- This product training video demonstrates how to connect an iOS device to a 2017 KENWOOD BT audio receiver for use with the new KENWOOD Remote App.
Updated Procedure: Close out the KENWOOD Remote App if it is open on your iPhone. Then, pair your phone via BT to the receiver. After that, go to the Standby source on the receiver, then change the Remote App connection type to iOS. Next, change the source on the receiver to iPod BT. Then launch the KENWOOD Remote App from your iOS device. The app should change from displaying Media Player to iPod BT. The video method should work, but since producing the video, there have been updates to the app to simplify the process.
Nice! great job you guys! much needed feature.
Love it! Good looking
Could you make a full walkthrough of the app? Will station names be displayed in the App in driver mode? Presets by station name would be a killer feature. The Pioneer ARC app looks nice but is not available for iPad mini and I would rather buy the Kenwood because of the 4V pre outs.
Works great thanks 👈😎👉
Apple is not the only company out here
Is the app supported in both landscape and portrait modes? Looking to run this app on my in dash ipad.
Emory, the app is only designed for iPod/iPhone or Android, not the iPad. There may be a way to use the app on an iPad, but it is not a supported device. Thanks!
The stereo show an icon or something bc I can't set up 🤔🤔 with my IPhone 6S
Does it work with iPhone 8+, and a kenwood bt225u radio?
Yes.
Will it work with KMR-D365BT?
Hello Erick Meadows, the KMR-D365BT does not support KENWOOD remote App. Thanks!
Does the remote app show Radio data such as RDS, and Artist/Song if unit supports HD Radio?
Yes, our remote app does display FM channel station name and information. Thanks!
Whats the range in the remote can i be outside the car
It uses Bluetooth, so the range can vary, but be up to 33 feet.
Will it work with USB source as well?
The KENWOOD Remote APP is designed to only work via Bluetooth, not USB. Thanks!
Sorry if I wasnt clear enough, I mean control of a USB source like a thumb drive with music on a USB port
Yes, you can control a USB source.
Thanks
Sorry, I had purchased a kenwood unit on June and I had to return it, because USB source control from remote app was not possible in IOS. The Bluetooth connection was lost once USB source is selected. It was also stated in the printed instructions. Had this issue been solved in October 2017?
Coming from Spanish manual of KMM-BT203 at remote APP section, "La conectividad de la aplicación será interrumpida o desconectada si:

Como se pone en español

Please try the following: Close out the KENWOOD Remote App if it is open on your iPhone. Then, pair your phone via BT to the receiver. After that, go to the Standby source on the receiver, then change the Remote App connection type to iOS. Next, change the source on the receiver to iPod BT.
