Hello fellow veteran! And parent, congrats. So I have watched most of your videos, plus Steve and Dr at York. So not shy about doing research to self advocating.
2 yrs ago shortly after vaccine, felt off, went to ER and it all starts there with PVC's. Short story absolutely has gotten worse. Ultrasound, stress test, ekg, 3 monitors later, 2,000 initially to now 35,000 in 48 hrs. Referred to EP, and ablation scheduled in April. 2 ER visits, last being last week absolutely scared me out of my mind! Woke up 2am, the normal throat construction, blood pressure 164/108, mouth getting dry. Son driving me as I can get to hospital faster, started to feel like I was going to pass out and feeling like I couldn't talk, that I called 911 on the way. I have episodes that last almost 2 hours, SVT, runs, bigeminy and trigeminal. Just no Afib ever. I will try emergenC, as electrolytes drinks didn't go down well. I'm 53, non smoker, maybe glass of wine a month, have a good diet at a good weight. Very active with 2 teenage kids. Blood pressure controlled last 10 yrs with meds.
These episodes are down right scary. Trying to keep a positive attitude but a 2am ER visit I can not control. Structurally good. Thought 2 back surgeries were scary, this is way scarier.
Thanks for the videos and suggestions. Doing what I can to not freak kids out, thinking ablation for me is last choice. Prayers to everyone that goes thru this.

Thank you so much for sharing, Michelle….definitely scary, glad you weren’t shy about going to ER and even having your son drive you. Ive chatted with many that are hesitant to go to ER and I always urge folks to go if something doesn’t feel right.
have you tried magnesium at all? I know that helps many, upping electrolytes definitely is a recommendation from me.
What was the blood pressure medication you’ve taken for past 10 years? Metoprolol?
I personally will try everything I can before surgery, however, with that said if I had a slightly higher burden rate, physically were uncomfortable or was highly recommended by my EP I would have scheduled an ablation. I think its good you have one scheduled, always can cancel or postpone if PVCs stop or reduce heavily. Ablation is a very safe surgery, my only hope is that the doctors can pinpoint the spot on the heart and zap it so you don’t have to have it done again. Family member of mine has had it done twice for afib with no luck unfortunately, I tell them 3rd time is a charm but at their advanced age they don’t want to go through with it again.
All the best to you and will be praying for you!
Note: Vaccine seems to be top 3 common triggers, but remember many many people had these even before the vax.

@G Wheel I've been on the metoprolol last 6 months, starting at 25mg now to 100mg. Blood pressure meds Lisinopril and spironolactone. My levels have been adequate except last er trip so magnesium has never been suggested, as I try and trust my Dr's.
Thanks for answering, it's a comfortable feeling oddly that you listen.
What about passing out??? Have you seen or heard, as I know it can be next symptom. Have you passed out? Trying to avoid this at all cost, especially because of kids.
I have been with a cardio Dr for years, on the yearly to watch 2 minimal leaking valves, and both Dr's say that is separate issue, so no pvc's prior.
Had a different symptom yesterday, not sure if I heard about this, but like constant pressure pushing from heart out, sensitive to the touch, not with a rhythm just constant. BP and rate still normal but pvc's. I will bring all this up next Wed with cardio Dr. He has placed me on potassium now, my level was 3.3 where within normal is 3.5. Not excited about horsepills so hoping spinach will do.
Thanks again G! Hug that cuteness of a babygirl, and wife for allowing time for you to share!!!

Hi michelle. Have you take a CT to check your heart? Fibrosis also causes PVCs.

5 weeks after my 2nd Pfizer vaccine, I ended up in the emergency room freaking out about my heart. ER doc hooked me up to an EKG for two hours or so and in that time roughly 2-3 PVCs were detected. Referred to cardiologist. He ran EKGs and asked a ton of questions and never attempted a Holter or any other test as he felt that these are super, super mild in me. However he felt that the vaccine caused this and told me that sadly I wasn't the first this was happening too. Before the ER visit and after, I Peloton cycle 3-4 times a week. I do drink 2-3 cups of coffee daily, red wine to occasion and a cigar as well. Some days I feel nothing, and then like today I have maybe 25 an hour and feel out of control (hence looking up PVC videos on here lol). Magnesium does nothing, my largely un-used Metoprolol does nothing, my tiny does of Xanax does nothing, and the omeprazole does nothing, though I do have GERD and wonder if all of this is vagus nerve/gastrocardiac related. I've been stressed the past few days and that has certainly caused a lot more, but I've been working on breathing and meditation. I really enjoy your videos and hope you make more that offer chances for us to comment and learn from one another. All the best mate.

