This car, does it have only one flasher or two (for Turning Signals and Hazards)? My Turning Signals stopped working. I removed the headliner for re-upholstery and decided to replace the incandescent Dome bulb for LED one. I suspect that LED, bcs read some complaints that those LEDs cause problems w/other lights. The Hazards work, but Sides (Front and Rear) and Marking went completely out. Thank you for so informative film. Update: I found it!! And what it was, I removed the headliner board for re[placing the upholstery on it, and disconnected the wire to the ceiling lens. The shop manual (I fortunately have for that car 2001 Saturn SL2) advised to attach those wires w/scotch tape, so I disconnected it fm/the plug by the rear window. The plug was sitting on a thin plate, which I assumed was there for keeping the plug in correct place. After I did some research I've learned that grounding could cause Turning Signals go off. The Manual showed 2 grounding wires on the rear close to that plug. There was a clip on the plug, metal one. I disconnected the grounding there, so even w/plug in the T S-ls didn't work of course. It might be helpful for someone else. Pls check the grounding as well if you have a problem w/T Signals and the fuse is fine. I was about to replace the Steering Column Switch, and actually ordered one already (so will have a spare now, not bad thing though).
Have you tried testing the turn signals right at the fuse box.If you check my video "Sequential Arrows for Car Side Mirror Turn Signal Part 2" at the 5:10 mark you can see me checking the output wires to the lights.
Your videos are awesome, I think I have watched almost all of your vedoes on Saturns. I own a 2000 Saturn SL1. Yesterday while driving down the road my odemeter stopped working. All of the other gaugues still work fine but the odometer and trip odometer stopped working. Any thoughts on what might be causing this and how I can fix it. Thanks and I will look for your response
My 1992 SC odometer stopped working at 280,000. I kept driving it for about 5 years after that! Probably to 330k miles, then rust got to the subframe, so I bought a 2000 Saturn SW2!
I now have a new battle scar on my red 1996 Saturn SL2 today. My buddy at work was returning from lunch in a Crown Vic rental car and scraped the whole left side of my car with his front bumper as he turned into the parking space next to my car. I had a 4 inch tall, 6 foot long scratch from stem to stern of my Saturn. When I got home I cleaned all the panels with WD-40 and you can barely see the scratches now.
Hey rich! I have a 2004 Saturn ion and my left front turn signal won’t work. The rest however do. Left rear turn signal works but blinks fast. The left front that doesn’t work comes on at night but still doesn’t blink. Suggestions?
Thank you sir! I did find it but but I wasn't sure that was it because my Haynes manual says it's on the passenger side fuse/relay panel. I could feel the clicking on the one you showed me as well as the relays Haynes pointed to so that didn't help. (Lately sometimes my TS works, sometimes it they don't.) What do you do if you replace that with a new one and your turn signals still do not work, and all the fuses and bulbs are good? Hazards work fine too, Will I need to replace the multifunction switch on the steering column? Thank you for any help on this matter.
I don't have a chime module, would that effect my hazards and flashers? I'm about to buy the flasher thinking it is the issue. just wanted to know if that could be the problem?
Well seeing the speedometer is still working i think we can rule out the vehicle speed sensor.I think there is a possibility then that there is something wrong the odometer.
lost my hazards and turn signals, the switch for the hazards is still functional. i was doing some nosing around in my fuse panel because i have a F5 problem too. could this switch be blown or does this have something to do with my f5 issue?
I have a 1997 SL2 with 160K on it.. I've had the vehicle for about 25K and the hazard flasher has never worked, the turn signals work though. Is this a multifunction switch issue? I know that my wiper will not initiate a cycle until I pull the wiper arm toward me the first time and then it's fine (That is a multifunction switch I think), and there's a slight dead spot on my turn signal that will cause them not to work about 1 time in 100. I wouldn't just change the multifunction switch with those two issues, but if it fixes my hazard flasher, then it would be worth it, right?
Love your videos. Very helpful. I just tried this on my 93 Saturn and it didn't help my issue. The hazards and windshield wipers work, but the turn signals won't respond. They don't even make the clicking sound or light up on the dash. Any ideas please?

I have a 97 Saturn with 197,000 miles on it, engine seems to run pretty strong I was wondering how many miles can be put on one of those little 1.9 DOHC engines and how long do the transmissions last for before need major repair.

Bleh, that's so easy. Too bad I have an L-series. Any idea where this flasher would be on an L200? I've heard that it's in the hazard button, but I need to replace my flasher to get rid of the hyperflashing of my LED turn signals. Thanks!
I can relate more to the bottle of Tums in the car. All Saturn owners should keep a bottle of Tums beside them at all times. Best tip you can get when you own a Saturn. I've eaten my share of them!
Hey Rich Thanks for all your Video's, they are so very helpful. I have a 98 SL2 And only my right blinker doesn't work after i tried replacing my whole fuse block under the radio (yet to find one at a junk yard the same as mine). Any Ideas as to why that would be?
richpin06a I have the same issue in my '99 SC2. Yes, the multifuction switch (headlights, wipers) are working correctly. The fuse is fine. Would following the steps you outlined in your video do the trick? Thanks!

0:43 Remove the screw holding the panel behind the cover made it easier to access unless you have very small hands.. I used a flat head screw driver to move the clip over holding the flasher in.
My sl1 Saturn turns off while I'm driving and suddenly it turns back on.. Well the lights on the dashboard and everything. Do you know what could be the problem?

Thanks a lot Richpin, this fixed the problem with my blinkers. I was a little worried when the problem wasn't the fuse.
Sometimes just unplugging and plugging the chime module will do the trick.

The blinker stop working on my 2000 saturn wagon and the hazard switch is the blinker switch also.

You should be able to get a flasher relay at most auto parts stores.
Is there a way to remove the door chime? I know pulling the door chime fuse will cause my car to not start. (But lets the waterpump work.)

2000 saturn sc1 also mine doesn't have orange chime box 🤔
93 SL1 is on the other side, passenger side.
My front left blinker doesn't work when I do my turn signal. The light bulb seems ok it just doesn't blink when turn signal is on.
I got 167,000 and she is still humming right along.

Mine was a fucking nightmare .. 1992 Buick Lesabre (GM) .. Had to remove the whole bottom cluster to access it.. 10 inches above the fuse box.

im about 8 years too late, but outta any car from that era, i see saturns still on the road the most. long lasting with proper maintenance

Are the IGN4 30amp maxi fuse in the underhood fuse box and the 7.5amp mini fuse in the interior fuse box ok.

I would look at the connections at the battery.
It looks like a sound repair as opposed to putting a good used one on which will probably fail down the road.
300,000 miles is the most i have seen on the engine.If the diff pin stays in place the 5 speed should last as long as the engine.

Wow the car is not even worth that much. Mine had like 162,000km and I am going to scrap it. Just too noisy and rattles too much. I deserve better.
