I like the jawbone. It gives you more info about your sleep, and bluetooth would just run my cellphone battery down more. Personally, i think the syncing headphone jack is really cool
Jawbone will remind you to move if you've been sitting too long, will recommend what food to eat based on how well you slept and how much exercise you have done. The fitbit doesn't do that!

The Jawbone UP doesn't have the charging issues and need for replacement like the FitBit Flex does. I've gone through three Fitbit Flexes (they keep crapping out) and I'm still on my original Jawbone up. My Jawbone Up charges in 60 minutes vs 120 minutes for my Fitbit Flex. I was lucky if I got an entire day out of my Fitbit Flex before the battery died. My Jawbone Up lasts 6 days between charges.
Fitbit flex is CRAP GARBAGE! Took me 5 hours if reading posts on the internet to realize that it won't even sync with my ipad OR iPhone because it doesn't give you any instructions. Clasp fell off in my sleep two times last night. Bracelet fell off today and now it is gone. I had it for two days. You'd think a bracelet designed to track activity and exercise wouldn't fall of in your sleep.
I like how Cnet left out the vibration alerts, sleep alarm, and quick nap features on the jawbone up. I bought the flex and took it back because it really didn't do anything new besides the bluetooth syncing. I use the jawbone up and now that it has 3rd party app support, it's by far the best fitness tracker on the market. My opinion.
I would tell everyone to avoid a Jawbone fitness tracker. They have an average life of 90 days and the company will replace one for you, but the second time around they will do their best to avoid making you whole, citing their ridiculous policy. Best to simply avoid the trouble and look elsewhere with so many companies producing these gadgets these days.

Honestly i believe this was a half-ass reviews. The Jawbone UP has more features than the fitbit and does it more elegantly. Yes it does not have an LED progress system but at least it syncs with ALL iphones and android devices. I will not need to wait to be home to get on my mac/pc to see my progress. The design is much better and will not have to worry about losing my device since its 2 pieces for the fitbit. The wireless is nice but not good enough since it only supports SELECTED devices.
Still liking the Up features and look. They did skip a lot of what it has to offer. And literally, the syncing isn't that much of a drag. Sync it whenever you want. Doesn't have to be immediately after an activity you know. And the on the go aspect of checking out your daily progress on the phone is great. No PC no problem. Esp handy if on vacation.
There was a lot going on there Brian. Kinda difficult to know whats going on with the products we are reviewing. But I prefer the fitbit right next to the nike fuel band. But the Fitbit, i believe can provide better or more accurate numbers than the nike fuel band since the last i saw the review for the fuel band.
The fitbit's app looks a lot better than the one in this "review"..I'm glad I passed on jawbone because who has time to stop and plug ur band in whenever ur curious about progress.,Bluetooth sync should be standard nowadays & looks like it can come off so easily..team flex all the way

These devices are supposed to be worn on your wrist they can interface to your smart phone they have built in sensors that are able to detect your heart rate and pulse and more!
I will take Style over bluetooth any day ..... I have the up and love it .. . It does not feel like a geeky thing and no one notices i am wearing a band ...At least this my opinion
They penalized the Jawbone UP for not being wireless in the prizefight I have a Jawbone UP its not that hard to sync and it syncs with all Android phones
I enjoyed the review, but find myself wishing it had addressed step accuracy as I have heard that the numbers between the two devices can vary greatly (presumably because the Fitbit counts all wrist shakes as steps). As of the time of this comment the prices of these two devices listed on their respective websites are closer than previously reviewed with the Fitbit Flex listed at $99.95 and the Jawbone UP24 at $99.99. I'm still not sure. Haha.

you dont need to leave your bluetooth on all the time. only when you need to sync it. so battery drainage would be negligible
