  • Our work-in-progress Himalayan 450 Rally bike gets put through its paces on dirt.
    We also run a modified XPulse 200 Rally on the same course to see if there really is a time difference between the both.

    Man this guy can ride. Would love to see a side by side comparison of the sprint, spli screen.

      I tried making a split screen clip but then the shots were too close and wasn't a lot of fun to look at (see thumbnail). I'll shoot it another way next time and do a split screen video.

    Rajan paaji forgot to mention he would like a steering stabilizer for that continuous wiggle he was working overtime to handle ...

      Itnay paiso itna kuch mil jaye wahi kaafi hai. Steering dampers honestly not required coz it's as long as LC4 640 adv and extra weight. It holds on nice. The reason you see soo much body use. Its coz extra weight.

    Well....as someone about to purchase a Ténéré World Raid, you have certainly made my decision more difficult. My wife wants A Himalayan 450, now I kinda want one too....

    Those looking for specific time on the course for both the motorcycles.
    The rider was able to complete the lap in 2minutes 49seconds on the New Himalayan,
    and 2minutes 58 seconds on the XPulse200 Rally.
    Amazing video, amazing rider!

    A 360⁰ camera with extended stick on the rear side will be amazing, so that we can see the power slides and dust smashing also from another angle 🔥🔥

      It most likely will end up smashing into a tree in the corners. Also, extremely difficult to keep it stable off road.

    The only update left with this bike is to change the front stock mud guard with the offroad one to give it a sharp and aggressive look then it is 100% complete 🔥

    I would love to tell you all Rajan is 40 years old and 100+ in weight with riding gears 🤣🤣 ... This is what happens when you give a New Royal Enfield to a guy who has done 1600+ km in 24hrs on 350cc Royal Enfield 😂😂 in his 20's ❤❤ Killer Stuff again Rajan ❤❤

    This is a promotional video for Himalayan. With twice the price in comparison to Xpulse, and with low mileage and high maintenance cost, on any given day, I will choose Xpulse 200 4V Pro.

    Abhinav maybe use the steel braided brake lines from Himalayan 411 on this for better bite.

      Problem is the speedo doesn't run then. I may still do direct lines though.

    Rajan was quite literally flying on the trail on the Himalayan and the man says with a few more changes he can actually use it to full potential, Woah! That's some serious riding there. Also, you said pulling off ABS plug , the speedo wouldn't work, but wasn't it working in the video? 🤔

    Rajan deliberately didn't push hard enough on corners... taking weight off the rear and letting it slide would have resulted in much tighter turns and a better timing. The Himalayan looks super capable !

      It wasn't time trail. Not my bike & to be kept in one piece. So yes, didn't push it around corners, also it's very restricted with extra wide tank for aggressive cornering.

      Hi, you guessed it right. Its 160 switch. But I have only replaced the top cover with hazard switch from 160 (from damged one in Hero workshop garbage pile) and kept Xpulse original intenals.

    Wny the himalayan's Engine light is turned ON? MIL to be correct. Any issues?

      ABS fuse was pulled to completely disable it.

    Looking at both the laps Xpulse seems to be faster than the Himalayan on dirt accounting for the time this guy lost in the saves and the turn where he was casually chatting

    Probably not very relevant to this video, but if you got a chance to ride this setup on the roads, have the vibrations changed in terms of where they come in in the rpm range since you also installed the decat?

      I don't feel the vibes. Also, on these tyres, I am usually doing 60-80 max on the road.

      I deliberately am not doing that. I have the video of the crash from three angles and a 360 too, but I feel that would just take the focus away from the build and just give fodder to people who have nothing better to do than keep bitching on the internet.

      @@abhinavbhatt hmm, understandably.. I half wish RE called it something else. Too many people comparing it to the old 411 and complaining about the low end.
      The way I see it,
      This one isn't meant to merely chug along offroad but actually hustle.
      Owners of the old 411 have the "I wanna chug along " mindset.

      ​@@Natasha-mj4uzyou could deduct 4-5 seconds from xpulse run because of the save and talking he did making the u-turn. So xpulse isn't slow at all

    Hey Abhinav. It's Sam from Australia again. Mate. I've gone cold on Royal Enfield. We haven't even seen the 450 Hima in country yet. March 17 we can go and 'look' at one in store but not test ride. We've been invited to put down a deposit on the day, but NO TEST RIDE!! Royal Enfield dealerships here are the WORST. Poor after sales service, pathetic parts management, and generally no effing idea about the bikes they sell. I'll keep my 411 until I can afford to upgrade TO A BETTER bike. But I will not be buying the new 450.

      Hi Sam. I understand the frustration. A bike is as good as the sales and service that comes along with the package. Just out of curiosity, what would be your pick now, considering you'd be skipping the Himalayan.

      @@abhinavbhatt I won't be doing much riding over the next 6-9 months due to an upcoming shoulder surgery. That will give me time to see how the cfmoto mt 450 is doing. Alternatively, the Touareg 660, or maybe the crf300 rally. I have time, I have a great bike to ride in the meantime, and of course extra time post surgery to save more money.

      @@sambarr7826 oh, that's a bummer. All great bikes. The Aprilia is ridiculously priced in India. About 6 times the Himalayan. I wish we get the CRF and the CF Moto here. More competition means better bikes by manufacturers. Take care. Cheers

    Its not the track for xpulse. That's almost flat kind of surface. Himalayan is quite capable but real offloading in different. But i must say xpulse need bit bigger engine.

      @abhinavbhatt just guessing, but felt like he lost a bit of his energy when he rode the xpulse! Also just to sort of balance out the unfair comparison between the two bikes :D
      The xpulse mightve done a little better if it went first!

      @@Ron.xionzre the XPulse may actually be faster. He paused for a moment while turning and he almost crashed before that. The XPulse was gaining in the corners a lot.

    Means more grunt at lower rpms and lesser gear shifts if you put a larger rear wheel sprocket

    Here you are a little of mark where as Himalayan 411 has a under square engine hence mor breathing more torque at lower rpms and 450 has a close to over square engine hence only high end torque and less low end grunt
