- The compact SUV space is right now the hottest segments in the India market. There are a host of different options to choose from, and all of them come with their own unique capabilities. So, we picked three diverse SUVs that represent three different ideas as to what a compact SUV should offer. The Honda Elevate, the newest of the lot, stands for practicality, while the Kia Seltos, which was recently updated is all about premium creature comforts and tech. Up against them is our erstwhile Car of the Year, the Volkswagen Taigun, a pure driver-oriented car that stands for performance. So which one took the crown? Watch to find out!

Comparing 24+ Lakh 1.5 TC cars with 19+ Lakh NA engine car.
How can you make a mistake in comparing something as simple as boot space?
Elevate has a 17-inch wheel option, too.
So, out of three, we choose the least safe and most expensive car. Ok.
Even after doing a comparison video so late, this is what we have. 😑
In my openion Elevate is the winner VFM and all rounder with safety, best ground clearance, great boot space, handling, Reliable Engine and CVT Gearbox etc ...
Dull external design. Poor ARAI. Dated interior design. Sorry, not elevate
Come on guys, what are you even comparing by putting a car with a NA engine against one with a TC engine (that also costs nearly 5 lakhs more!!!). Your basic facts aren't correct either. Looks like a sponsored trade which is definitely biased against the more VFM and reliable car. Very disappointed with this comparo.

My thoughts too but even apart from that, how does one ignore the bodily safety of the cars in a comparison? The Seltos is a non starter there. The Taigun is the safest and quite likely the Honda will do well once it is tested. This fact alone should not make the Seltos a winner. My opinion is that the El3vate is the one that has good seats, good space, good boot, comparatively frugal engine, relatively leas expensive too and hence should be the winner .....as long as it gets atleast a 4 safety rating (the City is a 5 start so assuming Elevate will get there). An objective assessment should have the Elevate as the winner. Ofcourse if enthusiastic driving is considered than Elevate is out and between the Seltos and the Taigun from a drivers perspective it is a no Brainerd.
@@fundamentals Agreed, put squarely. I got my Elevate ZX CVT 5 days ago, drove nearly 300 kms so far in the Himalayas.
Really a great machine, very reliable stuff and truly a no-nonsense car that I for sure will be keeping for the next 15 years!

In like for like price point, Elevate offers more equipment than others. To get those coveted features of Seltos you have to shell out quite a bit more,; and that won't change the fact that its a 3 star rated vehicle on safety front. Mid variants of Seltos offer mediocre features at best. Elevate does offer 17 inch wheels, which has been misquoted in the review.
Not even 3 star dude ...it's only 2 star but just becoz of .03 it crossed 2 nd got 3 star rating

@anshumandabriwala1667 I request u to just test drive that car ...it feels so unstable nd underpowered ...I bought taigun 2 years ago while rejecting creta nd old seltos ...nd bought elevate now rejecting new seltos nd grand vitara ...nd yah ...a happy owner of both the cars

How seltos is all rounder when it is not safe?
Don't understand why a turbo charged engine is compared to NA, there is no logic in comparing. One is looking to buy will not get a clearer idea.
Watch out for Facelifted CREATA Chances are Hyundai will offer their best Built Quality & load it to perfection with Indian liked features to stay on top in the 4.3 Mts midsize SUV Segment.
Waiting for Blackbird or Curvv from Tata Motors Co with all new 1.5TC Petrol engine offerings.
Unless VW-Skoda does not reduce their Pricing, Improve their Interior Quality offerings & Service Stns Network. Their Car Sales nos. would take a beating.
Elevate is doing fairly well & would dent Kushaq-Tiagun Sales nos. for sure.
May not affect much of Creata-Seltos Sales nos. as they are offering Big Options of Engine & Gearboxes to buyers.
If we compare Elevate with Taigun 1L, Elevate is best because of 4 cylinder 1.5 L engine . Where Taigun 1L is 3 cylinder turbo engine.
If we compare Taigun 1.5 GT 4 cylinder turbo engine and elevate then Taigun GT is best. Driving experience is wonderful and stability is very good even at higher speed we dont feel inside the car. I own Taigun 1.5 GT.
How about safety?
Because of your over excitement and happiness for low prices mid size Suv's we are not getting a competitive full size suv competitor to fortuner
Elevate is just 5mm taller than seltos but wait its ground clearance is also 30mm more than seltos! May be that's why it feels denser n more SUVish probably.
Compact SUV are probably the most affordable strong cars. Just brilliant

Why would you use a 1-litre tsi Taigun & not the 1.5 tsi dsg Taigun when you make these comparisons.

The comparison is unfair as 20L Honda Elevate is compared with 25L Kia Seltos. The Seltos may come with loads of features, however, interior design and color theme is so poor, the cabin feels claustrophobic.

Yes Seltos will be the 1st Choice with 1.5 TC with loaded feature list against Big hatch Taigun 1.0 TSI at nearly the same pricing.
Most affordable & Practical for City or everyday usage VFM would be definately Honda ELEVATE.
Taigun-Kushaq 1.5 TSI Engine is the only worth investing because of 4 Cylinder & Cylinder Deactivation Technology.
Localised 1.0 TSI is an eyewash to fool buyers. Under 1700 rpm does not deliver Power on Big hatch. They offered the same on Polo their discontinued Compact Hatch. मेरे हिसाब से VW-Skoda as a Co. सभी Bharatiye को बेवकूफ़ समज रहे हैं.
Sub 4 Mts C-SUV are offered with 1.2 TC Petrol & 1.5 TC Diesal engines.
If you bring in the Satefy aspect then the Seltos is a non starter actually

I agree Safety has to be the top priority. But at same time more than 95% of cars are driven in Chaotic City traffic conditions. That's the reason why people care little about Safety & buy the most seen Cars on the Road.
And at the same time Safe Car should not be so expensive that people are forced to compromise.
Elevate is the best
U forgot one important feature- cooled glovebox which is offered only by taigun… I dont know why people think its not a feature worth mentioning..thats such an important feature to have for regular use
