I got to say that carburetor has a lot of parts. Oh my favorite part the ultrasonic cleaner. My Troy bilt runs great, but when something calls for a load, like the water pump, if a bunch of lights are on, & Gen now runs rough & the lights will dim. It's ran fine before, at same house....
I don't believe a crack in that gasket would cause anything, the other one against the block yes for sure but that gasket is just in between the the airbox and you can run the motor without an airbox if you like.
The 5 back from the bottom. Definitely helped me out, just adjusting the screw got the engine running with out the surging.

The nut on the back of the air box is a 14mm on the generac 8000.

Can you show me where that long spring is connected on BOTH ends ? I took mine apart but I didn't see where the end opposite the carb was connected.
