- We review the final model year for the Dodge Durango Hellcat, the ultimate 3-row SUV with V8 power and supercharger noise. As fun as this is, we discuss rose-colored glasses, price, and some engineering. Would you choose this over a BMW X7, Audi SQ7, MDX Type S, or Mazda CX-90?

"Yell at your wife in the Applebee's parking lot" could be the best way I've heard the hellcat lifestyle described
I spit out my coffee for the first time in my life after hearing that. That red interior is the icing on the cake. The writing on this episode was spot on.
That and doing burnouts in suburban neighborhoods at 3am
Sounds like some of you live in the hood! Up in my rural area they are almost nonexistent!
While wearing a wife-beater shirt?
@@fredwilliams7893 you don’t have to live in the hood to see people acting like morons. And I imagine there aren’t many hellcat Durango’s in the hood either.
More like the vineyard vine polo wearing man with pastel colors, expensive watch, and loafers with no socks.
“A BMW X7 with a GED”. I spit out my coffee with that one
But it's faster than an x7
I trust AI Mark and its opinions wholeheartedly.
For 110% unironically trustworthy vehicle purchase recommendations this is hands-down the best channel on this forsaken platform that, in my opinion, doesn't even deserve it.
some of the worst uncanny valley i have ever seen... i wanted to just light it on fire.
Honestly, I love this channel, but the AI Mark bit is played out. I do hope they move on from it sooner rather than later. Otherwise, excellent content as always.
@@jeffreid5998 "but the AI Mark bit is played out"
ikr? Ditch AI Mark and bring back the AI gorilla
I love how you guys are in your art house era right now
Gross. I’m still trying to find Mark’s Only Fans account.
@@DS-nw4eqAsk your mom, she is subscribed.
Can't wait for the Film Noir version of Kia Soul.
Mark really has a poetic way of reviewing that no one else has. The way his body doesnt move is a little creepy, but im here for it.
Pretty sure that bit was AI. Both times.
you are explaining a joke to someone that is being sarcastic and already got the joke@@acalthu
Blacking out the speedometer during the launches was a good plan, well played.
No face, no case 😂
And the tachometer. Since if you know the gearing, you can figure out how fast it's truly going 🏎 💨 💨
spreadometer? is that something that measures strippers?
Common, they didnt go any faster than 55MPH, and I dont either
I always look for this and there's times when they don't :D
The SUV that makes car thieves and insurance agents giddy...
Don’t forget mechanics. Money makers.
Atlanta…
Well well well
Really?
And the oil companies!
Wow, this is the nirvana state of Mark on the passenger seat. So Zen, much supercharged.
That reaction from Mark when the price was mentioned is priceless!
I do not respect me
Thank you, Meatsack AI Mark, for your contributions on this topic.
Am I the only one that feels that four corner double wishbone suspension is oddly exotic for this big thing?
No, you're not.
Yeah my eyes 👀 had to do a double take on that under the hood scene. And considering the platform is ancient.
It's double wishbone in the front, not the rear, however. It ain't no Miata. 😅
I WISH for it on my next car.
The suspension under this really is copy-paste from a 166 Mercedes ML/GLE.
I like how Mark speaks with the Zen calm of someone who knows how he’s about to die, and has accepted it.
AI Mark is nightmare fuel and i like it.
I don't 😂
“Mark, now that you’ve stepped out of AI mode, what do you think of this car?”
“How much is this thing?… I don’t respect you”
Dead 😂
The best part is your neighbors can come over and test drive these with ease, even if you’re not there!
This was both hilarious and hurt me at the same time. 😂 😂 😂 ☠️
Dodge should sell a “Atlanta edition” or “Oakland edition” like all the Texas edition pickups sold in texas

