- We saved my favorite song from the album for last! Katie has been trying to mash "I Saw Three Ships" into a Christmas arrangement for several years and when we started working on "O Come, All Ye Faithful", we knew we had found a perfect match.
We were so excited that Silver Dollar City let us film this video on their property as Christmas is magical at the park. The park was closed when we were filming and you will enjoy the maintenance vans that accidentally drove behind us while recording haha. Never a dull moment when you are recording everything live!

Matt is so good at what he does. His guitar skills provide the backbone or framework for the whole band. It's what ties it all together, IMHO!

What an amazing bluegrass interpretation of this song!!!! Whoever wrote this version did an awesome job. You guys always hit it out of the park, but this one is very special. I love Christmas music, but this song has never been a favorite of mine. That just changed. Thank you guys for another wonderful rendition, and Merry Christmas to everyone!
I loved that upbeat bluegrass version, but still keeping the sincerity and emotion of the song. Spectacular all around! The only thing that I didn't like was that it was the last of the Christmas videos!

Last piece (or maybe not, is there still something else...?) of an extraordinary year, this 2023! An absolutely new version of an ancient Christmas hymn: Adeste Fideles. The Celtic sounds of "I Saw Three Ships", obtained with Katie's fiddle, blend perfectly with the three verses of the classic hymn to form a whole of extreme beauty. The central interlude, with Katie always in great evidence, the change of key in the third verse and the brilliant crescendo ending are truly pure magic! Ellen gives a masterful singing performance, with incredible vocal power she reaches really high notes almost effortlessly. Matt and Julianne's harmonies are excellent and, as always, Emmett's dobro and Mamma's double bass.
In short, another authentic masterpiece in every sense. As always, THANK YOU!!! ❤🙏

“O Come, All Ye Faithful” is the English version of the Christmas hymn “Adeste Fideles”, written in Latin by still unknown authors and, presumably, during the 17th century. The first to publish a printed version of the text was the English Catholic composer John Francis Wade, who included it in his 1751 collection “Cantus Diversi pro Dominicis et Festis per annum”. Some sources believe that Wade himself wrote the anthem, but this theory has never been confirmed. The version published by Wade consisted of four Latin verses, to which later, at the hands of others, another four were added, always in Latin. In 1841 the Latin text was translated into English by the English priest Frederick Oakeley, and this hymn, after some passages, definitively assumed the title “O Come, All Ye Faithful”.
Adeste Fideles is traditionally the final hymn during midnight mass in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
Many great singers have performed Adeste Fideles; among these the great Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
