It's an African braid. France colonized Africa & appropriated it's land, people & culture. Renamed "French braid". Anyone over 5yrs in America know those braids as CORNROWS. Cultural appreciation is alive & well. Some whites have no pride to blatantly watch & COPY Black UA-cam tutorials. They then RE-NAME & CLAIM a centuries old ethnic (functional) hairstyle. Its neo colonization. BTW a viking was an occupation not a culture.

if you have long hair as a dude no girl will regret playing with your hair just ask. lol
I hope it'll become trendy as the man bun last year, I like this haircut because it's so easy to maintain and the haircut doesn't "fall off" or just breaks apart like other hair styles do after the wax stops working on your hair after a long period of time.
The camera cuts make it impossible to follow along with what the fingers are actually doing. I'm trying to use this as a guide, but I can't because I can't actually see the individual steps in the process. The end result looks great, but I have no clue how it got there.

That's exactly why I came to this video and they give you no tips or anything on how to do it on yourself.

Practice it with your eyes closed, it makes your brain understand the process of it without looking into a mirror and controlling movement based on your sight.
Any tips on how to do this? Or other videos I tried braiding my boyfriends hair, he has the exact same haircut and it doesnt come out right :/ I really want to nail this!

No, there is only the braided hair. As you can see, the mannequin has an undercut.
So you only add hair to the side pieces? What about the middle piece?

There is very little on how the Norse styled their hair, and what few depictions we have be it brief descriptions or ship carvings, look nothing like the "Viking" hair styles we see in media. This is similar to the Viking horned helmets that never existed lol
@@bug3518 actually it was very custom for them to braod there hair. They were big on hair care and there are many dipictions and artworks from the past that have them in braids
