Definitely get some tourist specialization along the coastline so you can have beaches and night clubs and hotels along that way eventually. You also need to go over your districts and make sure they cover everything you want them to, especially industrial and that new education area.
Really cool that the developers thought of adding oxbow lakes to their rivers. Some serious attention to detail.
This was actually added by a modder who made the map! Not sure any of the vanilla maps have this feature.
I think it makes sense to build a bigger busstation in the commercial district that used to be called Bente. Because all those busstops near each other serving multiple lines can clog up your city centre pretty fast. Or have the green line just make one stop, preferably somewhere else, like on it's turnaround square. And I agree about it not having a counter clockwise green bus route ☺Thanks for the many uploads so far. I have been looking forward to each one!
Yeah, the bus stops should be spread out. And also more parking esp. in the commercial area (and in between neighborhoods) to make the sims stop parking at the side of the road.
I feel like Busses that are for the university should probably end at the university then go back to the depot. I’m used to busses that leave the depot, go through residential areas to pick people up, stop at the university to drop everyone off and pick others up, then go back along the same path to drop those new passengers back home before going back to the depot.
With orbiting lines you have to have many busses to refuse wait time because they just go around in a circle. With lines that retrace the same line you only need roughly two busses, one that’s going from the depot to the destination, then one going from the destination to the end point.
Just some ideas to think about.
I just binged your series last night and this morning and you just posted again thank you :)
Mr. D, you are such the logistics/administrator. I am loving the series and watching this city grow and evolve.
At first I was skeptical about your playstyle, but gradually I learned to love it! Making problems yourself just to fix them in the future!
It's like my life but without the fixing part
Swords could probably do with a 3rd bridge between Thornton Heights and Robin Hills. It would help connect Victoria Square to the new neighbourhood, and vice versa.
I don’t know why, I’m mesmerised by this series.
But there are wild things you do sometimes with lanes and service buildings 😅 The whole bus lane thing you did - I’m not sure it would make sense for a whole ass bus to criss-cross with regular vehicles from the farthest lane on a junction. Definitely would be insane in real life, but maybe it works differently in the game.
And service buildings are better off facing from the main roads, not to them if that makes sense. If they are facing the main 4-6 lane road, when vehicles leave the building they can only go to the right and it’s just not very efficient.
A bus should never cut across traffic. So if you use the lane where there is a left, the bus will cross traffic and cause an accident. Instead, buses will change lanes until they get to the left lane and then turn.
How are you the only other person in these comments that knows this
Subscribed because of the Cities Skylines series, but am now binging your Satisfactory series! Thank you!
Maybe a river ferry system from the suburbs to the high density to see some boats traveling along the river. Otherwise great content.
Cant u name the bus lines like C001(C=connection line), i001(i=inner city line), O001(O=outer city line) this is for the lines who are still the same district/city but these are just for connecting with the inner lines. I hope you can understand what i mean with this. These just drive on the outer street and dont go IN the city.
Edit: and when u still want the difference in names for lines which are particularly the same but reverse like the north/South u can name these i001N/S/W/E and so on.
Im soo sry for my bad English its not my first language 😭😭
If not with a bus-only traffic light, a bus is probably not turning left from the most right bus lane. but move over to the turn-left lane instead. Having a turn left-only lane, is probably more helpful.
26:29 you can double click on trees, and it deselects everything else but the trees. Doubletap on the top one to enable them all again
How are you planning to get vehicles off the highway into all other parts of your city? You only have 1 exit via a single roundabout - problems ahead 🙂
EDIT: You should be thinking about frontage roads off those 4/6 lane roads - these type of roads are used for zoning keeping your high capacity arterial roads for traffic.
There are some lane math issues coming off a couple roundabouts too. That would be beneficial to that downtown section, where you have the bipass lane
Better solution to your Bus problem having to turn around. Make a road at the intersection where they are turning around. Make it a 1 lane road and put Bus only able to use it to go back to the one-way road that leads to the roundabout.
I feel like for roads with apartment, space them out one more tile to allow for alleys to pass through for the parking in the back
When you get all your parks up to L5, you'll have all of those waterside assets plus your fishing and normal park waterside assets to mix and match. The zoo has one, city park and nature reserve have a few, then there are all the fishing piers, jet ski rentals, marinas and so forth in the normal parks selection. Oh, and hotels as well now has a water-based hotel to fit in as well.
You can do oil industry from a central district that you drag over to the other oil patch. If you overbuild to get your oil platforms later on, it's not as if you can't blat it later on in your final build.
Oil and ore are exhausted pretty quickly, but you have landscaping tools to paint it back in. I don't recall if you switched on unlimited oil and ore. I didn't switch those on until I'd done all the achievements, though Achieve It is available. The rate resources are used up can be reduced in Game Anarchy too, which can set it to a more reasonable consumption.
When traffic doesn't use a slip it's usually because of the speed limit.
You'll see the opposite as well, where they come off at the slip road just to get back on the highway again, which can be because the route cuts the corner.
You can slow the slip road down, or put an extra couple of bends in it to make it longer again.
Large crop field also needs a lot less employees for that modest increase in production.
Rather than axe bus stops, create a small district and add the free public transport to see if that will improve usage first. The bus is there anyway with empty seats so you're not really losing anything if you use the policy that way.
I'll edit these into one comment when I finish the night shift.
You should make a campus district
Do NOT mess with Swords bus drivers, they are CRAZY!
