Thanks for the super-budget vid. I recently helped a friend of mine research knives in this sub-$25 range because he wanted something he can buy a couple of and not be too upset if/when he loses one on the job. A few brands stood out: Ganzo, Sitivien and Eafengrow. Some of their options get up to D2 or 8CR and even a few with crossbar locks. I was honestly pretty impressed with the couple I got. They won't beat a Kizer, Vosteed or Civivi, but for what they are, thumbs up.
You would do better with Sitivien, Eafengrow and Ganzo than you would for all 5 of these. Those 3 companies actually make some pretty great EDC knives. I just bought a pretty nice Eafengrow fixed blade for $40
The Eafengrow EF235 blows every knife on here away. It is worthy of EDC. Very smooth ball bearing pivot, smooth non assisted flipping, D2 large blade, G10 scales, deep carry clip and a decent weight. Currently $18. I realize these are Amazon's top sellers, not your picks. Just shows how many bad shoppers are out there.
I have picked up knives under $20 for gifts before. They were Blade HQ deal of the day or discontinued knives with better steel. None of these Amazon best sellers impress. Interesting video Wayne, thanks for sharing!
Fun fact the mini Praxis sell over 4k every month 12 months a year crazy when u see less than 300 reviews on something like a racoon and thats really popular...smith and wesson sells more knifes every year than the top 5 budget brands combined lol
My edc is a Duratech that I got off Amazon for $10. It’s a frame lock, and it locks in the middle. Great grip, G-10, and the steel they use is what you’d find on $75+ knives, it’s 8CR13MOV. Good quality build for the price. Solid edc knife that is easily replaceable if you lose it? I own several. They sharpen well. For $10 that has features of a more expensive knife. It would blow all of those that you showed out of the water.
And I also own that Smith & Wesson and it’s crap. My Duratech kills it. Not even comparable. Duratech is a Chinese tool company but they make a knife that has the features and build quality of a knife 5-7 times its price at only $10. Solid knife. Doesn’t rattle. Decent steel. Works smoothly, G-10 excellent grip, and it’s a quality frame lock sitting at the middle point of the bottom of the blade.
Thank you! I myself own several cheaper knives, but I'm also a collector, trader, and enthusiast of great knives. I really hate the fact that people take a dump on cheaper knives, many people who actually USE knives and understand the price of a knife ans quality doesn't matter when you lose or break then on a regular basis. It would be stupid for me to carry and use a 200 dollar knife , scratch it, chip it, get dust on or tar or whatever stuck to it. I am a property manager in the mountains, I literally do everything from build things, cut wood, electric, roofing, whatever is needed, so carrying a expensive knife woukd be pointless, they all break and get destroyed sooner or later, or fall and get lost. All the people who say tgey wouldn't buy these or a cheaper knife just doesn't use them. We actually need videos testing and showing the best cheap knives for actual use.
That was entertaining, the business in the front and party in the back cracked me up pretty good. Yeah, I don't even like buying D2 anymore even though I know it's carry worthy.
Cheap knives are great! I collect great knives, but i di work that destroys any knife, idc how expensive or how many great deatils are added, knives break lol. The best knives ive found for work are mora and ckrt , they last a decent amount of time, and dont kill me to replace them when they do break or get to the point they dont serve the purpose anymore. Honestly, we need more videos to educate for knife users , not just for whats cool or costs xyz. There is a major difference between what i collect because i love knives, and what i use on a day to day basis , doing actual hard work. Most knife destruction videos dont cover actual use. I dont cover how fast , even the most expensive flippers can be destroyed on a construction site by dust or tar, or how fast a fixed blade wears out in work situation, i can sharpen my fuxed blade, but eventually there isnt enough left blade to bother with. When it comes to folders, yes i can take them apart and clean and oil them, but i don't have tome for that , use them and replace them.
Lol reasonably sure some of these knives have no affiliation to the companies they have so boldly displayed on the blades! The "Kershaw" models for example are abundant on the eastern websites with models out of production for more than a decade already.
Haha this was an excellent idea for a video. I mean we turn our noses up at the crap out there but some of them do last sad to say. But building on your “upgrade” ideas, the Ganzo Firebird FH12 for 26.95 is an outstanding knife in terms of action. D2 blade, frame lock, all steel construction and unnecessarily smooth closing action and flips out great. That along with my mini Praxis are my long distance traveling knives for how good they are and how easy and cheap they are to replace.

Agreed. Eafengrow makes some pretty good knives
That Smith and Wesson made me lol.
I bought a $7 Kershaw because I needed a bottle opener and it happens to slice limes well and I don’t care if it rusts.
Do they offer a timascus Funbro?
The Free Tiger FT2103 is right at 20 bucks on there, and it's a great deal! It has a Crossbar lock and reminds me of a Ganzo
And it’s in D2.

Right on

I like to find knives at Chicago Knife Works. They’re dang cheap, and shipping is free for $100 orders (otherwise it’s kinda pricey).
That was entertaining, the business in the front and party in the back cracked me up pretty good. Yeah, I don't even like buying D2 anymore even though I know it's carry worthy.
thanks for showing the budget options
No problem!
U can make this same video on Temu with knifes in the same tier except you can make the video with a $10 or less price. Its crazy
All truck stop knives
If I had under $20 I would get them a Mora fixed blade. If it had to be folding probably a more modern eafengrow knife. None of these lol
The worst thing is that a lot of the people who buy these will probably be discouraged from buying more knives in the future. 😢

I think i have a similar S&W knife from when i first started. Embarrasing😅
Lol funbro. Seriously tho, those are horrible, horrible knives
Wow i wouldn’t even pay 5 bucks for any of those…..
I wouldn’t pay 5$ for the whole lot
The mini praxis is the only one worth a damn
Not interested
Ehh video
Gerber is Absolute Trash.
True dat
They all were
first 😂 saw this 30 sec after upload

My go to gift knife is the Civivi Mini Praxis. I just checked, I have bought 12 of them from Amazon haha
Just bought the Cjrb crag for $17. The Remette seahorse is on sale for $12.70. 2.8” D2 Sheepsfoot blade with thumb hole and flipper. Great deal.
Sorry the crag was $22.
