I don't think so I think weebs just reduce all of Japanese culture and existence down to anime and don't engage in any other form of Japanese entertainment or cultural export.

They have many things that they export, but anime was an important key in making them a beloved member of the world to the isolated lands of the USA.
@@billbill6094I'm pretty sure Japan doesn't spread most of their culture around, outside of anime, on purpose. They're still pretty racist, they have a work culture about as comically evil as the American healthcare system, their suicide and depression rates are insane, and their whole "nail that sticks out gets hammered down" thing wouldn't be all that popular with most other countries. If that stuff was as mainstream as their anime is, then their reputation wouldn't be as good and they wouldn't get as much money, so I'm pretty sure they'd prefer that we just focus on the anime.

Also if I remember rightly, Japan did win that conflict with Russia, they didn't just get tired and stop haha. I love Bill his music freaking slaps, but a lot of Japanese viewers were a bit miffed that he phrased it like that, because I mean Japan VS Russia is crazy, the way they actually won against such a huge nation is nuts
They did win, at Tsushima Strait, a narrow body of water at sea. But they were lucky it ended there Russia was way stronger with more manpower and Japan was broke and had no manpower anymore, Had it continued, Japan would have lost. Lets just say; Thank you, Roosevelt 🙏

I would personally like to know how Japanese manage to live so long and stay healthy.
To my knowledge, most places in Japan are built in favour of walking/biking/public transport over cars, even major cities. This in combination with the average Japanese diet probably has something to do with it.

They walk more, eat less, and have a culture of shaming nonconformists.
Smaller proportion sizes when eating, generally healthier food, walking/biking is more encouraged, and I'm pretty sure they have free healthcare. Most other places have that last one too, just thought I'd mention it for any Americans that find the concept foreign.

My friend is from Japan, and this is one of his favorite moments to discuss. The area of Japan has storms on a regular basis; but this area had a major storm on the day of the Mongol invasion. More than half of the Mongol fleet was smashed into the rocks on the first day.
The Sengoku Jidai (or Warring States Period) is one of my favorite eras of history. So many interesting people with so many interesting stories.
I can recommend Extra History's video on the Sengoku Jidai for a more in-depth overview of its end under Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieayasu.

I'm sure there's a bit more to it than that, but it's been a hot minute since my three years of Japanese class in high school. I happily welcome anyone more knowledgeable to fill in anything I missed. Or correct me.

Don’t take it the wrong way, it’s great to see more movie reactions but I feel like the reactions to episodes were what brought the majority of people in.

Movie reactions, reactions to varied UA-cam videos, and more have also brought a large portion of their audience in. The way they handle things now, by having things spread out more & allowing all their content to be posted as it is, appeals to all the viewers. It allows for the best amount of views & whatnot to keep the channel going strong. Episode reactions are great, and sometimes you wish they were posted more often, sure. But this clearly is what they're doing for the better of their channel & brand. And the fact that they're showing up as a recommendation from other videos like this clearly shows that it's working. Let them cook, there'll be more episode reactions and more on the way.

Honestly, if Japan had stopped after their gains Pre-WW2 and kept to the "Greater East Co-Prosperity Sphere," they'd probably be one of the Top 2/3 Powers in the world. They had the majority of Asia, half of Australia, etc. under them. But their military reached way too far.
Would be interesting to know what would've happened in another timeline.

You... you DO know that that map of the Co-Prosperity Sphere was a planned sphere of influence after their conquests, not an accurate representation of their expanse, yes? Japan before ww2 controlled Korea, Manchuria, Taiwan, and several other Pacific islands, and depending on whether you count ww2 as including the 2nd Sino-Japanese War or when they directly attacked the Allied powers, they had much of Northern and coastal China under their tentative control. Indochina? Malaysia? Indonesia? The Phillipines? Yeah, those were all either direct colonial possessions of other major powers or under their protection. Japan wasn't taking those without pissing off the United States, and if the USA goes to war with Japan, Japan loses. As you said, they were just too overstretched.

Depends on what you want out of the franchise. I like the real goofy shit myself.
But, when it comes to the human side of the story, Minus One definitely is the best. I actually gave a shit about the humans when normally I just want to see the monsters involved fight.

It was also because Japan was very stubborn. Despite it being clear they had no chance of winning, they refused to accept defeat, and needed to be shocked by a tremendous show of force, otherwise they would continue dragging it out as long as possible and bring about significantly more casualties.
