I'm a White English man. If the US had NHS hospitals. I would move there in a second. I have a brain tumour but I love the US. New York was awesome 👌 Florida different.
No comments lemme fix that, love the vid bro
Thanks for the push 🙏🏽 you a real one
Thank you for the good video
There's only two jobs more deadly than what I do everyday. Take some pride in that
Why is bro SO UNDERRATED
Thanks brother 🙏🏽
Instead of locking down borders, they gave them suicide jobs in order to feed their families. Is that the American dream?
You’re not gonna know who they are because they’re cheap ass expendable labor.. one can to death three more.. country was built up by immigrants. Whole country was built up, brought up by immigrants. The whole country was built up and brought up by immigrants not the oppresses with the gun…
Fighting the great war ..building skyscrapers during 20s and 30s...fighting nazi horror during ww2...ladies and gentlemen..let agree theose were men amongst men
Carpenter here. Worked at skyscrapers for decades. Make me shocked.
Did Jamie have it coming? What do you guys think?
My admiration to these workers who worked so hard and did such a dangerous job for their country and their families. Really admire, appreciate, and respect so much what they did it is truly something that should never be lost. Thank you much for bringing this back it is truly an amazing story.
The original image was fine! What improvement do you think the fake coloring is giving us?
You are doing awesome job. Your videos are way professional. I’m confused how come you have less subscribers
Thanks Manoj :( I think we’re probably not giving viewers what they want. And that’s causing some issues with retention
With the rudimentary "technology" of the time, there is NO possibility of this coming to fruition at the time. Anyone with rationale knows this. Not sure if it was truly "successful", but it surely wasn't with the "tools" at the time. Exact same with the Pyramids of Giza. Most of us know that, and aren't morons.
It’s a famous picture, but it’s all about perspective. There are not having lunch 100, 200 or 300 feet above the ground. There is just a floor below that you do not see. So, do not make it much worse then necessary. And yes, of course a lot of these guys died because of a fall from great heights. It was a dangerous job.
The truth about that photo is that it is a fake.
Heres a box lunch and 5 bucks if you sit together guys!
Why dose this have like no views 😡
Thanks for the support Luke! I am hoping it takes off soon 🙏🏽
@@theCuriousNewYorker maybe you should make yt shorts and TikToks and link your vid Like RayWilliamJohnson

Damn this video is incredible !! This should have 780,000 views not 78 !!
I love you guys. Enjoy :) Also if you liked this vid, help me give this one some love: ua-cam.com/video/XckMYuKWVa0/v-deo.html
what you are seeing is true, i have black and white pics of my father in 1952 having his lunch with co workers probably 30 stories up, sitting on a beam 10 inches wide with no safety equip, also empire state building is in the backround, he did elevator const for otis for 40 years, LOCAL 1 thats when men were men, now most men wont even stand on a step stool to change a light bulb... sad
great video!!
thanks brother! we worked hard on this one
My dad has told me stories about what Times Square used to be like. I could never imagine that it was ever that bad compared to what I have always known it as today.
It was crazy. I take it for granted today. Everyone complains about the disnefication.. but thats 1000% better than what it used to be in my opinion.
@@theCuriousNewYorker With all the issues plaguing NYC today, I always hear from others that the city is the worst it's ever been. Me knowing about what the 70's & 80's were like, while I understand the frustrations, I would much rather be alive today than back then.
Such a underrated channel
appreciate you T-T
I WENT TO TIME SQUARE ONCE
Times Square? I went to Times Square once...
haha, i think we've all been there
When men were men.
Ask the pertinent question, how was lunch?
my favorite comment so far 😂😂
Great video!
Thanks for the support! Feels like we botched this one. But maybe it’ll just take time
A miser always pays double.... if not triple ...
yep. never pays to cut costs.
I can’t look at some these without getting creepy chills
I work construction in Manahttan and never heard about this. You couldn't pay me enough money to live in that thing if it's ever finished, provided it isn't just demolished later on (which I think it should be). Great video!
Yeah.. that new foundation method doesn’t sit well with me either.. crazy that the city let it go through
if it's evil, its almost always Soros
Not this time haha.. keep watching

Bros way underrated ,love your vids bro
Thanks brother! I thought this one would do better 😅 but still got a lot to learn..
So.. the real question is.. would you still live there? 🤔
Another amazing video
appreciate you!! can't wait for the next one. stay tuned 😁

thanks brother! even better videos on the way 😁
Yo
This photo makes me feel sick.. Everytime I look at it
me too! My stomach turns every time I watch it
I wonder if they where woke too🤡🤡🤡🤡😷😷😷😷 I think not
haha.. touche
You should have looked around, I've had a 3D colourized version for over 20 years!
oh man.. I have to get one of those for my office!
What about people dying from falling objects walking on the pavements below.
I looked it up, and couldnt find any reliable data on it. But looks like it was roughly 50% falls 50% falling objects that led to deaths.
Interesting video that is well presented, thank you. Regarding the photo, I must say that I still find the white/black original more interesting than the AI-colored version. Even though the colored version really doesn't look bad, it loses, at least in my opinion, some drama.
Thanks brother! I think there is something more compelling about the black and white because it forces you to focus on two things. The men, and how how up there were. With color, you start to focus on all the different pieces / details that pop b/c of color.
@@theCuriousNewYorker exactly ...
Yeah the helmet will definitely save u lol 😂
lol.... good point.. yeah, that's not gonna help
Where’s the women
I fell off a 25feet ladder miraculously I wasn’t injured not a bit luckily I was still on the bottom rung.🇬🇧
oh Man! I'm glad to hear you weren't injured. That's wild. Stay safe out there brother.
So how did they come up with their "2 out of 5" dead thing when the death rate was more like 1/1,000? Pure BS?
The problem is that they didn’t qualify the statement. If they were saying 2/5 for a lifetime, that is still high. So it’s likely 2/5 of the people who worked really high up. And it also includes injuries. That’s the only way to come close to 2/5 in my opinion.
So because people that aren’t/weren’t cowards did things before saftey harnesses and other equipment fully became implemented makes it staged? Bc most of you are cowards and wouldn’t but it’s staged bc they did?
In the middle of the Depression people needed to make money. Simple as that I think.
Hard times create strong men.
Vendors in Times Square have all kinds of versions of this photo for sale; including one with Marvel Super - heroes substituted for the construction guys ! Very cool !
Haha, I would love to see that marvel one! But as a New Yorker I make it my mission to avoid Times Square at all costs lol.
