I'm really excited about this. And I appreciated your tutorial. What I'm really looking forward to seeing is more After Effects style animation tutorials. Most of the demos and tutorials I've seen, including this one, seem to concentrate on the 3D effects and effectors and stuff. But I'm most excited about is more 2 to 2.5D stuff, but in real time. I downloaded and have played around a bit, but I honestly feel like I'm just in a faster version of Cinema 4D or similar, it's amost too 3D-centric, I'm not feeling the "motion graphics"-ness of Motion Design. And I'm pretty lost overall. And do us newbies a favor, slow down for those of us that have never used Unreal, show us how the UI works, and make comparisons to AE.. For example I can't even seem to figure out how get out of Camera Control mode. I try to click on something drag it around, and the camera moves instead.
For sure. I have not yet had the time to dive down that hole. But I have seen what others are doing and it is impressive. I am sure we'll see a lot of great, useful content around these new tools.
Learned some awesome tricks, and I didn't knew the hierarchy button with material instances - gonna remember that forever, lol. Many thanks, it was super helpful!
If only this had a bit of a nicer interface and not have things hidden behind menus, it would be so much easier to get started with it. But still amazing progress. Please work on the UI design.
Lookin' great! Regarding Unreal, it's only the first Mograph version, yet: UI feels clunky, so learning curve is steep, I bet. Not so many guides out there. There will, with time. Can't shake that 'game engine look'. Wonder if Unreal could render out things that may look more like a C4D renders. There are so many new motion graphic apps- it's tough to choose where to put your time and effort into :)
It being real time and Unreal, does that mean we can easily make it interactive? I heard something about rive integration with Unreal.... if we can make it interactive and able to use on the web I feel like this is a must learn for me.
You can create cross platform stand-alone interactive experiences of any kind. But to my knowledge you aren't going to get Unreal content like this to play on the web anytime soon.
Can't wait to test this out!! I have an kind of important question when it comes to motion graphics with UE5, is there ANY way, to get another Curve Editor for Animations, I'm switching from C4D to unreal now, and im used to C4D's "f-curve" editor, but i just dont understand the unreal curve editor, it makes no sense to me, is there a way to get a "C4D Like" curve editor or do i have to deal with UE5's current editor and just work things out? (Yes, I've tried to import Animations etc from C4D, but ALL of my Animations start to bug out towards the end)
Aharon is it possible to control the clone location using a texture? For example a black and white noise pattern where the clones only appear on the white parts?
Hello ! I have a couple of issues trying this, when I create a cloner, I can't select the cloner in the motion desing outlines, same with the effector, Actually when I go to the other outliner both show there and I can select them. What can I do in order to be able to select them in the motion design outliner instead?
Yes it can be added through the camera settings (select the camera and in its properties do a search for "motion blur"), a post process, or through render settings. By default the camera is set to .5 blur, with a range of 0-1. That said, I prefer to do motion blur and color grading outside of Unreal, if I can. Like C4D, there are still better post tools available externally.
The effectors are working fine in my scene but the lighting is completely blown out and looks almost like a post process bloom is on, yet there isn't a post process in my scene. The metallic from the material makes the reflections almost glow off the metal, I don't know why it's doing this, it looks super bright and there's no contrast.
WTF, the Aharon Rabinowitz that used to make After Effects on Creative Cow? I watched those so many times, i've downloaded some and played on a fucking ipod tiny screen on my way to work.
@@AharonRabinowitz Thats not it. Aaron surrounded himself with force deflectors that limit his exposure to all the negative forces. Or he is a metahuman in the first place..
very mediocre, still recycling what was then actually great about 20 years ago in motion design. just shifting from one platform to another with minimal leaps in tech
Totally. It's very different than what 3D animators are used to. This is the first iteration. I remember when the Mograph tools came out in C4D. They were not even included with the product. You had to buy them as a plugin, and trust me the experience was not intuitive. This is the first iteration, and it is worlds ahead of where anyone else who has tried to enter this space is at. As a long time C4D user, I feel that the speed of the feedback and rendering make it worth powering through the first release experience.
@@AharonRabinowitz hmmm. Alright im gonna try to give it a shot. Imagine if this functionality was combined with Spline’s UX……that would be a dream come true
I can’t wait for the weekend so I can dig in.