Simulated AI comment! Yes!
13mpg used to be really optomistic for any SUV. I remember riding around in my friends dads Expedition and hearing it gets 6mpg.
He had a lead foot then because my v10 excursion would get 8-9 average lol
My 57 Buick Roadmaster got 6-10 mpg. It was a monstrously inefficient beast. I’m shocked anything built in modern times could be such a pig.
It hauls ass though, I guess theres a price to pay 😂
@@phrodendekia So did the Buick. I accidentally smoked the tires by pushing the accelerator more than half way. It startled me, and my neighbor laughed his ass off. It was an honest 300 horse engine, and geared to accelerate. banker’s hotrod.
I know right? My old GX470 got 12 and it sure as hell didn't have a 3.2 sec 0-60 time.
Neighbor has one. Those kids know they are the most badass kids at school drop off
They are the coolest kids in the grocery store parking lot for sure
The carjack closing… a+
You guys are magicians in relaying virtually all that needs to be said about the vehicle and brand in under 9min. I know you've already had your video(s) on this one, but all the points Jack raised make so much sense.
These days, there's going to have to be something the manufacturer brings to the table when everything is the same bland egg-shaped EV SUV.
You will buy your egg-shared SUV and you will like it.
@@MasterMalrubius I ain't sharing my SUV with an egg! :D
@@MasterMalrubius This message is WEF approved
I guess that's one thing. Once it becomes nothing but EV's they will have to try something different. Ball massager perhaps?
These guys are magicians in relaying virtually.
It's hilarious... whenever I see a Durango on the road, a portion of the rear tail light bar is burnt out lol.
I love the new AI inspired Mark 😂
I'm not usually one to comment before watching...but I'm glad you guys were able to get another one of these for review.
That's crazy how the speedometer goes away when you launch it!
Lol
Mark is so funny😂 he puts a smile on my face after a hard day at work. Love him ❤
This is one of the few channels that I'll watch the whole video from begging to end because it's so entertaining. Keep up the good work.
I had a black with red interior and I once had to turn into a parking lot at 70 mph to avoid a huge accident with some cars I pumped the breaks turned in the direction I was sliding and it effortlessly drifted into the parking lot tires screeching and stopped safely like it’s was a normal turn . This vehicle is always going to hold a special place in my heart for that .
what road has a 70mph limit and store parking lots 🤔
@@calebj2886 no one said he was driving the legal speed. 😜
The way Mark sits during the drive in this video is EXACTLY how I sit, facial expression and everything, in someone's cool car as they're driving me around. It's me vibing to having truly made it.
"Made it" as in, I get the privilege to enjoy an automobile with a good buddy, and I feel safe with them.
What an amazing 90 minutes that was. Great effort, beautifully detailed video and tons of info. You guys rock. Minutes flew by. Thank you all for putting it together.
Really liked the final thoughts being outside. Something about the lighting that kept my attention. Great video guys!
I love the cynical nature between you two! You two are synergistic!
One of the best MUSCLE final reviews hands down!!!! Very entertaining, great job with stopping, reviewing and smashing the gas pedal.... Loved it💪🏿
Savage Geese. Unmatched, undeafeated. Simply the best. YEAHHH!
Probably your best video yet! You completely capture exactly why someone would buy this in a humorous way without any explanation.
The ai segments and Jacks npc idling while Mark gives praise about the world’s highest rated award; JD power. Was amazing
This is your best video ever... The launching while talking... blacking out the speedometer... the seemingly robotic stat lines LMAO
This was hilarious.. in the greatest way possible. Greatest description of Dodge owners ever.
This car is ridiculous but the noise on throttle in the interior is absolutely sublime. It sounds better than a mustang.
It's funny how much faster the digital speedometer moves than the analogue. I will miss the Charger, Challenger, 300, and Durango when they're gone. The Camaro too. A good review from Savage Geese, as the V8 sadly heads toward extinction.
You'll own nothing and be happy
Durango will be here for at least 2025--at least in police versions. The 3.0TT will replace the 5.7.
@@scf685 That makes sense, though the Durango needs an update.
Damn the environmentalists
Anything with a Hellcat engine speaks to me on a primal level. 😈
Amazing review as always, gentlemen. It is truly a special SUV that is one to remember for sure. I couldn't agree more on the comments about Dodge as a brand moving forward. I remember roughly a year ago they were displaying their new EV muscle car, and I heard the fake noise pumped through speakers and just thought it was the most corny thing I've ever seen done to a vehicle since the MTV "Pimp My Ride" days. I'm not sure Dodge will survive as a brand with their already negative public perception. They are replacing what made their cars special with gimmicks, and I don't see it working long term.
Oh yeah they’re dead company now. It’s only a matter of time.
What’s a special piece of 🗑️ 😂
Stelantis is sacrificing dodge to the EV dystopian future they want for us.
5:17 super agreable head nods is HILARIOUS
Can I just say, you two are great together! You're rapport is great to watch.
Such a great video. You guys are beyond awesome!
Best video yet. I was cracking up at that brake stand.
A dodge? Itll probably hand deliver you to the next life
One hell of a family vehicle 😈
At least you can be fast at escaping your responsibilities.
With the added bonus of the kids being able to watch how Mom or Dad engage with the Police again on the side of the road.
Or meet all your friends and relatives... at the funeral of a 16 year old son... who took dad's viper...and launched it across three lanes of highway traffic... as he acclerated while getting up to speed on the on ramp... and sent the vehicle airborne.... (Bridgeport Road onto Hwy 85 N)
Muscle cars... the cars that don't require any brains... just testosterone... to get you free flowers....
How mark talks without moving his chin is phenomenal!
This review made my Monday. 😂Two thumbs up.
You guys keep getting funnier 😂 I don't know how you come up with all that stuff
Monday mornings with a Savage Geese video is a great way to start the week.
We owned a 2017, and 2019 druango RT. We loved them both. I still think they are the best most "muscular" looking 3 row SUV out there. We loved everything about it. The trans was super quick and it shifted exactly how i wanted it to. It would down shift and engine brake like a boss when towing down hill. It was athletic to drive, it was basic, simple, comfortable yet had apple carplay and a big screen and actual buttons. SO many good things about it. I'd get 500 miles out of a tank with highway driving no problem. LOVED those things.
Any reliability issues?
ok then what 3 row SUV you think looks muscular?
@@little123456788 Never one. Never skipped a beat.
Why’d you get rid of them?
@@Mdgld Our family outgrew them!

