Took my score from a 140 to 152😁
I'm actually helping a friend who has failed this test 3 times. This is going to help me help her. Overall it's about knowing formulas, knowing how to do the dance around the equal sign and understanding variables. I'd like to say to her that some people get it, but this is absolutely necessary. Great video.

Question 3 literally blew my mind
Don't give up. Math is often the hardest part of the exam for many people. Just keep reviewing the problem until it makes sense and you are comfortable with it. We do have an excellent Praxis Core Study Guide available at www.praxissecrets.com!

This helped so much! I failed math by 14 points the first time and I'm hoping to pass this time. I'm very nervous, I've never been good at math. But the way you explained these seemed to really help and clear up some things I've always been confused about. I would suggest adding a few slope questions as well, I've always struggled with slope for whatever reason.

Mometrix Test Preparation I PASSED THE GACE TODAY!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!! For anyone that needs a little help, this is the study guide for you!!! I am an audio learner, so I was able to follow along in my mind when she was doing the problems. I would put her in my ear and let her teach away. Once I could sit down and study with paper, I would play this video and follow along and solve the problems as she solved them. I took it three times prior, but this teacher made me understand what my problem was..... I didn't know my formulas. I didn't know what formula to use when I encountered a problem. Once I got to the testing site, I asked my mind to cooperate and remember. I recited the formulas and matched them to a familiar problem. LO and behold, when I saw a similar problem, I automatically knew what formula to use!!!! Then all I had to do was plug in the numbers!!!! D=rt, a2 +b2=c2, 1\2 bh, 2a+b, v=1/3a2h ALL THAT!!!! I FEEL LIKE THE SCARECROW FROM THE WIZARD OF OZ!!!! I FINALLY GOT A BRAIN!!!!!!!! Ifeel smart AF!!

These videos really help me. I failed my math/science exam twice 4 years ago. (barely failed by 2 points) and it was alot harder than people think. I passed the Language Arts/Social Studies first time though, I just am weak at math and science

This test prep is great since there are many "word problems." However, I think she may have made a couple of the steps too complicated, such as the last problem, #25 - I would have just done the proportion solution with 1.094 yrds x 19 = 20.786 yards. Have x / 20.786 = 36" / 1 yrd. Cross multiply and get 748.296 inches. But I guess she is doing every step imaginable which is good too...
Because this is a teaching video, we try to explain the problems step by step so the concepts could be used in other problems. It shouldn't take you nearly as long to solve the problems when you are not trying to teach someone else. My problems for the 5169 math test had a lot of calculus and trig. I agree that these problems presented here are a lot easier than the actual test.
The Praxis videos were very helpful, and in the end, I had to get a tutor to pass it. Too much time has passed since I learned that stuff. She raised my score by over 200 points so it was worth it. Good luck to you!

Did this help anyone with PRAXIS Core test?
So for question five on my calculator, it gives me the answer of 4 hours and 20 minutes while when she writes the equation out, she gets 4 hours and 12 minutes. Which method is best when doing the Math Praxis exam? Is getting 4 hours and 20 minutes wrong when I put in the same numbers, but got a different answer? I also ran into the same issue with the question number 4.

QUESTION #5 . For the last division part, I got 4.2 (answer D) in my Texas Instrument calculator! Why?

Why do you only add 90 once if there are two semi-circular turns?

in q 5 why did u add two more hours in 4: 20???? why do we have to add the time the plane left?
In question 4, it is asking WHAT TIME the 2nd plane overtook the first. The answer we obtained (4:20) is the amount of time it took so you have to add that time to the time it was when the first plane left. The first plane left at 2:00 so 4:20 minutes AFTER 2:00 is 6:20. So confused with wording on some of these questions. Is Praxis as confusing? Question #16... It doesn't specify to find price per share. Just asks how much he bought the stock for. I understood as how much total did he spend on the stock.

+43227nv I just took the Praxis Core Math test, and they provide a simple 4 function calculator for the test. It is on the computer screen, which is kind of cumbersome to use. But, they do allow you to use that. However, outside calculators are not permitted. Good luck on your test. :)

Wouldn't the answer to the first problem be more than just "e"? Should"c" and "d" as well as "e" be the answer?? I'm really confused now.

Question: Is it possible to do 56 Praxis questions in 1:30 minutes.
I would assume the test writers do think that it is possible. Here are some details about the math Core exam from the ETS website: The Core Mathematics test includes numeric entry and multiple choice questions, and will also offer an on-screen calculator to help ensure that questions are testing mathematical reasoning by reducing the chance that a candidate’s wrong response comes from a simple arithmetic error. I'm not really understanding how the answer to problem 13 is $123, I keep getting $117. I'm adding $96+$18+$3 (the $3 is for half of the hour in 4:30).

I know that this way late on this reply but I just saw it so if you still need help here it is. The man makes $12 an hour and time and a half overtime. So he worked 8 hours making $12. 8 x 12 = $96. For overtime half of 12 is 6 so he makes $12 + an extra $6 an hour. He makes $18 an hour and he worked 1.5 hours. 1.5 x 18 = $27. His total take home pay for the day is $96 + $27 = $123.
