My first non primarch video, with one of my favourite characters, Argel Tal. Mandatory F Erebus. I hope you all had a great Christmas and have a fantastic new year. Thanks for tuning in to the channel. Please give the video a like to help the algorithm!
I would sacrifice a thousand Sanguiniuses and a million Emperors just to let Argel Tal live through the heresy. The only redeeming quality about Word Bearers and a true hero.
Heresy… and true to a tee. I feel it made sense he died in this way. It reminds me of when Erebus steals the Anathame from Interex and Horus sees the unfolding carnage, and says something like “it wasn’t meant to be like this”. A moment where you realise Erebus has no limits and any betrayal is perfectly feasible.
Cheers! I was very happy with how it turned out. I wanted to have something to help differentiate their internal dialogue and his spoken voice. Happy new year to you too! 🖤
@@TalesOfTerraVA If they have any sense they will assuming you take the initiative to put yourself out there too them. I like many of the audiobook readers, but they are often far too emphasised and pronounced on specific words and letters. I find your reading to be much more pleasing here. Its much more grounded and stable, you're able to shift your tone without it changing the entire way you read the sample. Most audio book readers ive listened too (I just got done with dark imperium again) tend to hold the same tone so often that sometimes it can be difficult to remember where you are in the story. I think if you read the whole thing instead, it would be much more enjoyable. I also like the effects you've added to your reading, the daemonic voices, the storm sounds and so forth. I do wish audiobooks would make the greater leap to do such things, especially with 40k seeing as soo much of it is atmospheric.
I had the exact same issue with some of the Black Library audiobook VA's. Jonathan Keeble and Toby Longworth are my favourites, but there's one particular VA who holds the same tone for almost everything, with the characters also being barely distinguishable. So I'm glad to hear that you think my readings carry well!
4:49-5:53, Erebus really let him have it and yu kno what, we always have a few of those characters around d us-the nonthinkers who have to be watched constantly n the thing is: they mean well, really...
If you ever do parodies, please do a Tom and Jerry skit but as an Ork and a Skaven. 40K Ork: i swear boss there is tbis rat and he keeps setting up traps, and eating the food i’m not to blame!
After Argel Tal’s character development over a number of books, he grew to be one of my favourites by far. There was no way I was going to be happy to see him killed especially by Erebus’ hand!

@@atomicspacebomb7829 Thank you. I wonder if the demon wanted to get rid of Erebus because it knew what was coming, or if it just hated him, like everyone else.
@@chainsawsubtlety9828 I'm not sure. The demon seemed genuinely surprised by Erebus' attack but Argel and the demon both knew Erebus was up to something
He has amazing character development. I would highly recommend reading all the Word Bearer’s books. Despite all of his actions (which are mostly bad), and that he is clearly on the side of the bad guys, he never comes across as evil or comically villainous. He has a moral compass and he has genuine bonds with other Astartes.

Warhammer 40k where the Villains never die, heroes perish having accomplished little to nothing... Argal was one of 30k's best characters.
Agreed, one of my favourites too!
Argel Tal may have died from Erebus.
Kharn made sure that the word bearer had made a huge mistake.
It's a messed up situation when the chaos daemon is the one being rational.
Poor Raum. Snuffed out like a candle.
I'm just gonna say it ... *clears Throat* F**K EREBUS!
Louder for those at the back!

Bravo! I love how you separate and combine the two voices of Argel Tal and his possessing demon! 🤩
Also, Happy New Year! ❤️

Happy new year! Really looking forward to this one as it's an excerpt from my all time favorite Warhammer book. wonderful work as usual!
Happy new year to you too! Thankyou brother! I think it’s one of the best ones too. So many good parts.
Awesome vid, I think this might be one of your best yet. I am enjoying your chaos videos.
Thankyou brother! I will definitely delve more into some traitor characters when I start putting out new videos again.
YESSSS we need more!
Then more you shall have!
all my homies hate erebus
Games Workshop needs to hire you.
You’re too kind my friend! Very nice of you to say so. Perhaps one day…

Not something I’ve ever considered but who knows, if one of the meme channels wanted me to voice stuff I’d be game!
Awesome, end it. With the pit fight
Thankyou! I would be rude not to I think. I’ll put that on the list.
I am the only one who enjoyed Erebus killing Argel Tal lol, a fitting death for a traitor, which ultimately is what Argel Tal was.

Sorry, but I can't understand what AT or the daemon are saying.
Also... FUCK EREBUS!
Oh really? What device are you listening on? There’s some pitch shift and reverb used, but I’ve listened across 3 devices and it sounds clear to me.
