Hi Gena, love the hair. I absolutely enjoyed your video today. Getting to know what you like to do. I hope you do another Q & A. I hope you have a wonderful week ❤
Awww...thanks Duncan!!! I feel that way too :). I appreciate everything. I put out my tray bird feeder again for the fall/winter season, just yesterday. Most of my tray feeder birds left for the summer...too much good eating out there. But I notice them coming back around again. PLUS...we had a nest of cooper's hawks that were terrorizing the birds and the squirrels ALL summer. I think the hawks finally left. My neighbor saw the pair hunting and catching squirrels. It was a bummer of a summer as far as my birds/squirrels go this year. I hope those hawks don't come back next year. Anyways...some bird/squirrel drama for you LOL. Have a great new week!!!!
Hi Gena! My hubby was impressed that you pronounced my name correctly 😊. Loved this video, I got a chance to know you a little bit better. So nice of you to share. I can relate a little bit of how you don’t like to vacation because it can be a bit of work & stressful, but I like to experience different places so I’m willing to do the work. Just got my latest order from you & she’s beautiful 🤩 Enjoy your week !Roz
Hi, Roz!!!! Oh good!!!! I'm glad I didn't mispronounce it :D. Glad you enjoyed this video. I had fun making it. Plus it was very productive getting those plants potted up. It's been needing done for awhile but I was lacking the space for more potted plants. Once I got the new tent set up I knew I could finally get those props planted. You have a great week too!!!! :D
Hi, Aubrey!!! I figured I wasn't the only one. Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun to make this style of video. I'll have to do them more often :D. Thanks for watching!!!!
I use a little spice shaker with my Myco. It helps me control my sprinkles, I don't waste it, it stays clean of dirt and moisture. I really love it in a spice jar. Just a fun idea!
@@ThePinkTrellis I didn't either until I had mine for a long time and the leaves never changed from the narrow shape. No ears on them. Then I started doing some digging on them and discovered that yes there is also the narrow form. It grows really fast and the leaves get longer but never grow ears.
I really liked this video. The questions were good and you planted so many. Congratulations on getting another grow tent, it must be harder to work in one that is crowded. Cannot wait for your next video.
Hi, Paula!!! So glad you enjoyed this one. It was fun to make and I agree, great questions were asked. Thanks on the grow tent. It is so nice to have more space. In the original tent I had to put things on the floor and it was hard to move around. This is sooooo much nicer LOL. Working on the next Sunday video now :D. See you soon and have a great week!!!!
@@paulanoakes5358 ahhh yes. They are a weakness lol. I have a couple of cacti coming in lol. Cacti and succulents have been my biggest weakness lately. Thank you 💚💚💚.
Good Morning Gena, Happy Sunday! great video, was curious as to what your soil mix consisted of. Really eyeballing that silver sword, lol. Anxiously awaiting my new plant haul! Hopefully you will have more of the begonia serratipetala soon! or for that matter any new ones. Have a wonderful day!
Good morning Gina!!!! Thank you so much!!!! The silver sword and syngoniums will be ready fairly soon. I just want to give them like 2-3 weeks to settle from the transplant. Maybe once I see some new leaves opening on them, I'll put them in the shop :). I hope you have a wonderful day too!!!!! :D P.S., propagating some Begonias is on today's to-do list!!!!
Wow we both loved this video it was wonderful getting to know you better we both liked the length of the video it was like we were sitting there with you repotting plants you did amaze me when you said you were in college in 1990 I had no idea that you are that elderly LOL you look so young and you are so limber I never was at that age I am 66 in case you didn't know and Jen is 45 a second grow tent is amazing and we can't wait to see those videos Jim thinks you must have a really big basement thank you for the chatty video we loved it😊😊😊?
