- Good afternoon DRUM NERDS hopefully you're well. Please enjoy today's instalment of BAND MAID - ALONE - DRUMMER REACTS.
It's nothing new that on this channel we all enjoy a good dose of BAND MAID but when hearing this song, the drum fills of including Bonham triplets and also a few cheeky 16th note triplets while rolling down the toms, it's no wonder this song needed to be featured!
My big take away from the song though has to be the opening verse groove with the many snare hits both on the up and down beats - it's a gorgeous staple groove.

"Alone" was the first song that was totally written & composed by the Maids. It's as important in BAND-MAID's past history as "Thrill" was in ensuring they had a future :)

More precisely, it's not the first song they wrote, but the first they wrote that the company agreed to record 😉
@@realdocloco Thx Doc that's what i meant. I don't know why i missed out a whole middle section.🤷♂️ I've always wondered that when the record execs sat down & listened to "Alone" whether someone said "Who's the idiot who hasn't let B-M play their own songs"?
It seems logical that they offered several songs, and Alone was chosen. I wonder what else they offered. Likely what was on the next record but would be interesting to know for sure.

Akane is the best rock drummer imho. Yes she is even better than Neal Peart and the triplets abuser Bonzo. She has invented a new style into the rock scene.

It's silly to talk about best. Akane is really really good. Is it just me or does she do her fills a lot faster than everyone else?
This may be a strong exaggeration, but it is completely acceptable. :)
Once they were left "Alone" by their record / management companies to create what they wanted, well... look what they did. Alone! BAND-MAID is an important influence and contributor to the music industry with a continuous, growing worldwide fanbase. But to me, they are just the best sounding, best writers of hard rock music, and the most fun, joyous group of musicians to come along since the Beatles. Thx, D-Nerd!
While many consider Stephen Morris of New Order the human drum machine, Akane Hirose-san is like the human metronome. She's never off-time.

Jimmy Page had his picture taken with Akane after a Maid concert in Tokyo saying she reminded him of Bonham.
You should take a look at their newer stuffs, especially songs in the Unseen world album.
He has done "Manners/Black Hole", but yes, more please!
Prefer mostly the melodic ( older stuff ) over what I consider in some cases, the chaotic. Seems the overwhelming majority of the reactors. Do do the newer stuff. How many reactions to the last song that was released by them. Have you seen in the last 3 weeks ? Maybe we could let one or two reactors cover some of the older material. That many of us grew to love first. I don't know just a suggestion I guess ! Get away a little bit from the group think !

Thank you for your in-depth analysis. I'm not a drummer, but watching and listening to you helps me have a greater understanding of what I'm hearing. I love Band Maid and I encourage you to keep analyzing more of their work! If you are debating which song to pick, I would suggest Warning. It has some amazing drumming.
Another very important milestone in the history of this band. I still love this song from the first to the last second. 🔥🤘🏻 And once again some nice details in the MV. In the first frames Saiki pushes her microphone stand away with full force and has never used one since, an empty studio which fits that it is their first own song to see the light of day, and the whole thing under a title that matches everything. :)

Actually I think I hear straight 16ths (R hand, L hand, R foot, L foot) instead of triplets in Akane’s fills. Listen again and see what you think. Enjoyed your reaction! 😎

Cool reaction! Have you heard their song Warning yet! 1:54 min into the song Akane does a drum roll that is amazingly mind blowing! She is one of the best in the music scene today!

It's always a treat to listen to her play drums but also to read the comments that come afterwards from people such as yourself - I always learn so much more after uploading the video (as you and te others know so much more than me) I LOVE IT! So that's what you think of people watching your channel that make comments about how you pause and talk about every little thing , well you can stick you channel you know were , cause with out an audience you have no channel , I won`t be watching yours any more .
