Communication skills.There are people who are very grateful for help provided to them but they are unable to express in words and sometimes they appear like they are conning the charitable person,their facial expressions seems like they have lot of attitude but it's just poor skill when it comes to express gratitude.

I don't think the help is small at all, Knate. To walk around in the wrong size shoes or no shoes and socks is painful and uncomfortable. The tents provide protection. The sleeping bags provide comfort and warmth so people are able to sleep, which is important for their health. Giving people a phone so they contact family is critical. It may lead to them getting a home or getting a job. Providing food and liquids when you haven't eaten all day is crucial. Giving people clothes so they can get cleaner and feel human feeds the soul. Just showing people kindness, compassion and company in itself is so important. Thank you, Knate, for all you do ❤

Dang Knate...the patience of a saint. I have worked with this population. They learn bad habits to survive and its funny to watch them not need to use any of them to get what they need. They ask and that's it. Makes me smile. They have no idea what to do with being treated like a human being. Bless you sir.

I don't know what's more stressful, making shorts or long form videos. But I'm loving the longer cuts. You're amazing, Knate. 3:10 the reason homeless don’t want to go in shelters is because they get their stuff stolen, mistreated and also SA happens. It’s sad but they’re better off living outside most of the time

Homeless with my wife and dogs. We will not go to a shelter cause they want to split us and we are aware of the things that happen so we choose to stay in a car instead. It could be worst
Absolutely true! Spent over a year in the shelter because it was during COVID and it was miserable. Soon as I could leave, I did because at least I could keep myself safe better than the shelter did.
@@SidewalkCitizenLA it surprises me Knate doesn’t know this stuff especially when working with the homeless, and he seems to be friendly with a lot of these people so I don’t understand why he can’t just talk to them
A trauma response is not to be confined so your brain feel like you can run away. The shelter must not feel safe enough for such traumatised people. No matter what lead to homelessness it IS trauma inducing to be homeless for whatever reason just by itself.

Often a dog is the only loyal companion for a homeless person.
But yes, it's wiser to buy a person a sandwich than to give them the money for it, lest they go to buy alcohol instead.

I make a dozen lunches and I cold water and hand them out the the homeless a couple times a month or more if I have the money. I don't get many donations. God bless all you do Amen 🙏💙

I loved seeing this. I don’t think people realize everything it takes to do what Knate does. We don’t even see how all the stuff gets packed in the car, packing up the backpacks by him and his wife, ordering supplies, etc. (he’s showed some of that in the past). This really takes a big heart and a lot of time to accomplish.
I love the longer ones. I wish he would do more of these.

They need to get off drugs. Rehab should be offered at no charge.
My granddaughter works at the Homeless Shelter in Reno. I told her about you, Knate. She has heard of you, and what blessed work you do for the homeless. Maybe you should visit the shelter and tell them what they could do to improve. She explained to me the love and concern they have for the homeless, but they have to have strict rules or there is chaos. I don't want to give her name here.
When I lived in Reno I would help people mostly at the big Transit Center. I live in Las Vegas now. I keep looking for a man on your videos named "Mikey". He was a veteran with no legs and in a wheelchair. I trained his dog to be a Service Dog for him. I sure loved Mikey and his dog. He was such a humble and sweet man. People were so mean to him, he said. The last time I saw him was at the Thrift Store on Oddie. His health wasn't so good back then, 15 years ago. My main job just burned down because a drunk guy drove into a gas pump... I'm lucky to have a backup job that will possibly make due but we are all one step to homelessness. Thank you Knate, I wish I had someone like you when I was homeless but glad you are around brotha... recommend people to get jobs in security.
Your days are insane! The shorts make things look simple but you can handle a lot simultaneously. I loved seeing so many people helped at once, and how you go about it.
Idea for a future video: teach us how to do this. Share your tips on things like the best way to go about this in a way that is most helpful for those who need while keeping us safe (because not everyone our there is in a good state of mind), how to pick and activate a phone, most needed items (other than tents, sleeping bags, socks, and the backpacks), etc. Your video on what all you put in the backpacks was awesome! Similar to Reno, my area has a lot of shelters and resources but not enough and not everyone can or wants to to use them. We learn a lot from watching your videos but knowing what's happening in your head would help us apply your experience.

To help people that don't have a way of taking much with them. Walmart sells carts . Come in small,medium. I use mine a lot. It's located around vacuums near back of store

@@sherimcknight8984 fortunately there are compassionate people, just not the loud ones. The last time I was homeless, I was roofied and graped. From the homeless shelter. (Not their fault). It's a really precarious existence. I will sacrifice everything to keep a roof over my head because I am not doing that again.

I'm almost 78 years old and God has supplied all my needs. You’ve inspired me and I don’t have much but I’ve been making food preps and taking them down to the local homeless shelter ❤
The city of Las Vegas went to one of the shelters and picked up all of the tents on the outside of the gate and took everyone's stuff to the dump ! Mine included. Everything I owned that wasn't in my backpack was gone when I came back from the library looking for work.
The tents are an issue. The homeless are refusing services.
I love what you do for the homeless, but more than that, I love how you treat them. With respect and genuine friendship!
