  • This video is an overview of North Berwick and places that can be visited in and around the town. Beaches, golf, boat trips, restaurants, castles, museums......the list is endless.
    North Berwick is a 30 minute train ride from Edinburgh or a 40 minute drive. So, if you want a change from the hustle and bustle of the city, head down the east coast to North Berwick. It is one of the more charming and quaint little seaside towns that will fill a day in your diary.

    This is a beautifully filmed and presented video. North Berwick is a wonderful place and you have definitely done it justice.
    People sitting on the beach wearing coats. It's got to be Scotland 😂

    Very well presented with a nice calm and easy voice. My friend and I used to cycle to here every Sunday from Edinburgh through Port Seton and Gullane 23 miles. I am 87 year old female and was 19years old when we did this, many years ago, where did they all go.

      Great to hear that you liked the video. What a great cycling route at a time when there would have been so much less traffic on the road. I used to run from Edinburgh to Gullane when I was competing in marathons. I would meet my Dad after he had been playing a round of golf at Gullane. Thank you for this hugely interesting video, particularly the views from the Law. Didn't know about this hill. Was supposed to be holidaying in North Berwick and Dunbar but went pear-shaped with the virus! Another time lovely area

      Hi John, thanks for the comment. Just returned from holiday myself. It is an area that is often overlooked but so much to see in the area and not too far to travel from Edinburgh if you base yourself there. Good luck with a future visit.

    Thank you so much for this video! I'm doing research regarding the real Geillis Duncan and though I can't visit North Berwick at the moment, videos like this really help to see the landscape, the town, and the general feel of how it might have been back then. Cheers!

    North Berwick is a lovely sea town. I wish it hadn't been so windy when I visited it back in 2019. I had planned to walk along the A198 in order to visit the Tantallion Castle, but there were such high winds that I had to go back.

      It's a shame that you weren't able to make it to Tantallon Castle. It is quite a stunning castle to visit with fantastic views out to the Bass Rock. Maybe next time, if you are able to get back here.

    🙏 North Berwick is definitely on my list now. I'd be curious to find out whether one can take a dip in the sea during summer though?

      Thank you for the kind comments. You can take a dip during the summer but you might need to choose the day carefully as the water can still be quite chilly.

    The auto-generated subtitles have got Aberlady, Gullane, Berwick Law, Firth of Forth, Tantallon, Craig Leith wrong. Why do those of us with hearing problems have to put up with this.

    • @edinburghcabtours
      @edinburghcabtours  4 роки тому +2

      Carol, I am sorry to hear that the video was disappointing. I have no control over the auto-generated subtitles and wasn't even aware that these were added. I check all the boxes before publishing the video to ensure that I am satisfied that it is good enough to be published. So that is obviously a UA-cam issue OR their voice recognition doesn't like my accent. It does appear that the subtitles have reproduced my words phonetically.
      Again I can only apologise for your disappointment.
