I'm buying my double bass export within the next two months. had a 90s export in chrome with the older style lugs and coated remos. sounded pretty good.
... this is a budget kit with snare included. Are you seriously expecting/asking the snare to come with reinforcement rings...??! If you want a particular snare with reinforcement ring, you need to spend the money. If you need to kill the ring... dampen the snare? I don't get it
Why they don't put REMO pinstripe heads on the kit is beyond me. It wouldn't change the price by any means. And the cost of the heads would be pennies on the dollar for Pearl. As a consumer pinstripes are longer lasting, easier to tune, have a larger tuning range and are a double ply head which can take the abuse. Just one consumer's opinion.
The bass drum sucks though. The Tom’s are good too except the bass drum doesn’t have natural low tone it’s gets dead or too bright. The small 10” Tom has a nice sound but doesn’t match the rest of the kit
Buy a decent Pearl kit. You can't gig with these and they have no resale value. Yamaha, Ludwig and Gretsch have much better entry level kits for less money and sound great through a PA..
I love it.....the export...series.......is true...good...quality....and sound...what like it...and wanna.it...
... yeah ... it ... is... indeed...
I love your drum reviews. Looking to upgrade from my Pearl Export New Fusion kit.
Got the jet black
Hey I'm thinking about getting these, how are you're thoughts on this set now?

The snare should get reinforcement rings to kill the ring

Nice

The Evans EC2 is like pinstripes(two 7-mil Mylar plies), even coated versions; I still like my coated remos for almost any style too..
I have smokey chrome
Having a hard time deciding on the yamaha custom birch..and this ...please help.
Tia
I own this exact kit. It is a good kit but is asian mahogany / popular. Birch has more focus and projects farther.
Me too, what did you decide on? Also Mapex armory…which one did you go with?

Do the three cymbals come with the kit?
Yes
I guess it's ok for a entry level kit.
Mapex and PDP have MUCH better sounding entry level kits.
Those lugs arnt the original Export .. why call it an export then ???
Eh, because it’s an Export 🤦♂️🤷♂️
The bass drum sucks though. The Tom’s are good too except the bass drum doesn’t have natural low tone it’s gets dead or too bright. The small 10” Tom has a nice sound but doesn’t match the rest of the kit
I have this kit and if you use the dampener that they give you then you are set and it sounds great!!!

Don’t know what way you’re putting these through your PA because they sound feckin amazing. They are built for gigging for Christ sake 😂😂
It's the yamaha custom birch better than this set?
