Nice job pointing out the things to know. With that generation of BMW it has a lot of ups and downs which is just part of the BMW ownership experience but when they perform its rewarding.
the leather on my f85 dash buckled up.started using sun shades. Before it was totaled. Other than that the interior was in great shape. A bit of shine on driver's side. So good to avoid rubbing when getting in and out.
I have a 50i, same problems you mentioned, and no recalls from BMW. My oil consumption was insane until I used liqui moly, but im sure it's a different weight from the n63 to s63.
Watching this, I was thinking, ‘Wow, he keeps saying X5M, but they look way bigger than that-he must mean X3M.’ Then it hit me: bro must be 7 feet tall or something 😂😂😂 making the X5M look small. Definitely seems like the X3M is the way to go, I guess?
I was getting close to the end of the video and thinking he didn't say rod bearings lol. You spoke about factory recalls I'm not sure how there's not a factory recall for the rod bearings. After about 60,000 miles they're a ticking time bomb on that platform.
@@Ye_Old_Gregg😂 rod bearings has been the bane of BMW since like 2000. To claim "they've got it figured out" in the last 6 years, because let's be real, today is 01-04-2025, 2018 is still only really 6 years ago seems less likely but you never know I guess 🤷
I have the 2018 and the worst has been my battery and a brake sensor. I don’t dog my car though. There’s an open recall for the coolant pump and bmw doesn’t have the part yet. Probably going to upgrade to an x7 soon anyway. This time I’ll lease with warranty

You're right, you get what you pay for but these cars are definitely worth it. 😈

that red/black is super clean. tempted to copy that on my x3 lol
I would recommend it! But make sure you get a wrap with metallic in it🔥

X5M for the V8 and luxury/ X3M for a reliable fast ass car! There’s a reason I’ve got both Ⓜ️Ⓜ️

I agree! That would make me want to keep my f85 forever
Wow, that's a long list of issues. I've heard injectors are a problem as well. I was legit shocked to see rod bearings are STILL a problem!
I haven’t heard anything about injectors on this platform but sadly Rods yes😭
Love your videos!
This is a f85 X5M literally last made in 2018. Rod bearings aren't a common issue on M engines made in the last 7 years..

What’s happened with your brake sensor?
X5M50i
Happy new year, I have the 2018 f86 x6m, where did you get your kidney grills & side vents
Everything you should know (don’t buy one) 😂😂
Be prepared for some repairs and maintenance that’s for sure
Should have just done an NBT Evo retrofit. Much better head unit and you get factory Apple CarPlay
You should meet and do a video with Ekaterina Lisina
Already have x8
U make that x5 look small
Threw rods on my wife’s F85 full stock and under 50k miles.
Seriously? Did you end up replacing it? Selling the car? Or did you upgrade the rods? Sorry to hear about that 😢
What year was it?
Extended warranty saved me, new motor from BMW. Still have the SUV! It was a 2017.
Hope you have an amazing 2025 brother
Thank you Brandon! Same to you MAGA
Hold on.. so if we get our oil from FCP, which I have.. I get Liqui Molly, they reimburse you if you send it back????!
yes
@ wtf….
Yes! Just make sure you fill the bottle up and it’s the old oil! Thank me later
@@Seanhasjokes I’m thanking you now.. I never in my life would’ve found that out w/o watching this video. THANK YOU
Would never buy this X5M over a G05 M50/60 for the price
how tall is tall bro?
7’0 Tall
Bro isn’t this an SUV? Why do you make it look like a coupe?
That’s what happens when you’re 7’0 tall with a lowered SUV! You should see me standing next to my X3M
Remember this, BMW is an ok vehicle they're not reliable or durable
You need to look into the S58 platform 🔥
that is not an x5m comp lol
Really? I had no idea
@ why u got the badges on then 😹😹😹
If it’s not b58 don’t buy it
S58>
