What do you use to initially record the external audio with the mic? I’m confused if I should be recording directly into my Final Cut project or using a different software like Garage band or something
Thank you for your help! I was wondering if there's a way to sync audio to just a specific range of a clip. I do multiple music takes in one video, so the official audio could potentially sync with several sections throughout the entire clip. Right now, I've been exporting clips and starting new projects, but that’s causing me to lose control and quality from the original video files. Is there a better solution for this?
Hi, @NickKendall! Got a question. When I record audio and video separately then later in sync I experience a considerable audio drift, that is even if the audio is in sync at the beginning it gets out of sync after some time and it is considerable at the end. Have come across something like that? Thanks.
Yes, I used to struggle with this all the time! It's most often caused when your video timeline is set to a different frame rate to the footage. So if your timeline is set to 24fps but your footage is 25fps for example, every 24 frames Final Cut will take out a frame of the original video, causing it to be slightly shorted than the original recording resulting in the audio being too long. Double check your project frame rate and see how you go. If not, it might be a sample rate issue which is a little more complicated.