Hahahaha...yeah I'm an oldie but goodie LOL. I graduated high school in 1990 and went to Purdue University that following Fall 1990. Graduated after Fall semester of 1994. I think I might have said 1995 because technically graduation ceremonies were in January of 1995. I did 4.5 years of college. Derek and I graduated at the same time and then less than a year later we got married, November 1995. Time goes by so fast. Our basement is a full basement but half is crawl space and unusable. Derek so kindly gave up part of his workspace for my new second grow tent. Our basement is pretty full. He has his office down there as well as the workout/gym space. Then there's his work space for hobbies, then there's some space for storage, and then my two grow tents. It's full down there LOL.
@@ThePinkTrellis I was just so amazed because you two still look so young it must be what a happy life can do for you Midas will use up all that basement space
Had no idea you live in CO too! This is my first year being REALLY into plants and I’d love to hear how you prep for the colder months and/or change the placement of plants around your home for winter. I have a relatively inefficient window many of my plants are displayed around and I’m worried they won’t tolerate the lower temps where they are now.
Hi! Yup....we do. We moved here in March 2020 right at the start of the pandemic. Interesting time LOL. I really don't have to do much with the plants for the winter. I only keep some succulents and cacti on the windowsill so they do absolutely fine with the colder temps in the winter. Other plants near the windows, either hanging or sitting on a table, I don't have to do anything (my windows aren't too bad). However, I do shut the curtains at night (only in the winter) on SUPER cold nights just to give them some extra protection. That would be my suggestion. Get yourself some curtains to close on the really cold nights. Hope this helps :D.
Hi Gena. You were talking about how easy going Syngoniums are but I've been having issues with them for a while now. I had quite a few and thought they were gorgeous but not any more. Brown patches, yellow blotches, mealy bugs galore and just not looking good. The jury is out on this genus in my collection. I'm going for Aglaonemas to replace the Syngoniums that die.
Hi, Renate! I feel like Syngoniums are one of those plants that you have to start over with from time to time. My pink trellis wall (filled with only Syngonium) gets changed out every few months for a few reasons. The main reason for me is fast growth and outgrowing the planter they are in. This can cause yellowing leaves which leads to dropping leaves. So I remove the plant, chop it up, and start over with a new plant in it's place....not new to my collection but new to the trellis. Maybe I should do a video on this :D. My current trellis wall is in need of this exact thing but I've been putting it off.
Thank you Gena 😘, finally this video was made in a fun way. Sometimes without being organized it will look natural and fun. Now I have a question for you, my daughter asked me like this: Daddy, does this Aunt often call you because she hates you like you are not interested with Hoya?? 💚🤣💚 LOL
I will try to do less cuts in all videos from here on out. A lot of times too I’ll stop to make sure the audio is still working because one of the worst things in the world is talking for 20 minutes and then finding out the audio is missing or you forgot to hit record 😂. Tell her I call you out because you’re one of my favorite people 😊.
Great video Gena! Twister is a movie I can watch every time I come across! I would love to watch your brothers UA-cam channel if you don’t mind sharing 😊
Thank you so much! Same here!!! I can't wait to see the new one that just recently came out. My brother saw it and said it's pretty good :D. Here is his youtube channel: www.youtube.com/@AaronJayjack
You’re so lucky that you have a basement for grow tents. I don’t want to count how many plants I have. I have plants every room except my son room and his bathroom. Spare room only have one propagation on the wall hanging. Not much light in there. More a storage room than any else.
I am very grateful to have my basement!!!! I didn't actually count mine...I feel the same...don't really want to know LOL. I guesstimated around 400 or so. Hopefully not more than 500 LOL. I too have plants in every room except my son's room and his bathroom. But also my my bathroom since there is no window in there. But every other room has plants!!!!
I got my new Hoya this week. Awesome packaging and very healthy plant. I’m so glad I found you.
Yay...so happy to read this. Thank you so much Donna!!!! So happy you found my channel too :D.
They are very cute new plants!

Thanks so much, Sylvia. They are pretty adorable at this "age" 😊
