So if I am bleaching my hair, and I do 1:1 ratio at the start, and then my next mixture use 1:2, will that speed up the second section to help it process faster/catch up to the first bleached sections of hair?
Definitely good thinking. I have found the most effective thing is keeping your mixture fresh, no matter the ratio. 1:1 tends to dry out but keeping a consistent ratio and remixing every 20 minutes yields really great, consistent results
I colored my hair copper but since I had my hair wine red the red shows thru the copper. I was told to create a green diy shampoo with food coloring in green n add shampoo to cancel the red. Is this accurate n does it actually work? I don’t want any red showing just copper.
This is an example of a time where you wouldn't want to neutralize but enhance. If you follow through and add green, your best case result is brown. Copper is red and gold. You need the red in order for the copper to show up. What you need is to add a sufficient amount/depth of gold to the existing red for it to begin reflecting copper.
I regret it and I don’t know why I was so obsessed with getting one, and I’m supposed to have it again in 4 months (but I’m not going to). Do you think there is hope for the curls to come back?
If the treatment was done properly, and it was truly a keratin treatment, then your curls should come back. They may not be 100% by the time your next appointment would have been but they should continue to improve
Thanks for also studying relaxed hair ❤
The last time I highlighted my hair I used this technique and it turned out really well.im going to use highlight combs next.
Thank you for the best and honest review. No negativ ions, not the hottest and very short cable are definitely a big no for me.
I’ve done the keratin like 6 times already two of them were permanent I’m not sure if those were keratins but they’ve all worked great and my natural hair would come back after 3-5 months I did the second permanent like 6 months ago and my roots haven’t really grown and even might’ve burnt? I’m not sure but my hair on the top grew a bit it’s pin straight and it’s just flying up and it’s short but not baby hair short I don’t know what happened but I’m trying to revive my natural hair
Please, next time use more light in the set when showing the samples. Great video though. Thank you.
Wait, they don't have negative ions???
Hi Cosmo Dad, I just found your videos and I love nerding out with you! I need some new shears and I'm so confused on what shears to buy. What makes a good pair of shears? Should I spend a $1000 on a pair? Are $400 shears just as good? I have a pair of Shiros and they cut really well. Just thought you might enjoy geeking out on this subject. Thanks!
Thank you so much for posting this video! Very tactful and to the point, and it made me realize that I need to buy some which I’m going to do right now.

Ur good❤
I like this video
Excellent descriptions and metholodicalness. Appreciate the need to explore this and share with everyone.
DO use Splat (Midnight) 1. If other dyes won't stick in your hair and you don't want color fade. 2. If you don't want to use bleach before dyeing. 3. To cover grey hairs. Do NOT use Splat 1. If you care about the surfaces you use being dyed for awhile if you don't clean hard. 2. If you're not willing to cover hands while you dye. 3. If you care about the skin/nails you leave it on for more than a few seconds being dyed for days. 4. If you want to change your color drastically, soon. 5. If you MUST use cheap sulfate shampoos every day. Basically, Splat Midnight dyes are just *potent.* Several uses in one bottle for short hair. If you don't use sulfates you will keep your color rich quite awhile.
How long after a perm should I wait to get a keratin treatment?
I had a keratin treatment but my hair was not brittle or dry. My hair has grown out but my ends are still straight. I had no curls pattern. I can no longer go back to my natural 4c hair where I did a two strand twist. My end are straight and new growth is coming in. Does a keratin treatment require it to staybon your hair for 3 days without getting wet? I dont fall into your 3 scenarios. I can 2 strand twist the bsck of my hair and my curls pattern is back. I can two strand twist some of my sides but the ends are straight. The top of my head forget it. Its straight and no curl.
My hair is falling of and shedding so much after a nanoplastia treatement .. my scalp is itching so bad , gressy and have dandruff please what can I do !!! Should i wash the product of with sulfate shampooing??? :😮 @cosmodad
This is going to be a DIY game changer
Awesome video thanks
I have 40 and 20 10 and want to make 30. Should i mix 2 parts 40 and one part 10?
That would work! As well as equal parts 40 and 20
Amazing ❤
How do you use this method to remove only the hair cuticles
Oh noo
I received a Kerasilk Smoothing Treatment. Is there no way of removing this product out of my hair?? Do I have to wait months to grow it out?
I do want to try though Because I lost my chord somehow lol And my hair is annoying me now
That one Rocks (pun intended)
I had a 3900 for years and love it! Would you replace it for the Anemos for daily personal use?
My hair is curly and I dry it straighting and giving some style to the ends using a brush, so I guess Laifen is not for me. Thank you for the review.
So put it on the roots last n less time? Im lost help
I've got red n blonde roots and I've been doin a light auburn but I put roots first for 20 minutes n then do the rest for 5 min
Kératine treatment made me shed like crazy. My hair is so thin now. I had full hair and 4a curls and ringlets. Now I have pin straight ends and curly roots. I also had an incredibly itchy scalp for like 2 months. I had my treatment over 6 months ago and there are no signs whatsoever of my kératine treatment going away. I will have to cut most of my very long hair off. Or walk around looking crazy with two different textures in my hair. I suspect I didnt get an actual keratin treatment. I think it was a relaxer. My hairdresser has nagged me about getting it forever and I gave in. I never should have trusted her or listened to her.
