Hi John, I wrote to you once before about lampreys. I live in the grand rapids area of Michigan. lampreys are the bane of the great lakes fisheries and any time you encounter them, you need to do them in. Really enjoy your videos, they bring back good memories of those times when I did more fishing, but at least I can enjoy watching you fish.
Id love for you to make a trip back to Bowling Green. The weather has been unseasonably warm here in Kentucky. Its got the water temperatures up a little bit and thankfully the pre spawn bite is picking up.
Your audio is so good, feels like I’m on the river😁 I finally got on water on Monday. Water temp was low 40’s. Fishing painfully slow, I was able to get 4 cherry-lipped largemouth on swim baits and grubs. Like you, I needed that👍
I really enjoy reading through the comments and seeing how different the fishing can be based on locations, even when fishing for the same species. I went out and did some bass fishing this past weekend, they were already up shallow and in pre spawn here in Texas, great video as always John!
I'm glad to see the bass are starting to turn on in the creeks and smaller rivers. I floated about a mile of a creek Sunday after church and caught a 14 inch smallie and around 10 rockbass. One of the rockbass weighed a pound. That was the biggest one ive caught in a long time. I caught most of the rockbass on the mule minnow and the smallie on the Zman trd craw. For only 3 hours of fishing i think it was a good trip. 👊👍
Good trip boys. For slower retrieve and more vibration try a Colorado blade spinnerbait. Better in murky water and night fishing. Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day!
NICE kayak fishing John tell Alex if he has time to develop a lamp Ray mold or one of his lure making buddies I'd buy that soft plastic lure. Hope you guys have fun on your next tournament and catch 18 and 20 incher.
Great fishing trip and I’ve been watching your videos for a while! I appreciate how you been using the buzzbait! I’m going to have to give them a try again!!
Nice fish! I'm ready to hit the rivers again but just been hitting the lakes here. Got a 22 inch, 5 lber today out in the rain along with a few smaller ones. I'm looking forward to the fishing heating up!
Biggest bass I ever caught was in really cold water, it was an 8 pound 1 ounce large mouth, that was just over 20 years ago. The state record at that time was just a couple ounces more, been back to that spot but only caught a lot of small mouth and a few large mouth
Hey Jon I’m from your hometown but lived in middle Tn about 6 years but have some amazing spots around dekalb county to wade the creek and fish and also some all day floats that produce some huge fish would love to share these little creeks or collab
you should stop on shoals more and fish rapids - can be very productive spots - you will get tuned up as season progresses - you should make sure to kill the lamprays
“You should kill the lampreys” dude cmon. Know what you’re talking about before you spread crap like that. There’s 7 native species of lamprey in Tennessee. Why should you kill them?
Love the videos John but I really wish you wouldn’t hold those fish out of the water so long. The moment you take them out they’re holding their breath and there’s a greater chance that they may not survive.
John, I have always loved your videos. And I don’t usually make negative comments on videos, but I hope you will receive some constructive criticism. The one fish you caught just before going over that shoal you kept out of the water for quite a long time. I know I’m not telling you anything you don’t know… so let it suffice to say that catch and release should be more focused on the release… It’s not good for those fish to be kept out of the water that long. I’m referring to the one that you had laying in your boat as you went through the shoal, and then pulled off to show the camera. I’ve made this observation many many times while watching your videos, but that particular one seemed more excessive than I’ve observed in the past. Again, not trying to be negative, just mindful of what is appropriate for catch and release.
You could further monetize your fishing channel by offering a subscription service detailing where you’re fishing. I’m not suggesting giving away your secret “honey holes,” but knowing where facilities for launch and take-out are located would be nice.
Looks like a great time catching some chunky spots!

Great video , nice catches!
good spot bass
Early spring tge grand hog was right.
You need to get a power pole or a kayak with a spot lock trolling motor. Hint ,hint, old town kayaks.
God bless.
Power pole would have probably caused more problems in this stream, a lot of overhanging trees but I want to get one

Bro what? Lampreys are a native species to Tennessee. Absolutely no reason to kill them.
use the lampreys for bait out of curiosity
John wasted zero seconds after getting around that first little rapid to cast that lure with precision
What kayak is this?
Love the videos John but I really wish you wouldn’t hold those fish out of the water so long. The moment you take them out they’re holding their breath and there’s a greater chance that they may not survive.
What was the water temp?
Not sure but cool. Probably around 50
Have you got the water? Water my butt where’s the Mountain Dew. John you have got to get your priorities right

Please do not entertain this. Go find your own way bro. That's the fun part about it. It's not supposed to be easy.
Yeah pay me so I can tell you “best places are water” 😂