Thanks for your kind words! I know the vaccine has been a cause for ectopics in many people, but like you its usually under a 100 a day and usually only lasts a few weeks.
Metoprolol did nothing for me either, did you take it for at least 2 weeks? I believe it takes at least a few days to get its full effect.
stomach issues like GERD I have found to be the second most common causes of ectopics (after stress and anxiety). I would focus on your gut health and see if that maybe helps out at all? I’m sure you’ve read how so many people with GERD also experience ectopics.
Glad to hear you are working on breathing and meditation, stress certainly wont help with PVCs but its easier said than done to try and relax and not worry about them.
All the best to you and thank you for the comment!

My PACs also started after my COVID vaccine. They started happening over a year ago. At some point, I used to have around 200 PACs in 24hrs. After reading a lot about the potential causes, I stopped eating dairy and my PACs improved tremendously. When I get an infection (such as sinus infection) the PACs tend to come back for a while. For the past week, they are back but I don't quite understand why since I am still not eating dairy and I don't have any visible sign of infection. Perhaps it could be my chronic rhinitis that got a bit worse these days. Well ... These ectopic beats and very frustrating. When they happen, they mostly bother at night. I can't sleep. It's like having someone poking me and waking me up.

Hello, New to this as of approx 30-45 days ago. 59 year old male, have been on keto diet for about a month/lost 10 lbs.
There is a guy on youtube video says cutting out dairy stopped his PAC's.
My Holter monitor showed a scary whopping 16,627 pac's per day, no other events.
Normal recent echocardiogram, electrolyte blood test normal //(sodium at bottom number of range, but always is no matter how much salt eat.
Per doc have been taking 200 mg Magnesium Glycinate for about 10 days.
I take one 50 mg Losartan per day for high BP.
Per that guys video I cut out all dairy for about 4 days. I hope its not a fluke, but my pac's seem to have abruptly stopped. and had 16% ectopic !! TRY CUTTUNG OUT DAIRY FOR ABOUT 5 DAYS.
maybe its magnesium, but prior to cutting out dairy there was not change with just magnesium glycinate.
    2 cents

@@TTheo-cb4jz I was fine for about 5 months since I stopped eating dairy products. But, for the past week, some PACs came back. Not sure why....maybe I have some sort of inflammation/infection recently. I know that whenever I catch some bug the PACs come back for a few days. It happened in the past when I had kidney infection. After the infection got better, the PACs improved.

I may give it a go again, I’ll try 7 days of ZERO dairy and see if I have any change.

i am glad you are having less! mine get worse when my heart rate gets up. i was walking fast the other day and felt a big boom, then 3-4 others, which scared me to death. you would think i would be used to them by now, but every time it happens i get scared. i have been on a low dose of Zoloft for health anxiety the last few months and it has seemed to keep the panic away, but i still can't shake the sensation of each ectopic i feel. had them on and off for 15 years. i guess i should trust my doctors when they say, "you will die, but not from this. these will not kill you" thank you for the update and Merry Christmas/Happy New Year!

Strange that you mention the 0 sugar gatorade. I find they actually trigger my ectopic beats. I've been living with them around five or six years, but they come and go in storms a few times a year. Absolutely agree on the Emergen-C.
I find that eating processed foods or things high in Salt and trigger mine, as well as when I eat too much. I also have GERD though. I'm not huge but I could lose a few pounds to be a bit more athletic. I seem to get them more when my weight goes up.
I'm vegan and my cardiologist says I'm one of the healthiest people he's seen lol.
I do my best to just ignore them. They happen more often when sitting for me, when my heart rate is down to resting (around 45-50bpm is my resting).

    • @gwheel3502
      @gwheel3502  Рік тому +1

It’s weird how one thing can help one person and be a trigger for others, I laid off the Gatorade a bit…found it didn’t really help much more, bananas and the emergen-c I’ll stick with for now as they’ve been an immense help. We have similar triggers in many ways…
GERD I have found to be the 2nd most common trigger after stress/anxiety, glad to hear your overall health is excellent, maybe try and lose a few LBS and you’ll be free of these things forever!
      All the best to you
