I had the exact same problem with the RC2 not showing me the latest update and did exactly what you did (before you posted this video) and it then found the update and downloaded it. Thanks for sharing though!
Exactly! After I left this fix on your site 4 days ago,I contacted DJI Canada with the fix and they weren't aware that the app doesn't show that there is an update available FOR the app. Can't fix something unless we know it's broken...so know I will check the ABOUT before checking for updates.
Definitely egg on DJI's face lately with software bugs (N vs. P mode, slow bootup time, and difficulty updating the Fly App). Good thing DJI has good public beta testers like yourself.
I was one of the guys who commented on your last video about the update not working.....I followed your suggestions in this video and now it is all up to date. THANKS!!!
Darren, this is direct from Dji forum. " Hi guys, we are sorry for any inconvenience. We have discovered some issues during the release phase. To avoid affecting your usage, we have currently suspended the upgrade push. Our engineers are urgently repairing the issue. Hope you can wait for the update patiently." So upgrade at your own risk. Dji would not pull the upgrade if it was not a serious issue.
Thanks for this Darren, Just done my update for the Air 3 however mine reads 1:13.5 so there must have been a further update in the last 5 days? Aircraft version still the same as yours though. I notice you dont seem to be flying much these days? You are always the first to post fly app updates so always tune in for those many thanks, Jon in Newcastle.
Bloody hell Darren. Your a genius. I had the same problem saying it's already updated but tried what you said in this video and now back to normal. There is never a difficult investigation for you lol. I'm assuming the Vegas videos are up soon.
Dear Darren, thank you very much for tackling this issue again and presenting us with the solution. Absolutely marvellous. I was about to leave a subscription until I realised that I had already subscribed to you. I know why. Thank you!
Thanks for this from Australia. I had the problem but did not realise it. I followed your advice so all good now. Boots in about 20 seconds and shows ‘N’
Due to all the issues that the firmware updates have caused issues with the DJI RC 2, I haven't updated either the controller or the Air 3 since this started after the release of the Avata 2. And DJI trying to make the Goggles 3 compatible with the Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro. Thanks showing us how to force this update, but I'm still going to wait a while longer. Great video, and thanks for sharing Darren.
Update worked this morning after going to the "Profile" page and hitting the "About" menu where you have now a red dot telling you that a new version is available. This seems to be a minor update because the update goes fast after you agree to restart the RC2. Everything works fine.
@DMProductions Following your videos, I can never go wrong!! I'm glad you're out here sharing information to help everyone. Great job, Darren!! Thanks a bunch for this information
Thanks for that. It's exactly what happened after I 'updated' the firmware. No N Mode, still P. And RC2 took almost 50secs to boot up. Now, N Mode appears and RC2 took 22secs. Thanks again.
Cheers Darren, I’ve only had my M4P a month so it was showing update available, clicked but didn’t update, followed you guide and all fine now. I had a waypoint flyaway (750m distance open area), M4P went off-piste, luckily I pressed pause then RTH and it came back, I’m wondering if previous failed update several days ago had anything to do with it 🤔
Hi. The confusion is partly caused by having several components more or less named the same, but being something else. You have the firmware for the drone, this is the software that is on board of the UAV. For the M4P that currently is 01.05.0000 - and it has nothing to do with the controller. Originally the controller had a firmware incorporating DJI Fly, but for the RC2 this is no longer the case. The firmware for the RC2 comprises of the operating system (ie. Android) and settings and is currently 02.02.0000. I'd normally expect the slow boot time to be down to the firmware, but as it turned out, it wasn't. The third component is the DJI Fly app that is currently at 1.13.4. It can (now) be updated on its own, without touching the firmware. If you see a reference to 'firmware' and check for updates, only the firmware of the UAV and RC are checked. There was no update released recently, so the message is correct. The DJI Fly app should check itself for updates and show a panel, but that sometimes fails - but if you go (as shown) to 'About' and check for updates, you explicitly check for updates for the app (but not for updates of any firmware).
You don't need to connect your drone to update the controller. I bought the mini 4 pro abc the rc-2 controller separately so I have the standard controller as well. I updated my drone independently and set that up way before even doing anything with the rc-2 and simply updated that on its own with no issues.
Be aware, after doing this and going for a flight, I experienced two things: a need to redo calibration and a glitch during the flight. The glitch was scary; during flight, the screen reverted back to show the pre-flight screen (the one that comes up before you have powered up the drone). Luckily, it only took pressing the blue Go Fly button to get back into the flight screen. As noted in another person's comment, DJI put a note on the DJI forum to say DJI is aware of issues with this release and has stopped the automatic rollout of it.
Hi! Update follows update :) He has a mini 4pro C1+ RC N2. Since April, after updating the drone and DJI Fly, I cannot perform Hyperlase. Does your drone support hyperlapse?
Seems on DJi forum that latest version have some problems they that need to resolve. They are working on new firmware since some devices does not support downgrade. Some users reports that new version is out : v1.13.5
I’m beginning to suspect DJI is taking a page from Apples playbook, in that with the last few firmware/software updates I’m getting less and less range before signal drops off completely. All in an effort to coax me into upgrading. I have the Mini 3.
Hi Darren, I got the update prompt and updated to 1.13.4 but haven't had a firmware update for the drone which I thought would also happen? What is the latest firmware version for the m4p? If mine is incorrect, can this also be forced?
Hi Darren & your community, I strongly recommend NOT to install this FlyApp update for the RC2. It contains several new bugs which are quite substantial! I received the update to 1.13.4 during my vacation in Sicily. After updating I experienced severe problems @quickshots/pano sphere. My Air 3 couldn't finish to capture the total number of 32 pitures needed. It stopped at 29 or 30 shots and the 360° spherical panorama was not calculated. I'm very upset as I tried to use this nice Quickshot while flying into the crater of the vulcano on the little island with the same name "Vulcano" there in the south of Italy. That was very frustrating! I missed a big chance of capturing some breathtaking views at that markable location where I'll not return to soon! Another bug I encountered there was the "recovery time" after using the bracketing function taking about 30-50 sec. So, be careful and better wait for the next version number. Cheers from Germany, Bernd ✌️😊
Darren, I bought my Mini pro 4 in US, I set it up there with no problems. So many issues with firmware updates on the Mini 4 Pro that I read on the DJI forums. People buying new Mini 4 Pros and updating the firmware out of the box only to get errors. Then DJI says they need to send it in for service. What is going on?
My mini 3 have some problems. 1,5 years and never any problem but yesterday the fly app said it had some bugs and the camera went black, i can steer the gimbal but there are no video/picture on the phone. Hey there, hope you're all good... I also updated my RC-2 and Air 3 to the latest versions the day before yesterday... and all of a sudden I got messages from UA-cam that there were new videos. So I watched them and most of the, at least German, UA-camrs mentioned NOT TO UPDATE to these new versions! Reason for that: DJI already revoked these new versions and that led them to the conclusion, that "something serious" must be wrong with that, i.e., it might not be safe to fly your drones with the new versions installed... Revoking these versions by DJI might also be the reason for some users not getting that prompt on their main screen after booting up... what do you think? I performed some flights directly after my updates and did NOT recognise any issues! Did somebody of you folks? The full version of the two videos I captured after the update, the short version is just a cropped and shortened version...: Full version ua-cam.com/video/zuLwL82dkns/v-deo.htmlsi=xbkc5A2wjUy-0D5u Short version ua-cam.com/video/iH2mw8_lWM0/v-deo.htmlsi=LRT2VasHEEshlGhe Any information about recognition of whatsoever issues with the new versions are highly appreciated. I can update no problem. Well, actually I'm TOO able to update, which is the problem. Every few days I get a notification saying new firmware on my Air 3. It's not just a UI bug. I can manually check for updates, and it appears there as well. I run the update, and it does the whole downlpad/install process, and restarts the drone. It shows the latest version, and then in a day or so, when I connect to internet, I'll get another update notification. I'll run install, and restart, and it still shows the same version, and then in a few days, I get the notification again. Starting about 2 weeks ago, I've downloaded and installed like 4 firmware updates. The RC updated just fine. It's just the Air 3 that keeps giving me new firmware notifications, and I can literally do the full install process every time. I've just started ignoring the new update notification.
I am having red dot at firmware update of V 1.13.4 but after new small window of “ New Version Available it does not update. Plz assist how to fix. Thanks

