Could be talking out of my ass but seemed Amber may of stepped out on him…she went from a wholesome/pretty look, to looking like she’s about to head out to the bar and try and pick a man up….
Would you leave this man alone. All of you lol just leave him and her alone it's none of your business everyone has ups and downs blah blah. They're both good people
I've always loved this song's deceiving soft intro, and then it smacks you in the face. And the lyrics are Pounding out aggression Turns into obsession Cannot kill the battery.
The title refers to Battery Street in San Francisco. It was on this street that many of the clubs where Metallica first played were situated. "Battery is found in me" shows that these early shows on Battery Street were important to them. Battery is where "lunacy finds you" and you "smash through the boundaries."
^ Agreed. 8 minutes of pure insanity about the American soldier. Do a video with lyrics. Seeing the lyrics in front of you makes this song hit twice as hard.
I am not a fan of Metallica’s music, but I am a fan of the band. Not only have they been awesome at feeding their connection with my Alma Mater (Va Tech) through Enter Sandman, but when a Tech student was abducted after a Metallica concert at UVA, they went out of their way to help draw attention to the case, which lead to the recovery of the body and eventual conviction of her killer. These gentlemen seem to be class acts and I will always support their work, even if I am not a fan of their genre of music.
Ya know, I’ve been watching this channel for some time and find it so cool to see you out of your wheelhouse and discovering metal,, specifically Thrash metal. I’m at the age where I was fortunate enough to see many of these bands back when they were all younger and wilder. But getting to see younger people discover them and actually like the music is pretty wild in itself. Continue to enjoy, explore, and rock on, young brother. Horns up 🤘🏼
Hey Jay. I havent been commenting lately as Ive had some issues. I realize you also have had your own. Just know that whatever you are dealing with will pass and things will get better. It may not seem that way but trust me. Just be you and each day will slowly get better! Keep rocking! Happy New Year!
Metallica is a whole nother level. They have such depth. There are so many layers to their songs. Imo there is no band better. I know all the greats and there is a good argument that Metallica is the greatest band ever. They could cover any band , but not just any band can cover their music. Next level band.
Metallica with Cliff Burton was the greatest show I ever went to. They opened for Ozzy in Long Beach, 1986. Three months later, Cliff died on my birthday. It still hurts to think about it.
You should check out the live version of this song from the Seattle '89 concert. Hearing the song is one thing, but seeing it performed live during their peak is something to behold. The entire Seattle show is them at their very best.
Rob I'm 56 and still loving these guys😂.......started listening and going to their concerts back in mid eighties........their shows were PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
“Old habits reappear, fighting the fear of fears, growing conspiracy, everyone’s after me, frayed ends of sanity, hear them calling, hear them calling me.” Hell ya
Rome life put me on you when you first started out. Been there since the very beginning!! This feels like those old school rob squad episodes with just you. Keep it up bro!! Excited for your new chapter
YES!! Excellent Album!! I love all their early stuff. I love Battery, Seek & Destroy, For Whom The Bells Toll, and soo many more. Puppets, Kill em All, Garage inc, Ride, And Justice for Jason and Black are my favorites. Not much into their last 10 yrs. A few bangers but more rock not Thrash.
Good god, I had to stop watching the video when my man said with a straight face he thought the lyrics were coming out of prison, turned into a dentist. I gotta say analysis of lyrics was definitely Amber’s strength.
First Mettalica song I ever heard back in 1994 at the Grade 6 end of year party. Yeah we had a cool teacher, after this album he ran to his car to grab Nirvana's Nevermind cassette tape.
I bought the Garage Days 598 ep cassette tape when it first came out. Now, this is the original, not the 1998 cd version that they released. Those songs were the beginning for me over 40 years ago.
Hey Rob. I know you’re going through a rough patch right now. It’s going to take some time. I know you thinking there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. There is! Stay strong 💪 God Bless 🙏
Jay just wishing you and the family an amazing new year with health, happiness, and true joy in each other. As i watch your reactions to these video's it brings me back to my youth of the 80's. An amazing time for music. I was diagnosed in August with ALS (Lou Gehrig's) disease, but watching your reaction just brings a smile to my face. Thank you. your joy in finding new music a blessing. I remember the first time i seen Metallica Dave was still with them. It was at a place called the Fountian casino in New jersey even then you knew they were special.
Jay, you can never go wrong with anything on this album, but "Battery" is a great song to get your blood pumping. On another note, I will still continue to request "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by Iron Maiden.
Yeah, back in the late 80s, Duracell and Energizer had this big rivalry. And here we are now, however many years later, with Energizer coming out on top, for sure, undisputed! That's just how it was back when I was kid. Still true to this day!!
Back in 1986, a friend of mine told me that he was sure that I'd like this group (I was into Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, etc), so I bought Master of Puppets without ever hearing a song of theirs. I remember opening the casette, and putting it into the car stereo. This is song #1 on that album so this was the very first Metallica song that I ever heard. The song Master of Puppets was #2 so it was next. Needless to say, I was blown away by them, and had never heard anything so heavy or fast before. Check out "Orion" from the same album. It's an instrumental masterpiece!
I love Metallica, they are my number 1 but I never thought of them as fast. I guess because I heard Slayer first? Black Magic was the first thrash metal I ever heard.. I was sold. Then I heard Kill 'em all and Metallica went straight to number 1
My junior year in high school me and two friends broke our school record for most days in a row going to school drunk. This album was our soundtrack. They'd get to my house and I'd have a glass of lemonade and 190 proof Everclear ready for each of us. We'd do a straight shot of Everclear and use the lemonade mixture as a chaser (sometimes through a straw) and immediately headbang hard starting with this song. Stupid, but great, memories.
there is a reason why this album was chosen to be put into the "The National Recording Registry" a list of sound recordings that "are culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant, and inform or reflect life in the United States."
Your reaction reminds me of being in high school :) The head banging was my first reaction too. Cliff Burton played on this album before the accident. RIP Cliff ❤️
Their first full album, Kill 'Em All pretty much defines pure speed metal. It's well produced but you can tell they're young by their raw energy (I like the whole album but check out Whiplash specifically). The next 2 albums (Ride The Lightning and this one) show why they're considered perhaps the biggest metal band ever and add a lot more musicianship to the base of speed metal.
Kirk Hammet, is without a doubt, one of the best guitarists. I love how he’s not afraid to go from classical guitar with Spanish influence, to straight up shredding the electric. Bad ass 🤘 🎸
I was in high school when this album came out and I remember being blown away by it. You should check out "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" next. It off of the same album and is another great song.
I know you have only ever done 1 Avenge Sevenfold song ever, so once again im requesting more please. Welcome to the Family, Brompton Cocktail, Gunslinger, victim, Buried Alive, So Far Away, Dear God and tons, tons more great songs...also try Judas Priest, Desert Plains. I think I swallowed my gum when J said coming out of prison turned into a dentist hahahaha.
Pounding out aggression turns into obsession
If you're looking for fast-paced, look at "Damage, Inc.", also from thia album.
Dude...
Also whiplash
Dyers Eve from ...And Justice For All
That’s what I was gonna say
Used to play that before every HS football game. Definately gets people fired up..
Been suggesting Battery forever!! Thanks for giving it the attention it deserves.
“Coming out of Prison, turned into a Dentist, cannot stop the cavities.”
send it to weird Al, he'll crank out the rest...lol

