I just realized the meaning of the music video. At the beginning Tyler's insecurities have consumed him. He has social anxiety, and thinks that everyone that looks at him is looking at him dirty, because when it zooms in the features on everyone's faces are exaggerated, but it didn't exaggerate with Jenna, meaning Tyler feels safe, and connected to Jenna. When Jenna finds out about the blurryface in Tyler, she beats up blurryface. The reason Jenna is a tear in his heart is because he helps Tyler by beating up blurryface, but at the same time that is beating up a bit of Tyler. Edit: to add on a bit more to this theory, i think because of this the bishop sacarver is the bishop of guilt, as Tyler (or blurryface) feels guilt for getting blurryface beat up.
I remember reading an interview with Tyler where he explained how he started dating Jenna in 2013. At the time he already has some success and he was impressed by the fact that she treated him "like a normal person" as opposed to most everybody else around him who either wanted something from him, or wanted to be around his fame. He said something to the effect of: 'people would tell me what they though I wanted to hear, she told me what she thought I needed to hear' I think that's what's being reflected in the video. All the people on the street become grotesque versions of themselves, seeing him as something they can use and contorting themselves to gain his favor: fake. Then he sees Jenna and she walks past, no intent in her eyes. He's intrigued so he follows her into the restaurant. Coming to her table, he's surprised that she's honest with him - "sometimes you gotta bleed to know, that you're alive and have a soul" - He responds - "but it takes someone to come around to show you how" - She then proceeds to beat the crap out of him. -- She's not afraid to hurt him, to tell him the truth, to tell him things that he doesn't WANT to hear, but will make him a better person in the end. Once that's done, she shows that she can be tender... and b/c he's already seen that she isn't "fake" and trying to curry his favor, he can trust her tenderness. ... at least, that's what I think now as I write this at 3am after a little too much grappa! :)

The eyes of the people are distorting representing Tyler's fears, insecurities and all. He meets this girl where her eyes doesn't change representing she's the only one real amidst those people. He chases her. The girl mouths the first two lyrics indicating there will come a time that she will hurt him (thus the beating) during their love. But Tyler decided to love her still (the kiss) because she's the one.

I didn't understand this music video until recently. After the release of Jumpsuit and Nico and the niners I understand that Jenna isn't beating up Tyler. She releaseing him from Blurry Face. It hit me when I saw this 3:00 because tyler's neck paint is smudged and they kiss. "She's the tear in my heart" she's the one who can make it all go away, even for a little bit.

This is what I've always thought about this whole song/music video: - Everyone's eyes grow large when Tyler looks at them. And it makes him anxious. - He finally sees Jenna, and she's the only person in the world whose eyes don't grow larger. So he follows her. I think this all means that Tyler has gone through life not trusting people. I think that he either feels judged by people he sees, or he feels like there's nothing he can trust about them. One day, he finally meets "the one", which is Jenna. She walks into the scene as the music changes pace and Tyler starts singing about this "someone" who was asleep in his car as he drove. This could be something that actually happened to them in real life where his life was crumbling (all the buildings are falling apart) -- or it could be the moment he realised he was in love with Jenna since he cared enough to not hit the potholes. And Jenna is the only person in the video who is truthful/undeceiving because her facial features don't warp. So Tyler follows her down a suspicious alley to a bar. At the bar, they have a conversation and everything she says is like a slap to the face. I think that the whole punching scene is representing how honest she is with him - she's so honest and upfront that it hurts. And that is why Jenna is the tear in Tyler's heart.

Last year, on August 16th, I received a call telling me that one of my best friends passed away from unknown circumstances while he was doing homework in his bedroom. I shared with him years of friendship in high school. We shared the love for this song and others, this and House of Gold were our songs. I don't know where our loved ones end when they leave our world, but I know he'll always be with us when we remember the times we shared together. I'm very lucky to have heard this creative Tear In My Heart song by twenty one pilots via radio airplay around 5 to 6 years ago, this is a meaningful love song despite the obvious references to both the challenges and good times in their love connection.
I think Josh wasn't really focused on because it's just not his song. It's Jenna's song. If they put him in the same role as Tyler, then Josh would be in love with Jenna. If he had the same role as Jenna, then he's the love of Tyler's life. Either way, it's wrong. These are Tyler's feelings about Jenna, Josh just doesn't fit in there.

A couple years ago, when I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, and even before that when I knew what I had, I got it into my head that there was no way anyone could ever love me. The only way they could love me was by loving my mental illnesses, too, because of how much of an impact they have in my life. And how could anyone ever love that? I was completely convinced no one could ever love me, it would be impossible. Tyler is so much in love with Jenna, and even with Tyler's demons, Jenna still loves him just as much. Their love is adorable and real and I've hardly seen any truer love then the two of them. Seeing Jenna and Tyler together makes me so happy and it has really given me hope. There's now a little bit of me that says that it might just be possible for me to find someone who will take me for who I am; mental illnesses and all. I haven't found him yet, but he could be out there. I've just got to find my own tear in my heart.

I didn't understand this music video until recently. After the release of Jumpsuit and Nico and the niners I understand that Jenna isn't beating up Tyler. She releaseing him from Blurry Face. This is what I've always thought about this whole song/music video:
- Everyone's eyes grow large when Tyler looks at them. And it makes him anxious.
- He finally sees Jenna, and she's the only person in the world whose eyes don't grow larger. So he follows her.
I think this all means that Tyler has gone through life not trusting people. I think that he either feels judged by people he sees, or he feels like there's nothing he can trust about them.
One day, he finally meets "the one", which is Jenna. She walks into the scene as the music changes pace and Tyler starts singing about this "someone" who was asleep in his car as he drove. This could be something that actually happened to them in real life where his life was crumbling (all the buildings are falling apart) -- or it could be the moment he realised he was in love with Jenna since he cared enough to not hit the potholes.
And Jenna is the only person in the video who is truthful/undeceiving because her facial features don't warp. So Tyler follows her down a suspicious alley to a bar. At the bar, they have a conversation and everything she says is like a slap to the face. I think that the whole punching scene is representing how honest she is with him - she's so honest and upfront that it hurts.
And that is why Jenna is the tear in Tyler's heart.

I'm very lucky to have heard this creative Tear In My Heart song by twenty one pilots via radio airplay around 5 to 6 years ago, this is a meaningful love song despite the obvious references to both the challenges and good times in their love connection.
I think Josh wasn't really focused on because it's just not his song. It's Jenna's song. If they put him in the same role as Tyler, then Josh would be in love with Jenna. If he had the same role as Jenna, then he's the love of Tyler's life. Either way, it's wrong. These are Tyler's feelings about Jenna, Josh just doesn't fit in there.
He's part of the band, it was pretty necessaru for him to be in thr video. Besides, they mainly only focused on Tyler and Jenna, Josh was just in the video.

A couple years ago, when I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, and even before that when I knew what I had, I got it into my head that there was no way anyone could ever love me. The only way they could love me was by loving my mental illnesses, too, because of how much of an impact they have in my life. And how could anyone ever love that? I was completely convinced no one could ever love me, it would be impossible.
Tyler is so much in love with Jenna, and even with Tyler's demons, Jenna still loves him just as much. Their love is adorable and real and I've hardly seen any truer love then the two of them. Seeing Jenna and Tyler together makes me so happy and it has really given me hope.
There's now a little bit of me that says that it might just be possible for me to find someone who will take me for who I am; mental illnesses and all.
I haven't found him yet, but he could be out there. I've just got to find my own tear in my heart.
I believe in you, just stay strong, you will get through life, east is up my fren. ||-//