This was fantastic! Had no clue about all the difft structures of hairs available. Thx!
I'm just wanting to trim my beard so I think it does that pretty well
You can ajust them by bending the springs a little. I ajusted mine like that. T9 vintage has a plastick bottom but there r a lot of trimmers like that with full metal bottom
if i have a super vibrant blue how do i find a vibrant orange that would “cancel it out” aka make my hair darker? if i get the ratio wrong & have too much blue or too much orange then would it mess it all up?
Thank you for your review! I've been thinking about buying this dryer. Personally, the fact that it's cooler than most hairdryers is a huge selling point for me. Based on the reviews I've seen where people put it to the test, it seems to dry their hair really fast, and if it can do that with less heat, I prefer that. Another selling point is the fact that it apparently checks the temperature 100 times/minute and you can set it to cycle through the different heat settings to avoid applying too much heat to one section. However, I can see how the low heat would be a deal breaker for a professional, I think this is probably much better for home users. Also, all those specs seem to correspond to the claims on their website, so one can't be too mad about it either way. HOWEVER, the one thing that has left me quite perplexed is the ionic output. Their website says it has a "billion-level negative ion generator to neutralise static electricity generated during the blow drying process, leaving hair shiny and smooth after drying". I tried to ask for further information on their online chat feature, and I even mentioned your video. I only got ai-generated responses, but I thought I would share them anyways: "The effectiveness of measuring negative ions can depend on the equipment and methods used by the reviewer. Some consumer-grade ion meters may not be sensitive enough to detect the levels of negative ions produced by the hair dryer. Additionally, environmental factors and the distance from the ion source can also affect the readings. [...] It's possible that the reviewer's ion meter may have varying sensitivity levels or calibration settings that could affect its ability to measure the negative ions produced by different hair dryers. Additionally, the design and technology used in the Laifen Swift hair dryer might differ from other hair dryers, potentially influencing the measurement results." I don't really know what to make of it, especially because they're ai-generated responses. One would hope they wouldn't make a claim like that if weren't true, I mean, I'm pretty sure it classifies as false advertising? I really wanted to buy the swift hairdryer before coming across this review, and now I just don't know. Edit: I emailed customer support, and will report back if I receive a response. Also, I did some cursory research using chatGTP to see if the AI assistant's responses have any truth to them, and I'll copy paste the results below. - Device Sensitivity or Calibration Issues: The ion detector might work effectively with some hair dryers but fail to register ionic output from others due to differences in the strength or distribution of the ions emitted. For example, if the Laifen Swift emits ions at a different intensity or in a more concentrated airflow, the device might not detect them properly unless positioned in the optimal location. - Variation in Ion Emission Design: Hair dryers with ionic technology might emit ions differently based on the design of their generators or airflow mechanisms. If the ion detector is calibrated for a specific range or type of emission, it could miss readings from devices that operate outside these parameters. - Environment or Usage Factors: Ionic emission can be influenced by environmental conditions (e.g., humidity, temperature) or how the device is being used during testing. Differences in how the air is directed or dispersed could affect the reading even if the dryer is functioning as intended. - Potential Unit Defect: It’s also possible that the specific Laifen Swift tested by the reviewer had a defective ion generator, leading to no measurable ionic output. Such defects could be isolated and not representative of the model as a whole. - False Positives from Other Devices: The detector may have measured ions from other hair dryers due to differences in testing conditions or positioning, which might not reliably replicate the Laifen Swift’s setup. Once again, I have no idea what to make of any of this frankly, I've never used an ion detector and have no clue how any of this works. Just thought I'd leave this here in case you had not taken these factors into consideration and wanted to perform another test. Update! This is the response I received from laifen customer support: "All our hair dryers contain a negative ion generator, but please note that we cannot confirm whether the test device in the video is in good condition or malfunction, or if the testing method is accurate. Therefore, it is not recommend refering to the information in the video. Please be assured that our products are also covered by a 2-year warranty period." It's not particularly reassuring, as they have not provided any evidence to verify their claim. However, I'm guessing customer support might not have access to these kinds of documents and might be required to follow a script and therefore not even be allowed to escalate the query to someone who would. I might just buy the dryer and see how I get on.
Thanks for the explanation in a barber And I work in a salon now .. considering adding more professional services

Looks like you have extensive experience of pressure bieng exerted on your ring!
Ive been tryung to get blackest-black hair for the last three years and have been failing miserably. I couldn't ynderstand why until i saw my hair shing in the sunlight ine time and noticed how fucking red it still was. Im assuming blue would be able to cancel it out, and rhen i could go over that with black hair dye.
Well… that was fun. Umm…
I just got the JRL manual clippers (off Ebay). Definitely more expensive but high quality. Cut my hair, didn't feel any pulling. I'm impressed!
I dyed my hair chocolate brown but holy cow it turned out extremely red! Would something like Punky colour depositing shampoo in green remove red from the red brown and only leave me with a dark brown?
It wouldn't remove the red but may neutralize it. Usually color depositing shampoos(especially greens) take a few uses before you really see the results. Once the green deposits your hair will look like a richer brown but probably a little darker too. The reason it's important to note that it only neutralizes and not removes is because it is likely that the green will fade and the red will come back. All this means is that you will then need to apply the green again. Thanks for watching!
Cosmo dad, I am confused will it be better for my afro hair if i use one part bleach and three parts 15 vol?