Great video....ill miss the Hellcat reviews. They always bring a smile to my face!
You two.....are hilarious. I got a jay and silent bob vibe on this one. Good review as always
Great video… still loving my 2020 Charger Hellcat WB. The sound will never get old and the car characteristics just make it so enjoyable.
Debating between maybe picking up a Hellcat WB or a Camaro ZL1.
@@moneyblade5
ZL1-1LE if you foresee the possibility, that you may at some point want to turn at speed.
@@andrewlangley9507 Hellcat WB Chargers corner surprisingly well. We all know the car is heavy on stereotype for, among other things, being one dimensional, i.e. an unsophisticated straight-line burnout machine. Not so. Drove a WB Charger HC for a week including on empty canyon roads. It’s no Lotus, Porsche or even, yes, a ZL1 1LE but it can turn surprisingly well. The WB treatment with its suspension revisions and square tire setup makes a big difference.
What is crazy to me is if you drive the Acura MDX Type S hard,, it gets similar MPG to this Hellcat....
Well I think you are misunderstanding. If you drive this like an ahole, you will get 5-7mpg.
@@MrDehBoss Sounds like a good trade-off
I don't know about that. I have the tlx type s. I average 24mpg. I mix it up. The mdx has got to be within 2mpg..
@MrDehBoss The thing is, I do drive like a asshole. Not trying to get you going, but that's the truth, lol. I currently have a 2018 MDX Hybrid and plan to upgrade to a MDX Type-S in a years time, but the mpg review from youtube journalists are in the 15-19 mpg range.
On the forums, some owners average 19-24 mpg depending on driving style.
@Mike-lt6sj I have a family of 3 and soon to be 4, so I'd like to be in the 24 mpg range. The 21's on the Type-S is killer big
Loved this vid, thanks guys.
Great touch of realism at the end of the video!
Absolutely love my 21 Durango Hellcat.
I'm waiting for the Pacifica Hellcat.
The 4 cars Chrysler-Dodge are left making are pretty neat in their segments (the Charger 300, Challenger, Durango, and Pacifica.
The issue is that all of their budget after Hemi development (which is undoubtedly awesome) goes into special edition paint/vinyl marketing and carbon credits. The Pacifica shouldn't be the most original chassis in their lineup, and yet here we are.
Even a few bucks into changing the Chrysler 300's interior to be the "premium" brand they're hoping people think they are instead of a carbon copy of the Charger but with a clock stamped in he dash would have cut down on the jokes. Chrysler - Dodge is just a marketing company.
Just a great hilarious thought-provoking reviews
That ending 😂
Absolutely the best episode yet😂
Durango Hellcat: For the man who leads state police on a cross county chase for expired tags, but winds up having 25lbs of fentanyl in the trunk.
Why doesn't this channel have 1M subscribers yet? C'mon, folks. Let's kick those numbers up!
Never really thought nuch of Dodge as a brand.... rented and R/T Durango and i was like ok i get the appeal. The V8 and exhausts made smile. I definitely now appreciate them. Own them no but whenever I see I know the person who gets a V8 Dodge appreciates something special
How did I live before finding this guy(these guys) back in 2016 researching ridgelines and finding Mark tossing hot dogs in its trunk
This, more than any other American, is the one I truly wish came to my country (South Africa). I am a SUCKET for massive SUVs, and before, the Ford Excursion was the one. Once this thing was released, I fell in love.
The death of massively impractical, massively worrisome, yet massively enjoyable engines is truly heart breaking. V8's and V12's are being relegated to annals of history, but some of us will never let them fade away from memory.
Fucking loved this.
Have you seen the Cadillac Escalade V? Thing is also incredibly fast but even a bit bigger than the Durango.
Well said great video I definitely agree about the quality in the long-term of any Dodge or Chrysler product for sure
Mark seemed so disinterest. Lol. Best brief review ever! 😂
I just can't describe the awesomeness of what I just watched on this one.....
Just bought one a few days ago I was considering the Rivian or the new Toyota sequoia but decided on the hellcat Durango it’s a beast!

Loved Mark's enthusiasm in this one
For years, Mark has complained about the auto industry producing soulless products. And I'm with him. Yet ironically, i find Ex Machina Mark to be a very entertaining product.

a car review video having me in tears... kudos
This video makes me so sad. We are leaving the greatest generation in automotive history in the past very soon. All of my generation from late 90s to now will look back on this forever just like the older generations look back on the 60s… Big sad
It really pisses me off as a younger person that my mid life crisis won’t be fulfilled with a loud V8, lord knows how much one of these will cost in 30 years let alone cost to operate, if that’s even allowed.
God the videos just keep getting better and better, I can't wait to hear more AI Mark and the more "YEAAAHH"
Regarding the fuel "economy" with this one -- I own a'15 4Runner that I'm very happy with, but I'm lucky if I get 17 mpg. I don't have nearly the power and potential for fun this one has,...it's ridiculously badass, but, that price tag. Lol....
I'm keeping mine forever. Get one while you can!
