@@ScottNicholsFivecentStudios for now it's in groups but I'm definitely pushing for more AE style functionality like that cause I do like using the pickwhip when working
@@JonathanWinbush Yo Winbush! One thing I noticed is that masks don't have shadows. I tried looking for answers but haven't had luck. I just have a simple plane with a circle cut out and would like the hole to have like an inner drop shadow but the mask doesn't react to the light no matter what settings I mess with. Any thoughts?
@@JonathanWinbush Yeah materials are setup correctly but for whatever reason a mask doesn't cast a shadow. so the plane with the circle cut out in the center is as if it was a solid plane. Really hard to find any answers online.
Hey Winbush .. great work! many thanks for all your excellent contribution .. I have questions (maybe its worth a tutorial) how can I make material or graphic wich is always on top of everything ( no depth information) and how can I translate the 3d world space to 2d screen space like a callout which respects the 3d information for movement but stays always oriented to the camera and doesn't change the scale whatsoever .. oh and a last question .. is it possible to combine 3d motion graphics with 2d ? something like making everything 3d but on top a lower third graphic (2d on top) .. many thanks in advance .. keep up your great work !!! cheers from Berlin ****
UE5.4.1 The bug issue with the motion graphics function remains unresolved, the same as before; Especially when generating SVG models, the axis automatically deviates, material designers cannot save multiple effects, and custom colors for material design become invalid after switching text parameters to semi transparent
thanks for explaining this winbush! I was playing with the mask option a few weeks ago and had no idea how to use it. I opted out to using the boolean option to mask things out. that was a bit tricky to learn as well.
Yea these new systems can be a little tricky but once you get used to it I think it makes sense. The boolean method is a little taxing so this should run a lot smoother.
I just installed Unreal engine for the very first time 9n my laptop. I have a laptop GPU RTX 3050. I'm starting with a blank project and imediately says warning messages about video memory over budget etc.
more UE5.4 motion design tutorials please! loving em!
Absolutely I'm trying to give as much info as I can share in these little chunks!
@@JonathanWinbush by chance, is there anyway to pickwhip / link layers like you do in AE or is that simply done by adding the layers in a group?

Winbush you're lovely, I look at you and think.... 'hmmmmmm I'm hungry.'
Class: mask
Class: Background
I think If you using programmer way to thought, it became simple.
Gotcha ill have to keep that in mind. So programmers use a class system in terms of organization?
@@JonathanWinbush Hmmm, I learnt a little bit of C++, Class is most important concept of C++, instance of material also this concept, I guess
First floor priority..
ok I'll bite what does that mean?
