Rutger Hauer was one of the most overlooked actors in modern cinema. It`s strange, since he had such an incredible charisma and presence, in every movie that he made. R.I.P............You Sir............ was a great actor......... if there ever was one.......
Rutger seemed like he knew exactly what he wanted when it came to a motorhome. & really i don't think you could get any bigger or better than this. BEAUTIFULLY!!! layed out & he really loved driving such a powerful vehicle. & he looked after it as much & best as he could until we sadly lost him not too long ago. I also think he was a bit underated as a actor although he did star in some AWESOME films. But, this has been so nice to see him giving us a little tour of his BEAUTIFUL!!!! motorhome. Thanks!!!! 😉👍
2 verdwaalde amsterdammers !
Very cool! This video just randomly came into my feed and I’m so glad I watched it! He seemed like a very fascinating man. A unique energy about him. I grew up watching a lot of his films during the 80s and 90s. One of many performance’s of his that I love is his role as Wulfgar in Night Hawks. A very underrated flick! RIP Rutger Hauer 🙏🏻
Very cool. Never knew he had one built himself and had a semi drivers license! When other actors came by limousine he pulled up in his own custom built big rig truck with himself at the wheel. That must have been seriously impressive!
He was the greatest actor ever. The most charismatic and alluring man to ever grace the screen. I loved him. There will never be another like that. The Hitcher was / is my favorite movie.
Got off my flight 2e Kerstdag 1990, LA to A'dam to visit my kids. Early, early morning. Got to the baggage area to get my bags and saw a bunch of people just staring at something behind me... Rutger Hauer struggling with his big shiny clunky film equipment cases. I rushed over and gave him a hand with it loading everything on a couple of carts. At first, I thought some of those just standing there were with him and were gonna help. Nope. All by himself I guess... at least on that side of the glass before going out. I was LA born & raised, and never was a Hollywood "star gazer". But I also spoke pretty good Dutch and I probably sounded like an idiot going back and forth from English, to Dutch, to English again. Yep, just another fan! I'd also just obtained my CDL. I see now he & I shared a love of travel & the road. Wish I could have bumped in to him once more before he passed, to shake his big hand and apologize for my silliness way back then. Share some stories from the road. Very soft spoken and a gentleman to be sure. Het alle beste Rutger!
Rutger Hauer was such a cool guy, Blade Runner is one of the best films ever!. When he rocked up to locations in that rig, all the other actors must have been green with envy!. Interesting to read that the Space Cab was his idea though.
A most brilliant actor indeed. Rutger sends the best cold chills down your spine. Like Clint Eastwood, he was able to make you think he could be like that in real life if need be. There are no other actors who do that to me personally but these two. Luc Besson knew what he was doing when he included Rutger in the ouverture of Valerian, scored with David Bowie's Space Oddity.
Great actor indeed. He aged very fast in his later years. I do not know why! I wish he had been with us longer. He could played an old wizard of sorts then.!
The Blue Wizard perhaps in a Tolkien movie … the Silmarillion ..I know he did look sort of ageless until he got to around middle 60s ish. He was a very good looking man.
Truly a Great actor and an Honorable man. He had a part in Escape from Sobibor, his Best work. He played a Real Jewish Russian Hero that's remembered to this day in Russia and the sister made for him in the camp by Sasha that he wore on the day of Escape is in a museum in Moscow today. 300 charged the gates that day, 60 lived to tell of the Concentration Camp called Sobibor. 250,000 Jews were Murdered and several thousand Polish people. There is a monument at Sobibor for the lost souls the Reich had murdered. Earth Conceal Not My Blood!
Too sad the rig didn't survive. Aren't there any classic DAF trucks left out there to restore, to get the original look of this thing back? Btw, why is the one shown at 0:19 a complete different one? Even the paint job doesn't match.
At the risk of going off on a tangent here, If the climate extremists were serious about any of that climate change stuff, these would be illegal. Along with private jets and yachts.
Incredible. He was a favorite actor of mine. I did not know of his invention and this awesome camper trailer. He was a very talented man. RIP Sir.

Bijzondere man Rutger Hauer.

The trailer is just WOW i want that trailer!

He tells a story about just that in his autobiography "All These Moments".

What a nice oldschool truck. Realy cool vehicle!

Our best actor ever.
He is one of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever met.Come back to conventions soon Rutger
@Steiner Aw that’s awful. The last time I saw him was 2017.He will be missed.
One of the best bad guys ever to be on film!!
Does he pick up hitchhikers?

I met him once.... in an airport.
Shame we didn’t get a Father, Son based movie with Rutger and Mads. I know, Dutch and Danish, not the same but they could have made it work.
R.I.P. Mr Hauer.
the man was the space warrior he portrayed on screen
Rutger Hauer was in the film ‘Hatari’.

Wat n held. Laatste echte DAF

That was a DAF truck that he bought later, when the original truck was sold.
The original truck still lives, but in another livery and without the unique features.
He should have kept the original DAF.
