i’ve learned with direct dye color removers that they rarely remove the red pigment, i would definitely recommend a oxidative remover to remove red direct dye. but i definitely loved your video very informative. i do say ddl with water is best to remove blue/green hues. i’m using the matrix color remover today on a client to remove tone on tone. i’m nervous 😬
Just in time!! I need to remove blue in my hair I just got done pulp riot canvas remover with water mixture and I need to try Matrix cult next to remove it fully Update: I just used 2 packets Matrix cult color eraser formulated with deionized water on my Blue hair that was bleached to level 9 prior, it removed all my blue within 30 min under hair cap and natural heat (goal reached). Pulp Riot Canvas left me with green residue, maybe cause I didn’t use their developer mixture, I formulated it with regular sink water. Maybe it has to do with the minerals in it 🤷🏽♀️ I guess it really depends on the color
@@CosmoDad I would love it if you tried schwarzkopf bond enforcing color remover I have seen some people use it on demi permanent, and permanent hair dyes and it seems to work really well, while leaving the hair is great condition. I personally have used it on permanent dye and it worked great, and i didn't notice any residue dye being left and no damage either. I have also used it to lighten me hair little which it did do, while leaving my hair soft and un damaged as well. So I would honestly love it if you tried using schwarzkopf bond enforcing color remover on semi permanent dye and comparing it to the results of the ones you showed here. Because from what I have read and such schwarzkopf bond enforcing color remover should work on any and every type of dye.
In the US, direct dye and semi permanent are the same thing. In some markets, what we call Demi permanent is labeled as semi permanent. Either way, a direct dye remover is still the way to go
I have arctic fox sunset orange on my hair and I don't know what will get rid of it. I bleached it once and its now a pale orange... Idk what to get to remove the orange. Im just overwhelmed.
It kind of depends on what you want to do next. Are you done with bright colors or do you have the next one picked out? Or are you trying to go back to your natural color?
@@CosmoDad Me too! I really hate the sponsored videos who don't show you the actual outcome. I have had my hair bleached before to remove blue and it did almost nothing. I think it's maybe just a perspective thing. Compared to the other colors blue did great, but maybe if the swatch had only cool tones it'd be more obvious?
It kind of depends on what your goal is. If you want to go to a darker color or a purple, you may not need to remove it at all. If you are wanting to go blonde, it may take several tries over time. For the sake of your hair you have to be patient. I like Malibu C DDL XL with 20 volume.
I watched someone or read that you have to use the company removers with the company direct colours? but the way i perceive it is chemistry is chemistry ? what do you think? Also there is the technology with direct dyes by the japanese company using the electrostatics ..blah blah Not grasped it all yet..and they penetrate the cortex as well as sit on and within the cuticle layer .. None of these results are a clean canvas are they? The best way forward may be to naturalize the direct colours but this all depends on the unique situation at hand?
oooh, so much to unpack here. The chemistry is the chemistry... in most cases. I haven't heard of this Japanese product, do you know the name? If I'm not mistaken, they all use "electrostatics". Sounds like a marketing term like when manufacturers label their conditioners as sulfate free even though none of the others have them either 😂 Semi color can be very difficult to neutralize and most times clients want to go lighter anyway 😑
@@CosmoDad God knows, just reporting what i read..and i don't profess to understand what i read alot of the times..I think it was for goldwell..they developed the pigments and elumen. Did you mentioned that the Elim8 for oxidative colors doesn’t work on direct dye? I actually use it all the time on my guests’ hair and it works really well.
I don't get the baking soda developer thing. I've tested it with really underwhelming results. All the colors on the swatches are SoColor Cult and sometimes it can be tough to remove. Maybe I should do a part 2 with a bunch of different brands of color...
Hello, so basically I'm from a small country. And here people who work in a saloon they said to me that, permanent hair straightening or hair dyeing can a thin waterproof barrier on hair! Is that true? Can any of the product does this? Please let me know?!
No products will make a waterproof layer on the hair. Many products can make the hair humidity resistant, which can help reduce frizz and maintain your style but the hair is still able to absorb water and be cleansed.
Wow, this channel and your content is extremely underrated. Hoping the algorithm gives you the boost you deserve!
Loved this video! We need more review/educational vids like this one. This was perfect

Thank you so much for the update! I do think it really does depend on the condition of the hair and the color used.

WOW...this is the BEST Comparing on UA-cam! LIKE....best hair color removal is SUBRINA Eliminator
I have not heard of that one. It doesn't seem to be available in the USA. I will try it if I ever get an opportunity
@@CosmoDad I know, unfortunately it is a product from Slovenia (Yugoslavia)...i am from Czech.....Subrina working very well

Ugh I am so happy I found this videooo
It looks like straight up bleach removed the blue tones really well, I didn't expect that. These are really honest results though
Thanks for watching! I was more pleased with the just straight bleach than I thought I would be

At some point I'll be doing some more comparisons. I'm always trying to refine the process.

Estel Rusia is the viner🎉
Either they all lose or that's just some really strong dye 😂
Aka Aislin's baking soda and developer mixture seems like it would outdo those
