      Scottie starting to be so overrated! I respect him , but being the M.J's wing man was the biggest luck of his life,not a ''bad luck'' or a reason to be ''underrated''.He was always 40% FG and about 17 ppg.O.k he was a great defender and..you win a No7 on this list only with this? I would add Drexler to top-5 , Scottie maybe at the bottom of the list,and maybe not at all

    Miller is 11 this guy can take 11 shots and end up with 30. And he didn't have a good enough team to win a championship. He took the bulls to the limit in 98 conference finals and Jordan had a team 3 times as good as millers. If he had a team like Jordan did he would've had 6 rings.

    I think Reggie Miller was a tad too low given his presence -in the East Conf. play-offs especially. Ask Patrick Ewing and Spike Lee ;)

    Stockton deserves to be top 5 he was definitely the best point guard of the 90s and 2nd best point guard all time. I think miller deserved a spot over Alonzo mourning and Dennis rodman because miller with a desent team made it to 4 conference finals in the 90s and rodman benefited from playing with Jordan. Jordan could've still won those championships without rodman it was pippen he needed. Kevin Johnson deserves a spot. Shaq over Stockton in the 90s that's crazy shaq deserves number 8 or 9 spot

    • @TyroneNBAFan
      @TyroneNBAFan  10 років тому +4

      Everyone I have in front of Stockton has either won an MVP, been a top 3 MVP candidate or has lead a team to the Finals as a clear no. 1 option. Something Stockton has never done (with Malone being seen as the clear no. 1 and MVP of the team). 5 is way too high for Stockton IMO (obviously). I saw the 90's first hand and Stockton was NEVER at any point considered better or more dominant than the guys I have in front of him. Maybe he was at some points considered better than Pippen, probably in the early 90's, but that's it.
      You could argue Miller over Mourning, I have no problem with that. Miller was a legendary playoff scorer, but really one dimensional. Mourning was a better 2 way player though. 20ppg scorer and a defender who grabbed 10+ boards, blocked 3-4 shots. Was DPOY in 1999.
      Dennis Rodman has 7 rebounding titles, he won 4 with the Spurs and Pistons (twice averaging over 18 rebounds per game) and was twice an NBA All-Star and Defensive Player of the year winner (1991 and 1992 I believe). He was already one of the most accomplished rebounders and defensive players of all time before joining the Bulls. And for good measure, he'd already won 2 rings with the Pistons.
      I have Kevin Johnson in the honorable mentions. He has an argument to be on the list, it's just not very strong.

      *****
      Kevin Johnson should be on the list
      *1989/90*
      Suns = 51-23 (0.689 win%) with KJ and Conference Finals
      (beat MVP Magic Johnson and league-best record Lakers)
      Suns = 3-5 (0.375 win%) without KJ
      *1990/91*
      Suns = 53-24 (0.688 win%) with KJ
      Suns = 2-3 (0.400 win%) without KJ
      The only years that KJ did not have as big impact are when Barkley was on the team, but even with Barkley on the team the Suns still sometimes did much worse without KJ
      *1992/93*
      Suns = 37-12 (0.755 win%) with KJ
      Suns = 25-8 (0.758 win%) without KJ (with MVP Barkley)
      Suns were 0-1 without KJ vs the 8-seed Lakers in the first round
      3-1 vs the Lakers when KJ came back
      *1993/94*
      Suns = 49-18 (0.731 win%) with KJ
      Suns = 7-8 (0.467 win%) without KJ (with Barkley)
      *1994/95*
      Suns = 32-15 (0.681 win%) with KJ
      Suns = 27-8 (0.771 win%) without KJ (with Barkley)
      46-3-10 (12/26 FG and 21/22 FTs) in Game 7 vs Rockets
      *1995/96*
      Suns = 30-26 (0.536 win%) with KJ
      Suns = 11-15 (0.423 win%) without KJ (with Barkley)
      And the most impressive
      *1996/97*
      Suns = 39-31 (0.557 win%) with KJ
      Suns = 1-11 (0.083 win%) without KJ (no Barkley)
      KJ = only player with Oscar/Isiah to average 20-10 for 3 straight years, almost tied them for a record 4th straight year (0.3 ppg short)

    • @markharris7263
      @markharris7263 9 років тому

      He was not the best of the 90s give me isiah thomas over sorry stockton any day the man had no man to man defense he was a liability. Isiah thomas destroyed Stockton on many occasions.

