Yep...pretty much...I LOVE the Two Notes stuff...been using it for a couple of years now...and built in to an amp is just awesome...great sounding amp too...I like it a LOT
Im ordering one, been waiting a long time. Great review going through the gain stage, love it. Hook up that angry driver behind you. That's the first thing in my chain after my delays. Thanks for the great review. Best unboxing ever!
I dont know if I understand correctly. Could i actually plug my guitar into this without the amp connected to anything except power and it will sound like a 20watt amp?
Ok so....its a 20W Tube/Valve Head...and if you plug it into a speaker you can use it just like any other amp...BUT...other amps/heads need a speaker attached...if you don't have a speaker attached you can/will damage your amp!! This amp has an internal load box...a load box is basically a thing that stops your amp from breaking when you don't have a speaker attached...this amp also has built in digital speaker/cabinet emulation....thats basically something that simulates the sound of different speakers (1x12, 2x12, 4x12, 4x10 etc) and also different microphones and rooms....the idea is that you can play without making noise...as in you can just plug Headphones straight into this amp and play in the middle of the night without waking your entire family up and it will sound like you are playing through a speaker....the other thing you can do with it is record without having to mic up a speaker...which makes recording much much easier. I use speaker/cabinet simulation all the time....live and in the studio...it just means you get a very consistent sound....and I like it a lot!! Hope that helped?!?!
I just got one used and the internal load virtual cabs don’t work. Nothing comes out of the headphone jack so I might have gotten a lemon. I’m just hoping I can ship it to them and pay to have it fixed! The amp sounds absolutely incredible through my 1x12 and takes pedals better than any amp I’ve ever played. I just need the headphones to work so my wife doesn’t kick me out of the house!
I have used it with headphones and it sounded great!! Just contact REVV or the dealer you bought it from...I’m sure they will look after you!! It is a KILLER pedal platform...thanks Thomas
As far as I know REVV will only use good quality components...I haven’t had any issues with the tubes...which is usually the first thing to go when they are cheap...it’s seen a LOT of use since I got it - I’m usually pushing the volume quite a bit too so the tubes are working...and so far no issues at all
The SuperFunAwesomeHappyTime Pedal Show! Awesome! Are the tubes TAD? I am very impressed with the amp’s clean, it has a particular character, Blend the best features of the famous amps: The round and crispy highs of VOX, the round bass of Fender and the mids of Marshall. Do you think the same?
Yes they are TAD...it’s a great sounding amp...it’s somewhere between a Fender and a Vox style sound to me...it works really well with pedals...sounds great together with other amps...I use it with my Fender Bassbreaker a lot and I really like the way they work together
@@TSFAHTPS oh! you guys don't usually shoot at such a wide aperture, so I figured you were testing a new lens. The Sigma ART series is amazing, though.
You can just plug a normal speaker into it (8 or 4 ohm)...the Two Notes cab sim is only used when you plug the XLR in and turn the cab sim switch on...you could probably set up a patch on the Torpedo software without a cab sim...maybe...but I don't know why you would want to do that? The Two Notes cab sims are really good...and you can buy a whole bunch more and they don't cost a lot. And the thing I like best about the Two Notes stuff is that you don't have to get a whole bunch of IRs with different mics and mic placements...you buy a cab...it comes with a whole bunch of different mics and you move the mic(s) around in the software to where you want the mic(s) to be placed...super easy to use and I think it sounds really good - and they don't pay me to say this...I've never even really talked to them or interacted with them in any way...I just like the stuff they make! Thanks James
@@TSFAHTPS Oh awsome. Ya I guess the main reason I was asking is incase you wanted to record direct and use a cab sim other than the 2 Notes stuff that's all! Ya I agree, I have the 2 Notes Plugin for my Daw and though I haven't explored alot of the Cab's I really like it so far! I've mainly just been using the Mesa Cab's in it! Thanks dude, as always!!!
It sounds great direct...I haven't even tried it I to a cabinet yet. We will do a full video of it next week (or maybe the week after) and we will run it through a real cabinet and I will check if you can turn the Two Notes cab sim stuff off for you too! Actually...I'm pretty sure you can load any non-Two Notes IRs onto the Two Notes software...so yes you can use any IR and even load in onto the amp...
Silly question, but do you think this is the best tube amp with a headphone out? I'm looking for a do it all blues machine and can't think of another one other than the Mesa V:25
Would You consider this amp more american or british voiced? it has 6v6's but i want to be sure, im getting this or Hot Rod Deluxe IV as a pedal platform.
Hi Lucas...it's definitely a more British voiced amp...I think it's a really good pedal platform...we actually filmed the full video for the D20 today and talked about how good it takes pedals. The main difference would be that the Fender will stay clean longer...the D20 was slightly re-voiced to stay clean at slightly higher volumes but it still breaks up much earlier than the Fender would - 20W vs 40W...if you use the Two Notes cab simulation then that's not an issue but if you go into a speaker the D20 will have less headroom...
@@TSFAHTPS thank You very much, i was GAS'ing over this amp because i saw it has 6v6's, so i thought it should be more Deluxe Reverb like tonally. It seems like the only options with 6v6's that dont cost thousands is still Tweaker 15, Fender Super Champ X2 or Ibanez TSA. Ill go for the Hot Rod Deluxe then, i like 6L6's too, and i want clear clean tones, that are good for pushing with mid oriented overdrives.
I believe this is the first amp that has everything needed from recording studio use to live use. The perfect amp.

Thank you Rabatavus
That amp sounds amazing, really gives the feeling of a high quality product 😱
It seems really well built...and it definitely has a unique sound...I like it!!

If you are plugged direct into a real cab do you get any reverb?
No, the Reverb in the app is only coming out of the speaker emulation output not the real speaker
Would I get away with Floyd covers from 69 - early 90s? Is there enough head room clean?
didn't they come out with a new version one with more Headroom and handle that folds down
They sure did...and this is one of them
new lens? Sigma 18-35?
It's not that new...had it for maybe a year or so?!? It's the Sigma 16mm f/1.4...great lens...I really like it for the video stuff
