Have you considered putting all of the cakes on the shelves and the untouched skeins stacked on top? I'm just imagining it might be difficult to access your yarn cakes since they are so high up.
Thank you for the suggestion! I use the cakes less than I use the skeins and they don’t fit as well in the cubes. The cubes are 2 deep of blanket yarn
I didn't realise when I recently bought my first yarn winder that it only makes small cakes, how on earth did you make those enormous yarn cakes?