Harvester Of Sorrow by Metallica...one of their best
Harvester of sorrow, one, and frayed ends of sanity are probably my favorite.
Also "Blackened" for me
This is the greatest metal album ever recorded. EVER!! 🤟🤟
Without a doubt!
@@RobSquadReactions. This album got me through my daily hour round trip commute to college in the late 80s!
@ rocking to and from school I love it!
This is fact!
It's the first metal album I owned
I will be sticking around to support you. I always want to keep it positive. And you definitely make me smile everyday, so thank you Jay.

I assume Battery St. at Broadway when it used to be at the bottom of "the strip".
Not disagreeing with you, but I personally look at it as Metallica comparing themselves to an artillery battery.
Thats how i always took it. Another military themed song.@@Alex-sm5vu
James Hetfield also said that the Metallica fans are the "Battery" that fuels them during their shows.
I consider Broadway the epicenter of the 80s thrash scene. The Stone was THE club to see thrash shows. It was glorious 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Do "Disposable Heroes" off this album next if you want to hear some crazy drums.
Disposable Heros of Hiphopricy?

YES one of the best Metallica songs out there that doesn’t get mentioned enough. So much energy in this one
The entire band peaked here on Cliff Burtons final album RIP. Every song on this album and Ride the Lightning are the best ever.
... and justice for all. Was Burton's last. They were on tour in Sweden for the album when their bus flipped.
Okay, double checked, he died during recording, so he's not on the entire album, just part of it. 75% right is still a C though, and I'll take it 😂
