Here in the Western US, if you mention Washington, nobody thinks of Washington DC! From Colorado/Kansas west, Washington is Washington State! I've been to a few of these parks. They are gorgeous! Fort Casey is the only one that still has all of it's guns in place. Such beautiful Pacific Northwest scenery!
Not to get nit picky but you put Washington D.C. The only problem is that all the places on this video are in Washington state, clear across the country
My thoughts exactly, and Camp Lewis never merged with anything, Fort Lewis re-combined with McChord which was originally the US Army Air Corps anyways. This is obviously not a local or very informed or he just didn't do as much research and he'd like some to think! I remember the WWII Barracks on North Fort had Heat for 3 weeks a months and was an Ice Box for 1 because they never fixed the heating system. Then they built the new Barracks which were pretty cozy and much more roomy!!
You forgot a major one. The armory at Seattle Center was built to house tanks and military vehicles to help defend Seattle against a seaborne invasion. Its walls were designed to protect against 15 inch battleship shells. Now part of the Seattle center, the armory hosts many cultural events and is home to the center school for the performing arts.
@@judyostrom8972Nope, none of these are anywhere close to the East Coast. ALL are in Washington State which again is not DC. He also makes false claims as Fort Lewis has not been called or named Camp Lewis since before the Korean War minimum, it was Fort Lewis when my Father In Law was stationed there in the lat 50's early 60's and forward. I have deep roots to Fort Lewis both Main Post and North Fort.
You never mentioned Camp Murray either but since you brought up Fort Lewis under its original name one would think Camp Murray deserves a little mention being literally across from Madigan entrance or makes the triangle between Lewis-McChord-Murray.
@themerlynn yes it is try going there sometime there is a door labeled military personnel only it's locked and keypad. If it wasn't being used you wouldn't keypad the door just lock it.
You are only partially correct on "Camp Lewis" it was never abandoned and did not merge to become Joint Base Lewis-McChord. It was redesignated Fort Lewis DECADES before I know this because I have numerous family members who were stationed there on Main Post and North Fort or North Fort Lewis.
not sure why Camp Lewis is on this. its now JBLM. you did list a lot of the popular ones in the state (not the D.C. like it says in the description) but what about Fort Whitman in La Conner? if we're talking about abandoned that place is probably the most abandoned out of all of the ones on the list.
I think this was an AI generated script, at least. Just enough errors and repetition of the same phrases to make it sound that way. In addition to calling it DC, there’s also the inclusion of active bases and Northern State was not a military base. Nice collection of photos, though.
Putting FT. Lewis, now JB Lewis-McChord in this video is stupid. It is not abandoned as your title suggests. Also, could you not keep showing the same pictures for different installations. I'm sorry I wasted my time with the first half of the video, not going to keep watching.

Thank you so much for pointing it out! I haven't noticed that I've put Washington D.C. in the title for some reason.
@@ghosttownchroniclesYou also said “Washington D.C. in the beginning of your video.
Abandoned bases huh? *puts JBLM on the list*
😂😂 Yep
Ft. Lewis isn't abandoned... why is it in this video?

There is a HUGE difference between Washington State, and Washington D.C.

sadly, this is about the East coast Wa DC, not the State of WA...bummed me out!!!
@@judyostrom8972The UA-camr said Washington D.C. in the beginning but it is actually Washington State.

Fort Casey - hope to go there in the future.
They have examples of “the big ten inch” (gun) there.
click bait :(

Where's the building in the thumbnail?
That was the only reason I watched this!!
Fort Warden doesn’t have an s at the end.
Fort worden is actually used still as a listening post there are sections labeled military personnel only on locked secured doors
No, it's not
@themerlynn yes it is try going there sometime there is a door labeled military personnel only it's locked and keypad. If it wasn't being used you wouldn't keypad the door just lock it.
There's none of the radio antenna needed for a listening post at fort worden. The closest there is is at the coast guard post at the lighthouse

The movie officer and a gentleman was filmed in Washington state
That was Fort Warden. Neat place.
