150 days. Perhaps I should try again 2025 but with this better system of preparing one week ahead!
yea that can be hard lol. I often did that lol. But I think it's better to just go out a few times a month, take a lot of photos, and just make sure you always have a bank that you're proud of :)
Yeah I gonna do that in 2025 :) Also want to limit myself between 40 - 50mm since the past 1-2 years my focal length was all over the place. See ya in the Darkroom :)
it's actually this guy who first used it i think: ua-cam.com/video/MaO1uCd-gLY/v-deo.html Hormozi templated it, as well as bunch of others, it's a nice title :D
@ it’s a great title! If it works it works, right? The comment wasn’t ment to be offensive or anything i just thought it was funny since this title template is SO popular right now haha
@@williamjackman3075 no offence taken. I actually saw this title a few months ago, wrote it down, and was about to create this video when I saw Hormozi had posted, got a little bummed lol because he is so big and just used it, but figured I just try lol
ua-cam.com/video/MaO1uCd-gLY/v-deo.html This is the first place I saw the title 😂, on youtube it's just about finding title that have worked and using them as a template. Btw just curious where you referring to that video?
Tried out something new today filming just outside my house, more videos like this? :)
You missed color grading on 5:18. Thanks for your videos!
@@mgnmpl yea saw that once I've posted x)
I'm gearing myself up to do this again 👀

Marry Xmas and thanks for tuning in my friend ☺️
Step 1: go to a photogenic location.
Real step 1: shoot street photography. You'll know instantly if you're a good or a bad photographer.
😂
Like this advice. No bs but what you tried and worked for yourself - reflecting that. Respect Mr. Icelandic Guy.
Thanks man! It's just what worked for me, and it's the same as building strength, or anything really, just fucking do it and get them reps in

Yessir! I'll make a post in the Darkroom about it to night and start to get everyone excited :D
@@thaticelandicguy Looking forward to it
Love this video, I will be doing a challenge to advance my skills too. Also hope you are having an awesome time with the Jeep. Have you named it yet?
Love it! Nope haven’t yet 😂 but I’ve had really good times with it thank you!

210kg deadlift at 17 👌🏻🗿☠️
Yea not bad was competing under 90kgx this I was weighing in at 87kg ☺️
I'm bad at posting anything on social media, it would be nice to try how it would go if I tried to post a picture on Instagram every day in 2025😅