    • @kobenottop1003
      @kobenottop1003 9 років тому +4

      Isiah's last good season was 1992/93. Stockton was great the entire 90s. For 90s PGs, Stockton is probably the best. Maybe Payton because of his sick defense and he shut down Stockton when they met in their primes in the 96 WCF
      Though if Kevin Johnson didn't have his injuries he would probably be the best PG in the 90s. He and Magic are the only players to average 20+ ppg 10+ apg on 50% in 2 different seasons, and almost did it a record 3rd season but shot 49.9%

    • @kobenottop1003
      @kobenottop1003 8 років тому +1

      +TyroneNBAFan
      Some more great Kevin Johnson facts I got from Nobody Touches Jordan and some of my own
      Kevin Johnson's accomplishments
      had a winning record in every season as a starter when he played
      1996 Suns = 30-26 with KJ, 11-15 without KJ
      1997 Suns = 39-31 with KJ, 1-11 without KJ
      1997 Suns were the absolute worst team in the league without KJ, but a very respectable 39-31 with KJ which would be a 45/46 win pace
      only player with Isiah and Magic to
      - average 20+ ppg 12+ apg in a season
      only player with Magic Johnson to
      - average 20+ ppg 12+ apg on 50% in a season
      - average 20+ ppg 10+ apg on 50% in 2 seasons
      -- KJ almost had a record 3rd season of 20-10 on 50% but shot 49.9% in 1989/90
      only player with Magic Johnson to
      - average 23+ ppg 12+ apg in a playoff run past the first round (1989), and the only one to do it past the 2nd round, as Magic lost in the 1990 WCSF when he averaged 25.2 ppg and 12.8 apg
      only player with Magic Johnson to
      - average 20+ ppg 10+ apg in 3 playoff runs past the first round
      - Magic did it a record 4 times
      NBA record 5 different playoff runs averaging 20+ ppg 9+ apg
      - and all of those 20-9 runs went past the first round
      In his 9 years as a starter (1988/89 to 1996/97)
      - KJ averaged 19.8 ppg 10.0 apg on 49.7%
      - just short of 20 ppg 10 apg on 50% for his career as a starter
      - for his entire 9 years as a starter, KJ nearly averaged what only he and Magic have done in multiple seasons, 20 ppg 10 apg on 50%
      only player with Oscar and Isiah to
      - average 20+ ppg 10+ apg for 3 straight years
      - Magic also did this in 3 different years, but not consecutive
      - KJ almost tied Oscar and Isiah for a record 4th straight year of 20-10, but averaged 19.7 ppg in 1991/92
      only player with Oscar and Isiah to
      - average 23+ ppg 11+ apg in multiple playoffs
      - Oscar did it in 1962, 1965, and 1967, but lost in the first round all 3 times
      - Isiah did it in 1985 and 1986, but lost in the 1986 first round
      - that makes KJ the only player to average 23-11 in multiple playoffs past the first round (1989 WCF and 1992 WCSF)
      KJ also would have averaged 23-11 in the 1990 WCF run for a record 3rd time, but he was injured in the first and last game of the playoffs and played 9 and 14 minutes in those games which brought his averages down
      The 1990 Suns were 0-2 in those 2 games that KJ was injured and played under 15 minutes, so including the 1993 Suns' loss to the 8-seed Lakers without KJ, the Suns were 0-3 in the playoffs when KJ was injured or out during his time as a starter
      KJ also led the 1990 Suns past MVP Magic Johnson's league-best record Lakers in the 1990 WCSF. This is one of only 3 times Magic lost with homecourt advantage (1981, 1986).
      And in 1997/98 when he was an injured shell of himself, the Suns were still 15-2 when he played 30+ minutes
      also
      KJ has the 2nd highest scoring performance in Game 7 history, Nique had 47 against the 88 Celtics and Sam Jones had 47 against Oscar's 63 Royals
      KJ dropped 46-10 on 12/26 FG and an insane 21/22 FTs on Hakeem's 1995 Rockets which is the only 40-10 in game 7 history. So you can make a case that KJ had the best offensive output in Game 7 history because he had the 2nd highest Game 7 scoring performance, insane efficiency from FTs, and 10 assists to go with that. That's at least 66 points assuming all assists were 2 points
      Most underrated PG in history.