YESSSSSS been waiting for this!
Dude this is amazing I’ve watched this so many times. Many workflow ideas!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 please more like this
Welp. UE5 here I come.
Every time he presses a button my mind is blown away!
Great job Aharon 🤙🏿🤙🏿
Dude, thank you!
So excited ❤
Thanks Aharon!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Motion Design is an Unreal Engine 5.4 feature you won't find it on prev. versions. This version is so huge ! Thanks for the vid.
This is a big game change!
Need more Ahron's tutes. love it

Thanks for these tips!
Glad to help.
I followed your project and wow .....its really good...really

you can still do offline renders in unreal engine
What a great starter tut
Thanks!
Amazing tutorial. Thank you!
For anyone who are missing the create defaults, just create a blank new projet. It worked for me.
Thanks for the tut! Do you know if there is a way to bake the cloner/effector animation to a format that can be imported it into another application?
great example, thx!
Thanks for the walkthrough!
Thanks for watching!
Nice explanation
This is really promising

awesome example! how would you replicate the "noise wave" in Cinema4d? I mean the big noise wave.
thanks much
Finally Goodbye C4D and apologize to my wallet

I hope redshift RT for c4d can get as good as Eeve in blender
Maxon! watchout!
Thanks a lot :)
so cool, how to apply a cloner on alpha texture

Could it be used in game?
How do you manually link an effector?
Left panel, drag the effector
Then drag your shape on right panel under the effector
The cloner has a slot where you can select your effector(s)
Is there a way to change the viewport navigation to be more similar to that of C4d?
Hopefully this puts a thumb in Maxons eye.
Can this be done on spline?
you can make a video using cloth chaos and amrvelus? pleae
Where are the assets for this work, can you tell me Please
That was great material. Can motion blur be added in UE?

So it seems the UI is bugged two then because when you said the auto keyframe is on it was off
So or its pre recorded or its a bugged UI in 5.4
Wasn`t he part of GSG ? Anyway, Excited to learn Unreal :)
Aharon was with Red Giant 😊
@@JeahnLaffitte yeah I know that. But I thought he moved over to GSG for some kind of marketing role. Maybe I dreamed about it :D

I could not find 'motion design' plugin in UE 5.3.2. Any idea why?
5.4 and above only
Is it also available in 5.3 or not?
Nope. these are are new tools in 5.4.
Did you work for creative cow years ago?
Yes indeed!
Why do I not find the plugin?????
UE 5.4
Is this working on Mac? iMac Pro 2017 here but willing to jump to Mac Studio...
The folks at Unreal tell me it is working on a mac!
On Mac for Laptop and it is working
Is UE5 still free pls
Innovation these days is too fast to keep up with. 1 day you're mastering a tool, next day, there's a better workflow.
Feel like a time traveler.
But 5.4 isnt even fully out yet.
Holy macaroni
so this is basically Cinema4D mograph in real-time ?
More like a mix of AE and C4D. I only covered one of the Motion Design tools. There are a LOT!
Anyone else having trouble with the cloner not showing clones?? Unreal 5.4 on Mac
I have had that on windows. If I make a change to the cloner, or pull the mesh out and put it back it shows up. We're still in beta territory.
I'm not about to learn ue to achieve this
Why does this look like airplane cockpit
have you ever tried ANY 3D software?
Spline takes the cake. Beautiful friendly easy to use ui and ux for 3d work. This looks like a wireframe in comparison.
Hope you reported these bugs to UE!
I know this is off-topic... but why doesn't Aaron age?!
I spent 12 years in a dark room animating and my face never saw sunlight. My skin is still as smooth as a baby's butt!

Looks absolutely dreadful honestly. Part of the deal of making creative work is the experience it provides. The ui and ux here is very ordinary
