    I bougth it because everyone says its a good pedal platform amp. I just sold all my digital equipment. Nothing beats a tube amp.
    The headphone input is really handy. Thats the only time i use the 2 notes torpedo.
    I am really bad with tweaking on a computer.

      It’s a great amp. I ended up getting a G20 as I already have a Marshall but both are solid amps.

    You have seen me around looking for a lightweight live rig. This just came up as I search. I feel like the G20 has too much gain for my taste but the D20 only has one channel. I think I like the way it sounds better. I want clean sparkly tones and almost heavy metal(to todays standard) distortion, jmc800. I am having trouble going with a helix. Cost is a factor but there's a little more too it. I hear something from a tube amp I don't hear in a model that I can't put into words or describe the frequencies effected and how. It's almost like an old electric razor sound I don't hear in the models. I think the magic is most likely on the top end, but I wouldn't swear to it.

      THE G20 and the D20 are both great. I did a video featuring them both together. The D20 is a pedal platform and the G20 is high but it has a brilliant clean channel. Hard to get a ton of versatility in such a small amp but you can get good mileage with either if you factor in pedals. I prefer tube amps too and have 5 now. While I love all of them neither of them can give me everything on their own. But I don't judge amps that way. Whatever you buy you know there will be another one sometime so grab the one that makes you feel good :) Good luck!

      @@LonelyRocker none of them make my wallet feel good. With deliveries coming so often, my wife is surely thinking, WTF man. I just need one more thing. One more guitar, I promise. Two cases came today for guitars a few weeks ago. I am a drummer. I got new drums for the studio a few months back. So I didn't have to take all the mics apart and an hour and a half to set back up for live shows. Now I want a road setup for guitar as well. Same band always needing a lead guitar or drum fill in. Drums are my primary instrument, but I played guitar as a teen and it came back rather quickly. I never stopped completely, I just only had two electrics(isn't that cute?).

      @@LonelyRocker I would lug around a few tube amps for gigging and switch between them, if I had a road crew to carry all that shit. I read something that you might find funny. Peavy Bandit 112 is a great pedal platform gigging amp. I have read more about amps in the last week than in my lifetime. I own an old bandit. I was my drum monitor after replacing it with a Fryette amp in 1999. Love my Pitbull. It is just an improvement on the JCM800, mostly the cleans are quite nice. It was a tough call, I liked the Marshall as well. I physically can't move it around. If I was playing on a huge stage, I would hire someone for the day to carry my gear.

    I bought a used marshall 6100lm and with the two notes di box it’s more useful and i still enjoy the raw sound more than the digital modeling amps

    Great video. I’ve bought a Revv generator and am trying to figure out how to record with it. It’s rainy here in BC today. Cheers 😎🤘🇨🇦

    We thought paper book would disappear. But it still exists. Tube amp will survive for longer than we think.

    • @LonelyRocker
      @LonelyRocker  3 роки тому

      I hope so. The challenge is manufacturing. There are actually ONLY 3 factories in the world that can still mass produce tubes. While the tubes themselves can last for many years. The production of new tubes is so thin. If one plant goes down it will get even more difficult...

      @@LonelyRocker A good side by side deep dive between the two would be a eye grabber for sure! The REVV's price tag is what makes it very attractive when comparing the two.
      I am looking pretty hard at a D20 to incorporate into my FM9 rig. The Sure is very sexy and has the looks that the REVV amp is lacking. Weather it's a $1,500 bill better I'm sure it can be debated.
      Nevertheless I think this type of tech integration will be a must if tube amp builders want to survive the future.

    • @LonelyRocker

      That would be cool. I'd consider it if Ic ould get my hands on the gear. Another amp in my studio is the Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister deluxe 40. Built in DI and FX. I find I'm using that amp a lot. Plus the Two Notes Torpedo with my regular tube amps. Either way, it's a great way to track guitars for sure...

    just got my D20! was wondering how you were able to bypass the cab simulation in order to use the amp in your DAW with Wall of Sound? great video! cheers

    • @LonelyRocker
      @LonelyRocker  3 роки тому +2

      Awesome! Enjoy it!
      The way I did that wasd through Torpedo remote. You can assign cabs to the 6 positions on the rotary knob on the front of the D20. I removed the cab sim on position 6 leaving it empty. This allows you to record the unfiltered amp and now you can use WOS. Hope that helps!

  • @benkmurray

    Could someone please tell me how you bypass the cab simulation and just record the raw amp into the computer?

    • @LonelyRocker
      @LonelyRocker  Рік тому

      Remove one of the preloaded cabs on the amp so it’s empty. Use Torpedo remote to do this so one of the 6 selections on the rotary knob is empty. Then record with this setting and you can add the cabs in mix. Hope that helps.

    Great video!! many thanks!! I have a question that I would appreciate you could help me with : Between the G20 and D20, which one has the loudest clean channel with plenty of headroom (looking for something as clean as a Fender Twin Reverb).

    • @LonelyRocker
      @LonelyRocker  3 роки тому

      Thank you! Glad you liked it. I wish I could answer that question. I was supposed to be getting a G20 but it never happened so I can't make a comparison as I've never tried the G20...
