    I think a fun video would be a clear the cubby. Pick a cubby and you have to use all the yarn in it and can show us what you make. Then you have an empty cubby when you can put some yarn from down stairs

      Also you can make pot holders or skillet sleeve out of cotton yarn

    People don't realize how easy it is for the stash to get out of control like this! I completely get it. I have a fairly small stash (3 totes) but I still get kinda overwhelmed and go through it to weed out stuff I haven't used. I'm currently on a yarn buying ban unless it's specifically for a project... Our apartment just doesn't have space.

    • @crochetvision
      @crochetvision  7 місяців тому +16

      Yeah I should probably go on a yarn buying ban myself. But then I ask my husband for approval and he says yes. He’s an enabler. So it’s really his fault 😂😂😂

    2 things
    1. Suggestion: when you wind your skeins roll the label up and slip it into the center. Then you always have it and if you have to make more than 1 cake of it, write a label or print a copy of the information from the label from the website where you bought it (copy and paste or copy and print copy) and do the same thing. OR take the label and tape a piece of the yarn to it and put it in a binder so you can always refer bak to it when you need a color way or whatever info you might need from the label, but honestly the first thing is just easier!
    2. I feel your pain on the yarn stash. At least you have a large quantity of it in book shelves. I have like 6 bins in my craft room closet (cant get into the craft room at the moment) 3 boxes in my hallway, 4 boxes in my living room and 6 large Joanns & hobby lobby bags in my living room. Thats just my yarn. I cant even begin to tell you about my fabric stash. You are not alone.

    • @crochetvision
      @crochetvision  7 місяців тому +6

      I normally do put the label inside or put the important parts but that wasn’t as visually pleasing for the video. Or it’s discontinued so it didn’t really matter what it was because I can’t get it any more! But I love the suggestion.
      Thank you for making me feel like I’m not alone!

    I had a huge stash and over the past year, I've been making it a point to work it down. It is finally just about manageable. It takes being focused on the goal and not buying anymore yarn unless you absolutely need it for a current project you are doing.

    Honestly, it was not a fail! You still went through a lot of yarn. But you just struggled keeping track of the yarn you didn’t have labels for. So you just need to find a better system to mindlessly or simply keep track of those skeins without labels… maybe a small clipping from the end of each skein?

    Knitter here--Love watching your video. I, too, have enough yarn to open my own shop. Can a person open a Second Hand Yarn store? Anyway, I wanted to suggest that if you decide to keep labels-you can tuck them into the center of the cakes you wind. I keep my labels because I use various blends of yarns, and I attach the label to the item when I gift or donate it. I enjoy watching your videos.
