The rocker nuts will loosen up over time and cause a lifter tap sometimes. If it keeps tapping even when fully tightened you can get a slightly longer push rod to compensate and fix the problem. Nice car. That's the grande model. I have a 72 coupe with a 302.

Chad I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's a 351 Cleveland in that car. If the radiator return hose bolts down to the top of the block, that's what it is. If it bolts into the front of the intake, it's a 302 or 351 Windsor.
The only way to tell the difference between a 351 C or 302 C is to look at the crank shaft. they will be marked either 302 or 351. Also, Clevo's have that box shape on each tappet cover. Windsors had the symmetrical tappet covers ,almost the same from the early 60's.
302C is very rare and has narrower intake manifold... not likely one in here... Looks like desirable 351C !!! Hose goes down into block... 2 bbl. heads more desirable for street use... 4 bbl. 351C heads had too large and horribly shaped ports...

That's insane. I'd give a lot to know the rest of the story on that car. I can't see that sticker clearly on the back but I think it says Tyner Auto Sales in Moorhead, MS. Moorhead is on U.S. 82 which does indeed lead into TX. 30 years ago those were cheap used cars...maybe they traded their way across the country.
I find it so satisfying to watch you 😉 and what you do. Just recently discovered you and I'm obsessed!!! I have always enjoyed seeing something a little seasoned, and age come back to life. I love these abandoned car videos. This one is to the extreme. First of all because it's not a great year for Mustangs (2nd worst era imo), and secondly because this car is completely trashed. It barely even qualifies as a parts car. Once you cut those trees down and opened the doors I was like, forget it. This one is too far gone. When it wasn't seized and the starter worked...and then it RAN and I had to go change my shorts.
i just love people who make a engine bay into their playground and know what their doing its just incredible the knowledge you got to trouble shoot love mustangs got my 2020 sitting out back now

Hi. how are you doing today.?
It makes me happy seeing such old cars even idling so well, your skill is incredible
Never ceases to amaze how well these cars hold up to extreme elements
@@thomasryan2679 never ceases to amaze me that you think never ceases to amaze is such a worn out cliche
Maybe that modulator vacum is not hooked up for the transmission ,usually gives a harsh bang into gear. It be a nice car fixxed up.
Yeah, those crap modulator hoses rotted off... even on my '78 Ford truck...
Holy, this guy is amazing. So knowledgeable. If I had a dad or grandpa I cant imagine the amount of money Id save on car repairs!!!! if he can do all this, the work I've spent 1000s on would take him 5 mins!
Like to find a car that valuable in that good of condition!
@@BuzzLOLOL that things not very valuable lol.
@@dtoy1809 - Vastly better condition than old vehicles we find here up north to start with...
@@BuzzLOLOL yeah it's got decent bones but I'm saying 73 is not that desirable of a year so I'd hardly call it valuable
I find it so satisfying to watch you 😉 and what you do. Just recently discovered you and I'm obsessed!!! I have always enjoyed seeing something a little seasoned, and age come back to life. I find the smell of fuel, exhaust, and sweat arousing. Keep on doing what you do and I'll keep on watching. Nothing like a man that knows his way around an engine. 😘
Damn rip off the panties already why don’t you, that comment was moist the entire way through.
this guy is so likable, I could listen to him work on old cars forever
This was a fantastic video. Loved the cows buggin ya. You deserve the best brother. Doing great things out here. Love the humor and the way you do things
Thanks for the rescue and for sharing it with the viewers, so very well done, hopefully she will find a new home and a complete restoration.
Loved the moo cows, they are very inquisitive creatures and probably thoroughly enjoyed the change of scenery!
Great content and the music on the drive home was so very good! Well done.
@Cloud I’m doing good, thanks for asking. Hope all is well with you?
@Cloud yea I am having a good day. Thank you 😊
@Cloud you sound really nice and cool, I did love to get to know you more better if that’s okay with you..
@Cloud wow nice, do you have a Facebook if so we can talk on messenger.
@Cloud how about you just creat one huh. Well send me your cell then.!
I would love to see a part 2 to this car..and see it fully restored!! What a fun car..i would love this car..😊
Great video! Authentic delivery with a unique spin which was very entertaining. I haven't seen anything like it, which of course made me subscribe right away. I watch a lot of UA-cam and of course car rescue videos are all over the place, such as graveyard rescue, restored etc so great job creating content that is different and grass roots, enjoyed every minute!
Preshate it. 👍
Hi. how are you doing today.?
i just love people who make a engine bay into their playground and know what their doing its just incredible the knowledge you got to trouble shoot love mustangs got my 2020 sitting out back now
Great video, brother. Like you say - wouldn't take much to make it a driver. Interesting car - 351 2V Cleveland, A/C, and factory gauges/tach; but manual drum brakes - weird. Hope to see more of the Moostang!
...30 years from now that tang will have trees around it again.....
You need to fix that one. Who would not love to have a 73 stang
Can you please post updates on this care, would love to see what you have done since then!!!!
Sold and turned into a race car.
Good aye from Australia. Loved watching your recovery video and seeing you drive through your home town (assuming in the State of Tennessee). Enjoyed this as much as l enjoy that fine whiskey of yours from Lynchburg. Am hoping to get to the States next year. All the very best for the future.
Is it just me or did someone else get emotional after seeing this car driving again after so much time sitting around in a field. Rose from the dead!
Incredible content!
I cried.
I love this video brother ❤ I'm glad there are some good ol boys that rescue left for dead vehicles like this.
You wouldn't be able to do that with a new car.
Love the old stuff
Great work again! Thank you for saving another one.
Hi. how are you doing today.?
Great recovery! Just found your channel a couple weeks ago. Think I've watched everything now. Really good stuff.
Preshate it!
Ohh you all will love his videos amazing jokes and very smart what he does
Hi. how are you doing today.?
FYI, the positive lead on the coil is bc a resistance wire. Drops the voltage to about 9 volts.
Thats crazy it was just being surrounded by a wall of trees in an empty field lol
deserves a 100% original restoration!!!
Hi. how are you doing today.?
Oh man, I loved it, it was as if I was next to you in real time, the cows, the donkeys, the wasps... all this happens when you are in the field and you haven't mowed it. One of the best rescue videos I have seen in a long time. Greetings from a Spaniard from Germany.
That was great to watch! You had many curious Friends Out there! Then the pesky Wasps came at ya! Are you going to showcase more of this Moostang? Peace!
Hi, how are you doing today..?
Right for you said I was thinking the same thing surprised at things that I'll smash and dent it up from cows rubbing on it. Because been there for a while the trees haven't been there forever but a little bit who knows they probably did help save it from the cows a little bit.
I live on an island near the ocean. cars rust out after 15 or 20 years here. its depressing knowing there are places where cares don't dissolve in a decade or two lol
Cows were wondering where their shade trees went.
A solid ford and does a burnout after 30 years.. she aint pretty but she does just alright :)
Sounds like a 351. Nice car. Worth a full restoration. I hope someone gets this classic road worthy again
thats not the most popular year of Mustang but with that 351 i bet it was good for letting smoke out of the rear tires and probably had a lot of top end speed
