    Ok this video makes the new manhatta idea seem plausible. I didn't know it was something we've done before.

      yeah, I think most people don't realize that a large part of lower manhattan (especially around Battery Park area) is basically "man made" land.
      there's a fort you can visit down there, and it shows the development of the shoreline. I wish I took pictures when we visited. Or I would have included them in the video.

      @theCuriousNewYorker I walk it and don't realize it all the time lol. Longest walk is from high st in bk. Over the bridge. To the west side hwy up to the highline to 34th

      The land in Boston is mostly created by man, the old harbor went to the old state house, and now the old state house is more than half a mile away from the harbor.
