For a more evenly matched race with the 35d I'm happy to put my x3 M40i stage 1 in there around 420bhp for an evenly matched x3 petrol vs diesel race, only reason i didnt get a diesel myself was purely mileage we do and soundtrack props to the x3

They appear to be on the right way. It might be the case that the left/right tires are different though and both left tires are at the front of the car instead or vice versa.

I'm all about Petroleum boosted internal combustion for the majority of motors but given the choice of either built/tuned B/S58 or built/tuned M/N57 in this particular instance - I'd be arguing with myself at the start line unable to make a choice. Had a couple of Derv beemers now [e90&e91] and theyre that good we are looking for another 1. I highly doubt we will ever see another german production derv which will smash the 25/30/35 platform. i do like a good fast diesel car must admit always been petrol but i like how diesels can decieve people with the right driver i have audi 2.5tdi but want a stage 1 on it get egr delete and dpf delete which will put my 163bh to over 200bh i know dont sound much but will make a huge difference to me my first diesel powered car
X4M Comp , best all round suv to have ever came out of any manufacturer . Given that Porsche had to drop the Cayenne Turbo GT , for almost double the money . Forever in my heart that S58 X4M Comp 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 best to have ever did it .
at the end it seems it really is up to the power to weight ratio, the gearbox and the drive (AWD or RWD). if these things are the same or very close then the results are also close, regardless of diesel or petrol fuel. petrol is just easier to produce the higher power number due to the RPMs thus more often is faster than the diesel. power and torque curves also play significant roles, but it seems when the cars are tuned correctly and have (almost) the same values for the parameters above they perform (almost) the same.
It would be cool if in these races each person went for a passenger ride in the car there racing before they race and see if they think it feels faster or slower then see the out comes after they race🤷🏼♂️
Given the power difference between the two cars, the gap difference wasn't that big. I recon that if the X3 was pushed to 500hp and 1000Nm, would have gapped the Petrol. I own both a Mazda 6 mps (Mazdaspeed 6) and a Chevy Cruze SW J308 2.0D with around 180bhp, the Cruze is no slouch though for the power he has. I can drive around 700km of Autobahn with speeds over 150kph with the Cruze, with the MPS I barely touch 500km at 110-130kph

With the stock big turbo this diesel is impossible to make over 400hp. My F31 with the same engine and bigger hybrid turbo on 2,5bar makes 430hp, dpf and egr delete, 3" downpipe and fmic.
