How do I reset this thing? My USB suddenly stopped working. I've checked my thumb drive on my computer and it works fine. I've tried other thumb drives and they work fine on my PC but will no longer play on my KDC-X399. I'm using FAT32 file system so no problems there. My car battery did die and that's when the problem started. The Tuner still works, everything works except the USB, which is the reason I bought this thing, so I can listen to my own music.
Is there a speed control setting similar to my factory radio? I'd like the volume to adjust based on the speed I'm driving. I hate having to manually adjust the volume when my speed changes since it was built in to my factory radio. Thanks.

Muchos factores pueden crear un exceso de calor, es posible que tenga una mala conexión a tierra o un cable de alimentación insuficiente. La resistencia del cableado deficiente es generalmente el primer culpable del exceso de calor, pero es normal que haya calor en el aluminio.
My- x701 has issues since new and not sure/afraid to update the firmware. MANY times theres NO sound even tho it shows the radio station,CD, AUX, or Bluetooth playing on the screen.(NOT a installation issue & both my amps are on when it happens) .It sounds when it feels like it. Also switches function on me by itself after just selecting one. Sometimes it will "disconnect" after just selecting a function also. Just tried pushing/holding the reset button & it doesnt even reset anything (dont hear it reset & everything stays programmed. Has a mind of its own. Its a shame cause sound quality/adjustments/control of music is off the charts really......
We haven't seen issues like this from this receiver, as these type of symptoms are usually due to parts that are external to the receiver itself. A firmware update would be a good place to start regardless, but I would suggest isolating external parts, such as third party steering wheel controls if applicable etc., to see if any of those parts are causing the issues.
I must say then- I regret I chose a Kenwood headunit this is from someone whos been a fan of the brand for ages. -These issues are really unacceptable as there is no resolve/ update. I really doubt Im the only case....

I only have the mic connected that comes with the stereo, & the sometimes the USB to charge my phone (symptoms still exist without it connected). I have 2 aftermarket amplifiers that both always power on. When I have no sound which is very often, -I can get it sounding again eventually by cycling the power on & off till it sounds again. And almost always, when I select one function & a second later it switches to another on its own & usually goes back to no sound. Also, sometimes it will say not connected when it is. Sometimes it will get stuck on one function too. It really does have issues not related to the vehicle itself ,installation, or the 2 amplifiers. Believe it or not.------- Thanks for taking time to reply......
Is it possible that the receiver's remote control is in your vehicle and being pressed against by something? This could explain why the sources are changing randomly. As for the "no sound" issue, despite the amplifiers still being powered on, it is possible that the amps are not actually outputting. Depending on what gear you have to troubleshoot with, you could plug a tone generator into the amplifiers RCA inputs while you are experiencing the issue to determine if the amplifier is still outputting. If you don't own a tone generator, you could consult with your local KENWOOD dealer to see if you could purchase one from them. If that is beyond your comfort level, it may be worth your while to pay the local dealer to go over the installation to determine the root cause of the issue. Thanks!

On a KDC-X399, try removing the faceplate, then pressing the reset button with a pin.

how much music can I add to a thumb drive. the kdc hd545u I have only lets me add so many folders.
999 folders/20,480 files (999 files per folder) - but can vary depending on structure.