Hello Darren, Thanks for this and all your great video's. They really are very helpfull. I also want to thank you for the awesome Luts you make👍👏 I recently bought the Mini 4 Pro Luts. I edited the D-log M on my latest drone video about Kefalonia Greece with it. I really liked the result. I posted this video a few days ago on my channel. Hope you will watch it and give your opinion. I used the Universal Lut. Keep making your video's about DJI drones! Greetings from 🇳🇱
I updated and now my drone is not acting right. P mode is still on screen. The distance indicator says it's getting further away and I'm not even flying
I own a DJI mavic mini 4 pro , i tried the same steps still not working using my DJI RC2 controller. 1). Check for updates in the in the aircraft settings is showing up to date. 2). Again going to the profile also same issues , still showing up to date. App version is 1.13.0 on RC2 Controller Aircraft firmware is 01.00.0500 RC firmware 02.02.0000 Tried updating the DJI app by going to profile and about , but still the app version is 1.13.0 , shows update prompt and when clicked on install , the pop up disappears and the app is still in 1.13.0 . but i can see Dji has released 1.13.19 already . Can somebody let me know if you guys are facing the same issues.
Followed your instructions and getting "Downloading installation package failed. Tap Check for Updates and try again." Everything is connected and functioning correctly, but tried several times and still getting the same message.
I finally decided to try by connecting the R2 controller to my computer via the provided USB cable and logged into my DJI account and and it downloaded and installed. Go figure? I know I was connected to wifi before, but it seem to only work when I connected the R2 controller to the computer. Not sure if logging into my DJI account made a difference or not. I didn't try before logging on.
DJI DJI DJI BUGS BUGS BUGS, in my case its worse, i do have the Air 3 along with the RC2, i cant connect my RC2 controller to wifi at all, i wont be able to see the wifi names for whatsoever, but sometimes it work and it get connected automatically after days of trying, the RC2 is very slow, most of the time it get fully dark and the screen will be blacked out and i keep turning it on and off till it get bright again and see the DJI logo, i wont be able to do screen recording only sometimes and some other time i will get error message and the recording will be failed, i cant update the RC2 thru the laptop neither, everything i mentioned DJI knows about and they been informed, all what they mentioned in the correspondences is they need me to send them the controller as if its not a BUGS issue 🤔
Hope this helps ! Get more tips with my DJI Cheat sheets and Luts here - dmprovisuals.com

Hi Darren & your community, I strongly recommend NOT to install this FlyApp update for the RC2. It contains several new bugs which are quite substantial! Tried updating the DJI app by going to profile and about , but still the app version is 1.13.0 , shows update prompt and when clicked on install , the pop up disappears and the app is still in 1.13.0 .
but i can see Dji has released 1.13.19 already .

I am having a problem with HOME POINT update, it takes forever...
Rc2 starts faster now, but when I go to profile screen gets black
I got to About, and it showed me update is available, but after pressing update nothing happens.
It will be downloading in the background , wait around 2/3 mins and it will pop up saying install now
I have updated to 1.13.5 and still my drone cant fly because of GPS 😢
