    One upgrade we really like is the Morryde storage box that takes the place of your old steps. Looks great and everyone likes more storage room.

    You have made it clear that you prefer the steps that fold to the inside of the RV. I have a question: If it is raining (and muddy as it often is in the rain), do you have to clean the steps before you fold them in? Do you have to also dry them to keep water off the floor? If you do a quick stop at a rest area (or Wall-Mart) do you have to insure 5 foot of space if you want to step into the RV? Thank You in advance for you answer

      yes and yes. They are not perfect, but we love the extra length and stability.

    Have a question on the propane tanks. Do you 30 lbs tanks and if so, how do you get them filled. Take them out your self. Will anyone fill in rig? Do they have to be weighed? Heard some people get rid of them and use 20 lb tanks. Maybe a video on the subject.

    • @BTBRVReviews
      @BTBRVReviews  6 років тому

      Stop by most UHaul centers and many can fill your tank while on the RV.

    You have the same steps I do, you should look into the storage box that goes where your old steps are, real nice. Keep old steps case you decide on trailer upgrade.

    How was your class a license test. What backing test did you take. i just purchased a 2018 f450 in race red. Written test passed and in a week a skills and road test. If you could give me some pointers and perhaps a video would be great. there are no videos on youtube in getting a class a non ccdl license. I live in NC,

    Great videos!!!
    I don’t know if you know/did this. But when you silicone an outdoor fixture. You should only silicone the top 3/4 of it. So do a n shape. The idea being if the silicone on top fails. The water should be able to run out the bottom and not flood into your indoor area like it would if you had a full circular seal.

      true true. would the concern of water spray from the truck tires during wet driving coming up through the bottom be an issue?

    I had a 2014 cougar and with in a week I had disk breaks on it. Now we have a 2014 Grand Design and it came with auto adjusting drums. After towing it home I ordered the disk break replacement. I'd bet I stop %30 or more quicker.
    If you do get disk breaks don't skimp on the hydro pump!!!

    In regards to the GooseBox...I contacted the company wanting more information. I have a Leland 7921 pin box. I was told that they only make the GooseBox to replace Lippert pin boxes. I asked if there were any plans to make a model to replace other brands of pin boxes and was told, in somewhat of a rude tone that there were no plans and they were NOT going to be making anything for other makes. Have you heard anything about this? Are those of us who have a different brand of pin box just out of luck on the GooseBox? Are we left to suffer while those who have GoodeBoxes simply glide buy, waving their little goose feet at us....

    I pull a 40 ft 5th wheel but seem to be getting a lot of sway. Will any of these upgrades help with that.

    Just an FYI, you can get black expanding foam in the "pond" section of the box stores.

    MorRyde offers a storage box to replace the OEM steps when you've upgraded to the Step Above steps. It's under $200 and looks like a nice option for a little extra lockable storage.

    I did the upgrade to disc brakes last summer. It is huge the difference in how ours now brakes!

  • @davidelliott5860
    @davidelliott5860 6 років тому

    You did a really nice job. The braces look much better painted. All the work you have done is great, it gives all of ideas of we can do to our rigs. Thank you for that. I know you answered this question but I forgot: I know you said that using a goose box might put too much strain on the frame in that area. So how does this differ? Thank you again for your great channel.

    Can you please talk about PSI on those Sailun? I bought the same tires and I am confused. What is the right tire pressure and why?

    Pipe foam like used to insulate copper pipe works great to cover the wires and make it look a little neater. Spiral wire wrap works good to but takes awhile to put on.
    I have a gooseneck trailer and love how it rides. I’m sure a fifth wheel is much easier for older folks to hook up, little more forgiving when hooking up. I prefer to keep my bed feee to use for other purposes.
    One upgrade that I hope to do is put reverse lights at the back of my trailers. So much nicer to see when backing in the dark. I’ve used magnet mount flashlights on semi trailers in tight places.

    Great video, need to get some wire loom and wrap your wires will make it look better. You can get ut from auto part places, or Grainger or another commerical supply house. Can probialy get it off Amazon. Could you please state how much a wrap for a travel trailer cost. I really like that idea. I think after everyone see yours they might want to do. there own trailers.

    Nice job on that landing gear. I agree, a noticeable difference in the sound from typical oem equipment. Would be interested in a look at how the new pin box tows and drives.

    Have you considered installing a full Solar Panels install on your Camper? Also I was curious what type of hot water heater is on your unit. Is it a instant hot water heater or does it have the old style hot water heater.

    Great video. I too have been considering disc brakes for my 5th wheel. I have never liked the electric drum brakes. They are inadequate in my opinion for these big rigs. Did you install the JT Strongarms on the rear of your coach? I bolted a piece of angle iron across the rear to the frame to mount JT Strongarms to the rear stabilizers.

  • @RobertMememe

    Do you have a kill switch inside so someone can't use those switches? Also some metal protection on those legs would be nice

      I'm dying to hear about it too. I'm probably going to do that mod to my 5th wheel even if it isn't any different in ride or towing quality. I simply like the idea that nearly the whole system to connect the trailer to the truck stays with the trailer when not in use. No more lifting anything out of the truck bed other than the ball.

  • @BigFarles

    Have you ever considered buying and outfitting a good used starter pickup and good used fifth wheel. Maybe spend 15 all in on the pickup and 15 all in on the camper or something like that. I would love to see you find ways to make older campers and pickups more user friendly and a good overall value. If I’m not making sense please reach out. I think it would be a cool series and I’m sure you could get an RV dealer and pickup dealer on board. I love your pickup and camper but its not in my budget. Thanks for all your great content.

    Hey BTBR, something has been on my mind lately. I think you should do kinda like a gathering with people who may or may not subscribe, but watch your videos. And do like a RV get together. Do a camp out. Similar to like cars and coffee, but for a weekend with our rv’s. You have quite of followers and thought a get together of the people who support you can all meet up and show the same kind things we all like either trucks or rv’s. I don’t know but thought you might be interested in doing some day. I would be very interested in doing something like that.

    Hi BTBRV. Thanks for another good video. To make leveling your 5th wheel easier, have you had a look at the LevelMatePRO by LogicBlue Technology? It's a Bluetooth 4.0 device that sends very precise dynamic leveling information to an app. It's about $140 on Amazon and has pretty good reviews.

    Those tires are very reminiscent of airplane tires. Same basic tread design. Sufficient for something that doesn't need traction to make it go, it just needs to coast along safely in all weather.
