I left my stuffed rabbit on Venice when i was 8. The hotel looked everywhere for him, but he was never found. My family and i still joke about him driving gondolas and eating pizza.

I accidentally left one of my favorite Littlest Pet Shop figures (a bird) somewhere in Home Depot once. we literally turned around and looked exactly where we'd been only a few minutes later, but poof. she was gone. alas. I got a replacement later and I like to think another kid found it and got a nice toy
I actauly lost my stuffed my ice hamster in a hotel in oregon, they also looked all over and they never found him.

It's like when people talk about "anime logic". Just sit back and let it slide as it makes for good storytelling and entertainment.
GingerPale at 8:02 when he says “Wow, that was a lot of effort to come here.” has to be the most generally accurate description of a single trip and imo, 50% of the experience you never forget about it when you have just as much of a hard time as Jaiden did.

But I’ve definitely seen my fair share of...” Minnesota Passive Aggressive “ in this state.
So, I recently discovered this channel and started watching random videos back through its history... and this one stuck with me afterwards, because of the unanswered question it contains: Why did the clerk at the border not ask for the legally-required parental consent form? They always ask for that - they *have* to - but this one time, when Jaiden's mother had lost it somewhere in the chaos and turmoil of Minneapolis, he just... didn't. A lucky break, perhaps. I saw a comment suggesting that he knew she didn't have one but, being a very polite Canadian, decided not to ask for it so as not to make her day worse. Or... maybe there's an actually logical reason.
See, it occurred to me a little while after watching the video - prompting me to come back here and share my theory in a comment on this 4-year-old vid. That border-crossing clerk was looking at a pair of *brand new passports* - one look at them, and he'd no doubt notice that they'd been renewed that very day. Considering his line of work, he'd no doubt also be aware that having children's passports renewed required the consent of both parents, where applicable. Thus, he might simply have concluded that there was no reason to ask for the consent-form - if the father *hadn't* consented to that trip, why would he have consented to the renewal of the passports, that very same day?
Hence, he could just shrug and let them through. No point wasting time and energy on that detail when the passport renewal office had so clearly already done so. Move along, next please!
This is actually funny, because I live in Michigan, where you take a BRIDGE to Canada, and I can’t tell you how many times we took a wrong turn there 😅

I agree but expired passports aren't the kids' fault. The notarized thing isn't their fault (seems like she knew about it). The stuffed animals could have been but they had to go back and get the luggage anyway. Super stressful for sure, and her mom was a champ. But nothing was the kids' fault.

I have a similar story. So we were going back to Minnesota where we lived from Florida and we booked a Spirit flight, and if you didn’t know, spirit is a budget airline so our flight got delayed and then got canceled so we drove 17 hours to another airport but about halfway through we stopped in our tin can of a car(we liked to call it The tin can because it looked like one) We stopped at one of my moms friends house and we watched Shrek to sleep and we slept like 4 hours and then did the other half of the drive and got to the airport. It was a one hour flight but Thank God It didn’t get canceled.

0:18 I'm actually more of a spring/summer person (despite me being born and living in Finland, the northernmost point of Europe). I don't mind the cold in winter that much, but the ice-covered roads and sidewalks make moving from place-to-place much more risky, and every year I'm eagerly waiting for that ice to melt away. Literally the only thing that makes winter tolerable for me is Christmas. I fully understand why winter is much more fun for kids, but not as much for adults.🥶🌨
