      That’s super weird! When you’re inside of the Multicam, you should be able to skip back to the main timeline by pressing that arrow that points left. If it isn’t working, you can double click on your ‘project’ and it will kick you back to your timeline

    Great video 👍 However I did have a stupid beginner's question, but at the minute 12:04 - 12:08 when you say "Boom!" a few times, what are you actually doing? What keys are you hitting? It looks like you're just cutting on the timeline, is fhat right? I can see the effects and changes on timeline, but not sure how you're doing it?

    • @RoyalZProduction
      @RoyalZProduction  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey! Never a stupid question and I totally didn’t explain that well enough in the tutorial. All I’m pressing is 1 through 9 on my keyboard as this switches the Multicam ‘angles’. So essentially you can quick toggle between different performance scenes within your Multicam clip. Super clutch and time saving!!

    I'm really enjoying your music video series but I don't understand why at 3:00 you say even if *everything* was shot 1080p, we want to drop that in a 4K timeline? Should you not work in the resolution that most of your footage is in? And.. how is it OK to upscale?? Isn't that a big no no because you'll be creating pixels? (I'm old school and learned that upscaling was a big no no - can you please clarify why you say it doesn't hurt to upscale as well as why you would want to drop everything in a 4K timeline even if you don't have 4K footage?)
    PS. Are your edits better before or after the sheesha? That looks like a sweet piece of gear! ;)

    • @RoyalZProduction
      @RoyalZProduction  Рік тому +1

      The reason I recommend upscaling to 4k IF your entire video is shot in 1080p is due to the fact that your 1080p exported video that was upscaled to 4k can now be viewed on an entire 4k screen. Upscaling doesn't lose quality if your footage was shot properly and looks good as well as it being codec dependant. Either way, even if you export an upscaled 1080p video in H.264, you honestly won't notice a loss of image quality. However, if you export an upscaled timeline in a codec such as Apple Prores 422 (much higher quality codec, much larger file size), you 100% will not notice any drop in quality.

    Can someone help me please?
    So when I film a music video in frame rates higher than 24fps (let’s say I filmed a performance scene in 25fps) and I bring those clips into Final Cut they never seem to match up with the mastered audio. Any advice on how I can fix this issue as I would like to slow down my performance shots sometimes.
    Or would including the higher fps clips in the multicam performance folder with the audio like in this video automatically convert these clips to 24fps to match the mastered audio?

    • @RoyalZProduction
      @RoyalZProduction  Рік тому +1

      Hey! So yeah, I get what you're saying.
      When you film in frame rates such as 24fps, 60fps, 120fps, create a timeline that is in 4k 23.978fps (24fps) and then pull all of your different frame rate clips into your project file. When you create a Multicam clip, make sure it's a 4k 23.978fps Multicam.
      The only reason I would think that your clips aren't sync'ing perfectly with the mastered audio is maybe because the mastered audio file being played on set isn't the exact same as the mastered audio track the artist sent you? Or, if you were playing the song through a mixing board of some sorts on set, this can speed up or slightly slow down the lyrics or beat of the song which throws things off.
      Either way, when you pull your different frame rates into your project file, they should all play back at regular normal speed.