After I startet playing Satisfactory and watching you I immediately got stuck. Love the way you make your content. Keep up the great work. 👍🏼
There is a mod that allows you to turn on line spacing for busses. It also gives you better control over the number of busses on a line
This city is looking so good 🤩
Going to need another Highway connection real soon though.
I been loving this series, thank you for the great content!
Please change your bus lane directions back to default 🙈 if you think about it, imagine your in your learner car in the middle lane going straight ahead at the junction, the bus to the right of you is now turning left....... Boom, accident. There's a reason they were defaulted to only going a certain way.
I get that actually, will correct it, but often they werent allowed to actually go straight, some of the bus lanes said they could only turn right and not go forward, even when the road infront had a bus lane too infront of it
@@WhatDarrenPlays those ones your talking about are fine to change as ideally you would have a traffic light system indicating the bus can move forward while the middle lane stays still. But you wouldn't have that light system on a bus on the far right turning left 👍
there is a duel purpose bike/walking path you can download that has bike lane on one side and pedestrian on the other side.
Another just small thing that can help with busy roundabouts is having the roads leading in be angled can help relieve some of the traffic cause it becomes easier for the cars to accelerate when there is a gap.
make it as walkable as possible
Those aren't appartment blocks, those are condo's in the Wall to Wall zone.
imagine living there you wake up stare out of you bedroom window and suddenly see you road move 10 meters
Am I the only one who can only play up to 360p?
Yes same the visual quality is bad for some reason
Dont know bout u but for me its 1080p
it's strange because only this video has this problem
New uploads take a bit for UA-cam to finish rendering highest quality resolutions
@@sciencenerd6623 ok thank you
22:15 ... maybe place the depot on the opposite side of the road?
There are some lane math issues coming off a couple roundabouts too. That would be beneficial to that downtown section, where you have the bipass lane
It's interesting that you're doing your driving lesson while doing this series, so you can get input from your instructors and then apply it in game...
PS: It seems that bus driver need to retake their driving class again XD
You should make a small uneducated high density neighbour hood with low land value close to the industries and the low density should be the contrary
Should probably junction the highway towards the high density, also providing multiple points of entry into the city. It seems to be funneling a lot
Great video
I'm really loving this series ❤
Love ur city. But traffic vise bus-lanes are the most inefficent way to use traffic space in real life. In vienna they are build to encurage traffic jams to make the city more unattractive for individual transportation (bikes and cars). Bike-lanes, trams or just a normal additional lane will increase the capacity way more. Dont know how it is handled in game. Always loved the transprtation layout of Amsterdam ... just normal lanes and bike lanes on every street.
Haha I hope you don’t go 60 on a roundabout irl😂
You need ploppable RICO mod to put down buildings like you want
Dois episódios por dia quem está comigo 😅🙋🏾♂️🙋🏾♂️
Brbr
Homens de cultura
br ele não vai entender . 2 vídeos per day
Oh no not another roundabout, here we go again ...
It has a slip road now thanks to you!
Better to have train system from suburbs to the high density, underground rail system is better.
We just need a character to walk and drive in the game 🎮 🔥
High school is outside the zone so the policy does not apply to it. Expand the zone.
just a suggestion but maybe you can turn your game brightness a lil bit?
i can't see anything if i watch it on the phone
Is there a mod collection we can download with mod settings?
I was able to find one on steam, however there were no city development, everything was unlocked at the start.
I'm not sure that the Institute has the same as a University. Technically, an Institute is the same as a College where students receive a Associates degree and is not the same educational level as a University where they can receive a Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate degree.
I went to an Institute of Technology and got a BSc. I got into a regular university but chose the Institute because it focused more closely on what I wanted and the degree leve was the same. 🤷
I assume when the game says its an alternative to the University they graduate at the same level too
Tree lined streets, look great…but you are forcing everyone to turn RIGHT out of their buildings, might be worth having no median for some sections of the high density districts
Yeah I need to drop some crossings on the streets by cutting the median
In 30 years ive been through 5 roundabout. This dude uses them everywhere.
Spotted the American :P
Look up google maps and just some random towns around London, its insane! They almost exclusively use roundabouts, I rarely see traffic lights but soooo many roundabouts
@@WhatDarrenPlays It's funny how that works. Texas roads are odd compared to Europe for sure.
Look up Milton Keynes. Soooo many roundabouts.
Thinking about it I drive through 5 roundabouts in the mile between my house and the town centre.
Southern Europe sure has a damn lot of roundabouts too. Way too many in fact.
What is this map called? Love the series so far!
0:13
High density what now?
Cummers
Name the big city machete
he cares about traffic but has hardly built any buildings. will see when you want high density residential. particularly I hope that in game two they will put demand for all types of construction for example low density residential and commercial demand even though they have buildings. would be more relist of the 3 common demands.
Make other type of interchange not only roundabout
What dlc pack other then all the mods are you using? 🤔
How do you build oil industry over the water?
Hmmm once you level up your industry you unlock the offshore drilling rigs. They can be built on the coast and out at sea
How has your High Capacity High school 800 students capacity? Mine has 4000+, also the price + upkeep are different.
This is addressed later, I think the realistic population mod bugged the number, as clicking into the mod it says it should be 4000ish.
Later on I go into the settings and adjust it for the high capacity high school and high capacity elementary to put it to around 2000 I think which seemed more “realistic” to me.
First
Love the conte
