PK was a good company, and they made real efforts, especially the past year to keep going. And good for them for letting the talents keep the channels. Sadly, it's really tough to make this last. Big companies get the bulk of the attention and resources, and things like staff aren't cheap. And unlike indies, you can't treat it like a hobby since people need to get paid.
He's also hit the sweet spot for talent freedom. Instead of playing it safe and catoring to sponsors, he's allowed enough his talents enough freedom to foster passionate fanbases and rely directly on them.
I'm interested if we're ever gonna get any stories about Kawaii's management now. I'm not interested in any vtuber vs vtuber drama and I don't think any of Kawaii's or V-Dere's talents are either, but we never did learn exactly why their 4 remaining members of gen3 all walked at once.
The gen 3 talents left just before they announced that there was going to be a concert, so them leaving just before that makes me believe that they just didn't want to do any idol like activities. Plus most of the talents are very sad that the company is shutting down even some of the newer ones like Navi.
as a production kawaii stan this is sad, but I think they made the best of the situation letting the talents keep everything and just going indie. we can still watch and support. with them not having to split profits with the company, hopefully they can still achieve similar projects as before.
Nene Amano has been such a blessing these past few years, I would have been heartbroken if she was not able to continue. She truly cares for her cloud tomo's!
This is sad. Can’t say I’m too surprised, though. They were clearly struggling there for a while. They lost an entire generation of talents at once in April 2023, and before then one member of Gen 1 and two members of Gen 2 had already graduated, plus there was the issue with the member of Gen 3 who had been terminated shortly before the rest left. Losing an entire Gen of talent at once on top of that would be pretty devastating for any small company. They had Gen 4, but overall the company just wasn’t getting as much attention or attracting as many fans as other small companies like Phase. Yet another talent graduated a couple months ago. With such limited growth and significant losses, the moment I saw all the “Important Announcement” streams I knew it was probably the end.
Anything under the Brave Group umbrella should also be safe. The reason they're fast on 3D debuts is because they're a 3D production company before a vtuber company and seem to treat the vtubers as a tech demo for their other capabilities.
Chad Kawai giving the talents everything. I mainly watch Nene and she single handedly streams and does the same amount if not more than like 4 of your average vtubers (no hate) Nene has a drive and love for this i havent seen in a long time. When she went to japan she apologized for “not being able to stream much” while showing us a schedule with 6 days of streaming only taking the travel day off and not doing double streams. i know all the girls worked very very hard but Nene put that company on her back and i think if they could have lasted like another year Nene blows up and brings tons of eyes to the company but thats just how i feel i know reality is different and real money is a lot scarier to spend than imaginary money.
