Alec, I've stumbled across this yet again and I'm always floored at how filmic this whole short is. Honestly if I didn't know any better I would have assumed it was put together by a team of directors, filmmakers with months of refined storyboarding. Absolutely. Top. Notch. Work.
I like to see unreal engine as a confirmation of economic laws of supply and offer; as soon as there is an explosion of incredible artistry on the web thanks to technical innovation like these, there is an overproduction of contents (in this case, of cinematic quality selfproduced shorts) and a fall in the expected rating return for the artists; I experienced myself a similar phenomenon when global illumination algorithms (among other developments) went public in the first half of the 00s and consequently a mass of archviz experts (mainly expelled from the construction crisis after the subprime burnout) flooded the high-end rendering market in italy, lowering the prices at a fraction of what I charged when I exited the business in 2006.
@@zdenekburian1366 I think what's most impressive here is not even the graphics tho, we are already kinda saturated of it already. His skills at art direction, and the camera work is separating it from other videos that just feels like a tech showcase, and that's something the engine can't do for you.
Wow, this was stunning- as a current student making cinematics in unreal to say this has inspired me and given me inspiration to work harder would be an understatement, amazing work
Hello! My group and I are currently working on a “Star Wars Revan Malachor V” fan film and while looking around I stumbled upon your epic video. I was thinking some of the stuff you did here could be applied really well to our fan film. Would you be open to talking on discord or somewhere about working in some minor or major capacity on this project?
I used Marvelous Designer for cloth sims on all of the characters, the only models made outside the engine were the crystals which were modeled in Maya and textured in Quixel Mixer. Characters were rigged and animated with Mixamo, character models are from Sketchfab. I edited and color graded in Premiere pro.
